I'd expect AH to focus trying to 'prove' that Allison wasn't victimised, because that's where the GCC case is weak.

HairyBum · 11/05/2022 10:56

.

Datun · 11/05/2022 10:56

I think the issue is that Allison needs to prove it happened. So I hope she will win, but even if she loses then I think her case is valuable in surfacing a lot of the issues

Yes, I want her to win, desperately. For all sorts of reasons, not least of which is her own peace of mind and any compensation that she is due.

but win or lose, it's a massive fucking win.

She has managed to, quite spectacularly, reveal the batshit basis of the ideology

So @Pluvia 's excellent post has been deleted? How fortunate someone posted it on twitter. Wink

@Chrysanthemum5
What I find the most depressing is that there is such an important case as this going on yet the media is more interested in reporting some vacuous argument between two women whose main contribution to society has been marring a footballer.

I quite honestly find it astonishing that someone senior in such an organisation has stated that sex effectively doesn't exist under oath. Not only that but a barrister's chamber acted on this person's instruction to (allegedly) discriminate against an employee.

So now you know why so many organisations quietly dropped 'sex' as a characteristic for discrimination. Because it doesn't exist. In their world.

The WAGatha Christie case is my guilty pleasure and I can't wait to read reports about the cross-examination relating the industrial levels of evidence destruction.

Where on twitter? Thanks in advance.

‘However, in my current school we have had no training whatsoever on this, yet one middle leader has made claims that "the kids are fine with neopronouns so we need to get on board" and "the kids know more about this [sex changes] than we do". Both of which indicate a complete dereliction of responsibility imo. And I did challenge them.’

Well done. No, teachers do not have a responsibility to validate teenage social contagions underpinned by inaccurate medical and scientific doctrine. They have a clear moral duty to do the opposite and base their practice on the evidence and on avoidance of harm.

I think the newspapers are quietly watching this, and will be running articles at the end - There are a LOT of journalists watching the tribunal

@Pluvia You made reference to H Belcher earlier - that person wishes to be my local mp. What do I need to know?

Put this into your search engine

Btw, I just wanted to add re: Kirrin Medcalf that I was struck by the Portsmouth University connection dating to 2014. (Portsmouth University is where 'Gendered Intelligence', the hosts and promulgators of much of the gender woo theory, are located.) KM maintained his links with 'Gendered Intelligence' and was still being described as 'Kirrin Medcalf, head of trans inclusion at Stonewall and trans youth worker at Gender Intelligence' in 2020. So KM is a conduit between the two organisations.

I would hazard a guess that KM was one of the significant agents or carriers of GI ideology into SW during the period of flux when Ruth Hunt was taking over from Ben Summerskill and re-purposed SW (from 2015 onwards).

GI 'trained' SW and now we see the result.

This is not an insignificant person.

Ahh but that's women being women innit?

The media know exactly what to do with working class women who have risen above their station. It's a familiar narrative.

This? A black lesbian dragging people of good reputation to court? Many won't know what to make of it, and the ones who do are those who have been following the TRA movement from the start.

I guess it’s because I have read Alison Bailey’s witness statement and not the others, but reading the Twitter I am finding myself very impatient with AH. AB’s logic and her argument are entirely clear and consistent to me. And all his arguments about billing vs income and “why didn’t you pick up this particular small case” seem like irrelevant distractions from the actual point about clerking, or further examples of the thing she’s already explained fifty times.

I guess irrelevant distractions are his job but shouldn’t he be doing a better job of making it seem relevant? Maybe the GCC witness statements would make it more clear to me what he’s trying to persuade people of?

Cailin66 · 11/05/2022 11:22

There will be newspaper articles but the media know what a hot topic this is so they have to be very careful what they write. The Wagatha Christie case is much more straightforward. It's also a live court environment with no restrictions. Anyone following the Allison Bailey case as a reporter will find it very difficult to follow as it requires hours and hours of work.

But the Telegraph did report on the mid thirties paid professional, with the support of the dog and his mother in court. I'm not entirely sure how a dog supports one in court but you live and learn.

I've only just realised that my 'big' post on thread 3 has been removed. Plus the information I provided last night regarding KM's sex. I had no idea I'd been screenshot for Twitter but I thank whoever Jools is, otherwise I'd have forgotten what I wrote.

I guess I must be pushing some of the right buttons. We all know the big names behind this. Keep them in the public sphere.

I imagine I'll be banned shortly so I'll say a preemptive farewell to all.

tabbycatstripy · 11/05/2022 11:28

I really hope they don't ban Pluvia, she's done nothing wrong.

FlibbertyGiblets · 11/05/2022 11:28

Pluvia I hope a ban will not occur.

Onwards, wims.

SpindleInTheWind · 11/05/2022 11:29

Crazy times. So here we now have long-standing posters who contribute a lot of content to MN for free, having to worry about being mass reported by people who contribute nothing to MN, and possibly being banned for mentioning things that are already in the public domain or for expressing perfectly legal opinions.

I guess some types of observer are quite angry about Allison Bailey bringing this case.

Chrysanthemum5 · 11/05/2022 11:31

I'm finding AH's questioning annoying - he keeps going back to the point of why she didn't take on lots of minor cases when she's been clear that they were not suitable for her level, and were in fact taking work away from people who needed those cases in order to build their reputation

tabbycatstripy · 11/05/2022 11:32

He seems to be trying to advance the argument that lots of shitty little cases that don't develop a barrister's career over time is the same as fewer better cases.

Nah.

Chrysanthemum5 · 11/05/2022 11:35

Exactly @tabbycatstripy is that how he built his career?

SunnyLobelia · 11/05/2022 11:36

I am just chiming in here to say I also stand with Allison. Thanks . You are incredible.
