Some bearded American pillocks are objecting to the idea of Mumsnetters talking about feminism. Hadley Freeman and other feminists are doing an excellent job of responding.

they have created an army of female appearing bots

Bots? No bot could reasonably resemble a human, the whole idea is completely ERROR 404, database error reading noun table. Insert default action

Hey, how about those biscuits?

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 17:15

(I feel I need to point out that I pronounce it 'gone' but I was making a rhyming! Before I get TORN APART.)

crosshatching · 24/03/2022 17:15

Oh @turbonerd I'm so glad you're here 💐💐.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 24/03/2022 17:16

I'm so thankful you found MN, turbonerd and so very sorry for what you endured before and after.

When people throw around the concept of words as violence, all too often I have the feeling that a bunch of dilettantes caught up in thought experiments have no idea of what women's experience is.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 17:18

Hiding behind their beards.

For one heady moment, it looked like Ben Cooper QC had rehabilitated beards. Sadly it was not to be Sad

Vipers with extremely firm views on pronounciation and grammar doesn’t rhyme or scan though.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 17:22

Why don't they come here and treat us to some of that razor sharp analysis?

Also, I am hanging my head in shame, I used a figure of speech without considering that it might be offensive or triggering to those with beards.

DontLikeCrumpets · 24/03/2022 17:24

[quote YawningAngel]There's a podcast called 'It Could Happen Here'. The original series was about how quickly a normal society can slide into totalitarianism.

They've made a second 5 part series, about the War on Trans People Hmm

The second ep is called Terf Island, and is all about mumsnet! The woman explaining how mumsnet is a radicalisation hotbed spreading fascism doesn't seem to have actually visited, to find out what really goes on here. Might be worth a hate listen, if you need an extra bit of energy to get the windows clean or whatever...

Classic projection. One only needs to check out terfisaslur.com to see the countless threats and violent imagery circulated by TRAs and their sheeple. They are the ones employing tactics that are best described as fascistic. None of the tactics or images they regularly used have ever been used here or on any other GC platform.

ScreamingMeMe · 24/03/2022 17:27

@DomesticatedZombie

they have created an army of female appearing bots. That is, in fact, what the whole of Mumsnet is

in fact, bots in socks.
drones cooking scones.
vipers talking diapers.

@Wnikat

This one is really special: twitter.com/ricardo_jpl

Why do so many women retweet the patronising men???

The men look quite narrow shouldered? Bearded, but otherwise quite delicate.
DameHelena · 24/03/2022 17:30

Just been blocked on Twitter by someone who stated that 'you just know' that if third spaces for trans people were created, Mumsnet would immediately be screaming for funding for them to be given to women's services instead.
Politely said if you (dare) look at Mumsnet you'd see much advocacy for third spaces and funding for them. When they replied 'Not gonna do that' and I said 'Pity' they could 'not allow' me to follow them any more.
Pathetically scared of seeing anything that doesn't fit the false narrative.

UniversalAunt · 24/03/2022 17:33

Well…’ Mumsnet is famously populated by far-right, religious groups and used to recruit and spread anti-lgbt+ rhetoric. They use women’s concerns, fears and past trauma to radicalise them. It’s also low key full of classist and racist tropes too.’

I’m so proud that MNetters are worthy of such notice that we attract our very own niche’d God Squads to keep us all on the straight & narrow. Grin

Trying To Clone?

A marching band in the manner of the Edinburgh Tattoo where we assemble the army? (See Sarah Pedersen's paper linked in thread below.)

When you see profile after profile of men and women who are only able to speak about their trans obsession, some for literal years, when a GC man gets a GC TTC as a tattoo, when you're celebrating the removal of trans adult's healthcare, when a GC man calls trans ppl 'evil' because we're so upset at losing two more of our community to suicide, when another GC man becomes so obsessed he loses his family, friends and career, when GCs post about all the people who don't want to be around them anymore ↓ - with stories after stories, when you sit with the Heritage foundation or you're reposted by actual fascists etc etc ..yes, 'radicalised' is about right. Here, Ovarit, Spinster, Kiwi Farms..it doesn't matter where, it's all just deeply unhealthy and when I see ex-GCs I will always suggest that they should get away from this toxic, vile 'debate' that has hurt so many.

Would you like assistance with that enormous reach?

I mean, all we say is that men are men and as such, are a risk to women and girls.

That's it.

I don't even know what a GC TTC tattoo is, and if you are following people that do these things that upset you so much, perhaps stop?

‘ Men want to own and dominate the internet like they have owned and dominated all public physical space since the start of time.

They mostly succeed, as they have done since the start of time.

Mumsnet really, really pisses them off.

This. With bells on.’

This with knobs on, then bells on knobs - sort of 🎶 ding-dong knobby ding-dong on high🎶. Grin

Of course, Mumsnet pisses the them off, we see them for who they are & it ain’t that much.

Oh hang on

turbonerd · 24/03/2022 17:50

Yep, very happy (and alive) to have found mumsnet. And I don’t give two fucks about being called a terf. Worse things have happened 🤷🏽‍♀️

And it makes it doubly offensive when debates are cancelled because of squeeky voices claiming it is not safe/ranting about «literal violence» when they dont even know what it means.

I love the straight talking on this site. Factual, logic, no nonsense, compassionate.
Also the limericks. I have hiccuped with laughter at some of the Fantastic Limericks here.
