Forget about secret training of judges relating to pronouns and gendered souls, one thing they'd really benefit from is training about how social media works, in terms of interactions between individuals and onlookers.

Oh Lord. Why has the site started doing weird things with quotes and cutting bits off?

Are you on the iOS app Jules? I reported the quote issue on Site stuff this morning.

Yep. Guilty.

Signalbox · 11/05/2022 15:35

Very good points re the "complaints" which couldn't be complaints via the GCC complaints procedure because a complaint requires a name and address and the tweets were anonymous with no identifying information.

I’m only following tweets sporadically (though I do try to read back) but not convinced she is coming across all that well, which is disappointing. Are you all sure she’s not being successfully painted as unreasonable?

From reading the tweets I have the same worry. Between that and poking holes in her availability for work, etc this morning.

Obviously reading this thread feels different but then I have to remember we're in an echo chamber of our own making.

It's AH the feedback is coming from, he moved his mic closer as BC couldn't hear him, so when AB speaks it comes out of his speaker and picks up on AH's mic.

Are they recording, I wonder?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/05/2022 15:37

Checking I see that MNHQ have seen the post and looking at the issue, Jules, hope they fix it soon as it's really annoying!

AH has made progress with his case but this is one of his less successful sections I feel.

theemperorhasnoclothes · 11/05/2022 15:41

I haven't watched it all but in all the bits I've watched I think AB comes across as intelligent, assertive (but not aggressive), and a reasonable adult. I really fail to see how she is being cast as unreasonable, especially when compared to other behaviour on show.

In fact the compare and contrast is quite illuminating.

CuntAmongstThePigeons · 11/05/2022 15:41

I'm trying to connect on my phone and also getting the blank screen. So annoying! I've been watching on my laptop all day but had to nip out for an hour and have been trying to watch on my phone to no avail. Thanks for the updates all.

Allison is standing up incredibly well. However in the sexist society in which we live I do wonder if she played the victim more rather than coming out all guns blazing she would come across better to some people. It's the old if you're a rape victim dress conservatively in court trope. This isn't a criticism of Allison, it's a criticism of how strong women are still perceived in society.

Hopefully not as much of an issue in a tribunal like this as where there is a jury.

I was afraid she could be coming across as one of those people who complains but doesn’t do anything about the issue (like ‘this person reached out, you didn’t respond’, ‘you complained about this but selectively didn’t mention that’) but I am probably projecting past experience with such people!

Either way even just from tweets she seems to be storming in this part.

tabbycatstripy · 11/05/2022 15:48

I thought it was striking that yesterday KM was trying to suggest any transpeople would have been scared to end up in a bathroom with butch, black, lesbian AB. And they say they're the progressive ones! Definitely no stereotyping of black women going on from them.

Signalbox · 11/05/2022 15:48

AH shouldn't be so rude when AB can't find the page when he's not even giving the correct page numbers

There was one exchange where AH said to AB not to get angry at him. I think where she said the 'don't lets mix and match' in relation to earnings at the end of one year being added to the beginning of the next. She simply replied 'I am not angry'.

It was a bit strange to appeal to her not to get angry. That is a big word. Annoyed, irritated , but angry. I was wondering what AH was trying to do. Could he have said it without guile?

nauticant · 11/05/2022 15:49

The bundles are getting a kicking and AH tried to blame others. Everyone agreed they're shit.

Pyjamagame · 11/05/2022 15:49

Was it Robin White who prepared the bundles?

He is doing that a bit. EJ had to intervene once, and BC had to intervene as well.

ickky · 11/05/2022 15:50

AB having a pop at AH about the appalling bundle, said it was you who did it, AH replied it was a joint effort with IO and the EJ interjected saying it has been very difficult but not getting into it now.

Laying the bundle blame squarely at AH's door. 👏

Aside from the homphobia and racism, doesn't it argue against their demand to access female bathrooms? If they are that worried for their safety, wouldn't they be better either in the gents or a trans only option?

VestofAbsurdity · 11/05/2022 15:51

AH: sorry I confused you with the numbers
AB: they are your bundles AH, GCC prepared them
EJ: I concur these are extremely diffct bundles to work with

Oof.

He keeps doing things like this (applying emotion onto her when it's not warranted). I think it's a tactic. It's a bit like telling someone to "calm down" when they are already calm.

Clearly a third space should be welcomed by all.

They're not safe anywhere, that's what makes them the Most Oppressed.
