An attempt to prevent Kathleen Stock from receiving the bundle. EJ is saying she should receive it.

What reason did they give for this?

Chrysanthemum5 · 11/05/2022 10:13

Professor Stock is not a journalist. She is however an expert in critically analysing documents so I wouldn't want her to have it either!

nauticant · 11/05/2022 10:13

Ahh, we're back to cross-examination being based on the secret Garden Court Bundle that we've not been able to have sight of.

nauticant · 11/05/2022 10:14

I think Signalbox the basis of the objection was that Kathleen Stock is not an "accredited journalist".

Following from a distance/dipping in and out I suppose I haven't yet seen anything that's led me to obviously conclude that this case is likely to result in a win for AB and/or deliver spectacularly good value for money.

As already pointed out on here many times, AB to win doesn't need to prove that bonkers views are rife within the walls of Stonewall or that Stonewall is at mid-level staffed in some cases by individuals who lag behind their own comfort dog when it comes to professionalism. Any such case would have been a slam dunk. She actually needs to make a really compelling case against GCC that's comprised of quite a few planks, I can't help but suspect that at least one of said planks will ultimately fail.

nauticant · 11/05/2022 10:18

That's my impression too puffyisgood.

Don't know if this was posted already but G.Linehans comment about yesterday's farce had me in stitches
"His Mum’s face was one of a woman who has done a tour of duty of school concerts and didn’t expect to still be cheerleading her kid when he was on a 45k a year salary from totally legit legacy organisation Stonewall."

Yes.

I do think that if you have a reasonably well paid professional job you should be expected to do that job without 3 support beings required. At what number do we decide that perhaps a job change is required?

I note that Allison is getting a grilling, has documented medical conditions and was in hospital not that long ago, and doesn't have ANY support beings. It doesn't seem fair, somehow.

Do the support people get paid? Do they have identities and pronouns or are they just support people and that's it? I wasn't logged in to see this bit, was the mother just introduced as 'mother' or did she/they/zie/him have a name?

theemperorhasnoclothes · 11/05/2022 10:21

What do you need to do to be an 'accredited' journalist. Would Posie / Kellie-Jay count? You could argue she gets a message out to lots of people. What's the defintion of 'journalist'?

I think they have asked the bundle to be limited to individuals with press accreditations

Ameanstreakamilewide · 11/05/2022 10:23

I wondered the same, as KJK has written for the Spectator.

Who is the arbiter...apart from IO and AH, of course!?

Terfydactyl · 11/05/2022 10:25

Motorina · 11/05/2022 09:39

@Terfydactyl I'm in the agility world. I can confirm - noone cares what gender or sexuality you are; all they care about is how you treat your dog.

And that you pick up poo.

I simply don't believe that ring teams are routinely saying transphobic things. Normally all they'll do is confirm your name, your dog's name, and say 'when you're ready'. They don't have time for anythign else!

Yeah I sorta guessed. The whole page was off in a weird way. Anyway no more derailing. Back to allison.

Cuck00soup · 11/05/2022 10:29

@tabbycatstripy
I know the thread has moved on but that's an interesting perspective. I'm in health and am inclined (perhaps want) to believe that Teachers would mostly be teaching the right stuff if it weren't for the lobby groups.

Any HCP falling for this on the on the other hand has no excuse. (IMO).
Food for thought.

Ithinktomyself · 11/05/2022 10:36

@Pluvia You made reference to H Belcher earlier - that person wishes to be my local mp. What do I need to know?

Yikes! Google is your friend and when advanced search is fixed, Advanced Search on MN maybe a better friend.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/05/2022 10:39

You could try Googling the name with Mumsnet afterwards. I find google searches of Mumsnet to be quite effective

Signalbox · 11/05/2022 10:39

AH's sound is atrocious.

Clangyleg · 11/05/2022 10:40

Only just caught up with all yesterdays drama. I have to say I haven’t laughed so much for ages, literally crying with tears etc. thank you all for making such a dreadfully serious matter so funny. The SW reveal is definitely the emperor stripped bare. Allison you really needed to do this. Thank you and good luck.

I'd like to agree with this (as a teacher) and don't want to downplay the impact of lobby groups in some schools. However, in my current school we have had no training whatsoever on this, yet one middle leader has made claims that "the kids are fine with neopronouns so we need to get on board" and "the kids know more about this [sex changes] than we do". Both of which indicate a complete dereliction of responsibility imo. And I did challenge them.

ickky · 11/05/2022 10:42

I just joined, could anyone that is in post the main bundle thread link for me in the court chat please?

Hello , long term reader and supporter of this board. here. Delurking to say that, altho not legally trained, my opinion is that Allison will win here. I don’t think she is proving that the clerks changed their clerking, but she does seem to have absolutely established that she was ostracised and hung out to dry by chambers, and of course clerks are going to be aware of everyone’s place in the pecking order, and, consciously, or unconsciously react to that. Some of her friends and colleagues should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
Allisons an absolute star, I wish I could give her a big hug.I got bullied out of a job I loved and was good at, for different reasons. I know that feeling of people discussing you, and distancing themselves, and watching this is somehow, fixing that hurt in me.

I think the issue is that Allison needs to prove it happened. So I hope she will win, but even if she loses then I think her case is valuable in surfacing a lot of the issues

Chrysanthemum5 · 11/05/2022 10:52

I think AH has realised he's coming across as adversarial and unpleasant which probably won't help his case
