Some bearded American pillocks are objecting to the idea of Mumsnetters talking about feminism. Hadley Freeman and other feminists are doing an excellent job of responding.

That beardy chap on Twitter has done a great job of uniting and connecting women across the world

Thelnebriati · 24/03/2022 16:46

Clever, but nasty and it doesn't take long to see though it.

Dendrite · 24/03/2022 16:47

@DomesticatedZombie
The songs just keep rolling rolling rolling in don't they?

Rawhide.

@Ereshkigalangcleg

Funny how Twitter which has extremely poor moderation isn't being singled out.
Well, men use twitter and they might be inconvenienced by not doing. It has Nazis on there, not to mention a lot of genuine transphobia, but the rules for spaces catering primarily to women are of course quite different to those in places men want to use as well.
SafeMove · 24/03/2022 16:50

@SparklingConsequences

This really happened did it to the FC menz? Ay right. I call bullshit. 99.6% of people I know in RL think that trans women are not biological women and never can be. I mean, I know I live in the north, which may be less 'wokey' but come on, most typical people are nowhere near buying the TRA narrative. It bemuses them that they even try it on.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 24/03/2022 16:56

as surveys say, and they have created an army of female appearing bots. That is, in fact, what the whole of Mumsnet is

I read this and just get the image of the Austin Powers fembots Grin

Wish they'd make up their minds.

I'd only just got used to being a sock puppet ffs.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 16:56

Just don't mention the weetabix.

Nooo! And to be clear, the "best snacks" I mentioned was NOT WBH!

Of course. Important political discourse happens on Twitter and that can be robust, it's not just a load of silly fluff brains talking about prams and women's loos.

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 16:59

Just don't mention the weetabix.

Hmm There's always one. We're all vipering away merrily and someone has to go and lower the tone.

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 17:00

vipers talking diapers.

To make our US based posters feel welcome.

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 17:02

Yes, and it rhymes. Near rhymes.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 24/03/2022 17:05

drones cooking scones

This will now cause a fight about the pronunciation of scones....

It's 'gone' btw 😂

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 24/03/2022 17:06

I got a slating for reading a book by someone deemed a TERF.

Mary Wollstonecraft and A Vindication of the Rights of Woman have so much to answer for…

Sophoclesthefox · 24/03/2022 17:08

I’ll overlook the fact that you rhymed scones with drones (😡) in favour of the far more pertinent point of- what is a “GC TTC tattoo” when it’s at home and why does what three gender critical men do have anything whatsoever to do with a feminist board on a predominantly female website? Questions, questions…

Newsflash: most of humanity is “gender critical” in the sense that they understand where babies come from and have some awareness that sometimes this matters.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 24/03/2022 17:09

when you're celebrating the removal of trans adult's healthcare

You do realise this makes no sense in the UK context? Am I the only poster who has no idea of the alleged incidents to which this is referring?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 17:09

Yes, and it rhymes. Near rhymes.

Unlike scone and drone SmileHalo

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 17:09

It's 'gone' btw

What, someone's reported it already? Shock

Cross post 😬 I am that poster

It is “gone” of course or the “what’s the fastest cake in the world” joke doesn’t work!!

turbonerd · 24/03/2022 17:10

This reminds me to head over to Relationships. That board saved my life. Quite literally, over 8 yrs ago now.
I borrowed Lundy Bancroft at the library and concocted my escape secretly there with the baby in the pram. The «escape» came to nothing because the attempted murder came first; a literal attempt at silencing forever. Very nearly worked too. And he was a feminist, he will have you know.
My sons watched.

So if the bro’s are a teeny bit upset at women who won’t STFU, then my sympathy is limited.

On a lighter note: parklife 😄😄
I have now sung the whole rest of the thread to myself to the tune. 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️🥳😄

You are not.

And clearly, most posters here have no interest in removing anyones healthcare, were that even in our power. But it’s some nice mud to sling, so why let the truth stand in the way?

Oh, fuck only knows, Embarrassing. I just skip over the garbled 'AmericaFuckYeah' type of posts.
