Boo Yah Masterchief - stick that in your pipe and smoke it AH! re misleading AB about page numbers/paragraphs/wording in that shockingly unprofessional put together joint bundle for the Respondents. (& badgering & hectoring her, deliberately trying to throw her off her stride & trains of thought, jumping back and forward to different pages, didn't see him treated SL of GCC or anyone else from their witness side - WE SEE YOU!).
AB doing very well holding her own against his shenanigans!
These are your docs Mr AH.
AH wibble wibble/quivery bottom lip, well they're actually a joint effort, after trying to blame SW side for the bus crash bundle
EJ also adding to the disgust re the dogs dinner bundle and how hard it is to follow/jump around.

tabbycatstripy · 11/05/2022 16:00

It's because this whole strategy is about making her out to be angry. And I think we all know what we see in that.

VestofAbsurdity · 11/05/2022 16:00

Clearly a third space should be welcomed by all.

Absolutely.

BUT imo their end game is to remove from single sex female only spaces all those females who want and need them, they don't give a fuck about them quite happy to have them pushed out of society totally and only have the compliant, supplicant ones who fawn all over them allowed.

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 11/05/2022 16:03

There was one exchange where AH said to AB not to get angry at him. I think where she said the 'don't lets mix and match' in relation to earnings at the end of one year being added to the beginning of the next. She simply replied 'I am not angry'.

I noticed that on Twitter. She said “I’m not angry at you, you’re just doing a job” which I thought was a brilliant response. I didn’t see it live but the exchange seemed like she turned his unsubtle attempt to undermine her into a much more subtle undermining of him.

She would have expected the badgering and hectoring though. How you treat your own witnesses is inevitably going to be different from how you treat the opposition’s. He’s doing his job.

And I am feeling very sorry for the junior lawyers/paralegals who will have been responsible for putting the bundle together; not that it is an excuse - I am sure they will be hearing all about it later. And in that I mean really junior, not ‘junior’ in the barrister sense.

I'm finding the prodding of Allison; and the constant jumping around the bundle etc. are all designed to make her lose her cool. Personally I find this a very racist and misogynistic approach - others may not think that, but to me it feels really unpleasant. If I were a member of Garden Court Chambers I'd be ashamed of this

I would too.

Mandodari · 11/05/2022 16:09

Following this on breaks and downtime and find it difficult. Poor Allison must be mentally exhausted by it all. The woman is a goddess.

Ben Cohen certainly didn't feel the need to!

I don't believe this a junior admin problem. I think it was either great incompetence or deliberate. Neither of which are acceptable.

I think it is more likely to be ‘designed to put witness off stride’ as a tactic than ‘designed to put black female victim off stride’. At least in my thankfully limited litigation experience (am a solicitor but last did anything court related over 20 years ago) things like that are par for the course. Though not the bundle problems.

Oh and barristers sounding patronizing and rude in court was definitely not uncommon. Even ones who were perfectly pleasant outside it.

tabbycatstripy · 11/05/2022 16:15

He just shouted at her. His behaviour isn't acceptable.

NoCureForLove · 11/05/2022 16:15

Delurking to say I was at a dinner party with AH some years ago. His manner was not noticeably different to the way he is coming across here... 😀

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 11/05/2022 16:17

Haha.

I haven’t seen the bundle. But unless life has changed radically in 20 years bundles are put together by baby lawyers and paralegals.

Not convinced it is likely to be intentional as there really can’t be any benefit to them and they would know they would look incompetent in front of the judge.

In what way is it racist?

I did say ‘even’ - there were definitely plenty who were patronizing all the time (and to be fair, plenty of senior solicitors too) 😀😀

Signalbox · 11/05/2022 16:20

AB is an experienced barrister. She is represented by an experienced defence team. BC would be quick to object if she was being treated in a way that was not acceptable.

tabbycatstripy · 11/05/2022 16:21

Someone just said, 'Oh here we go." She's right.

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 11/05/2022 16:21

Oh wow. Did you hear that?

Here we go. Was it RMW?

dworky · 11/05/2022 16:21

They've done it again. Made fun of her!

Mollyollydolly · 11/05/2022 16:21

Go Allison re 'here we go' comment. She's bloody marvellous isn't she.

ickky · 11/05/2022 16:21

Oh here we go, reportedly come from IO & RW. Fuckers
