If a women gets attacked it's all 'why was she there, what was she doing to cause the men to beat her up, was she committing a heinus crime of having an opinion'.

Here when we say 'why was he there, what was he doing etc etc' and it's all 'This looks bad, you look bad, blah blah blah'.

So transparent that TRAs know exactly what a woman is in a situation like this. The man is the one that can do anything and anyone not in 100% deference to the man is 'hatespeeching'.

terryleather · 24/03/2022 09:21

Maybe Ives should suck it up and stop "weaponising their trauma", like JKR and numerous other women have been told to do by TAs and their allies..

@CatherinaJTV

The tide is turning. Tick tock.

be careful what you wish for - just look at the "trend" in the US, where women's reproductive rights are being removed by the same types that are anti-LGBT (with the T).

Yes, yes you're right - the threat to women's reproductive rights in the US means I have no alternative but to believe in genderism and it's attendant MRA/TA movement Hmm

As I said, you're going to have to do better than that.

None of them have anything better than that.

She was recording the whole silly day because the she went into an area surrounded by people who despise her for existing

The people at the LGBA conference do not despise her for existing

They are strongly opposed to males accessing female spaces and colonising female identity. That was made very clear from the outset, and anyone attending the event did so on the understanding of abiding by those boundaries.

The fact that you think a conference for lesbians to be around other lesbians without male appropriation is a 'silly day' speaks volumes about your homophobia. (As well as raising the question why this person wanted to attend if it was just a 'silly day'. But I think we all know the answer to that.)

I've seen Ives at Funny Women a few years ago.

I concluded that Jen "identifies" as a comedian.

ScreamingMeMe · 24/03/2022 10:05

@CatherinaJTV

I know, right? Compared to what women are putting up with constantly - physical violence, death threats, threats of sexual violence, losing their jobs.

I am looking at the video of a man screaming at a woman who just stands there.

And you have nothing to say about all the things TRAs have done at all? How telling.
ScreamingMeMe · 24/03/2022 10:15

Remember the lesbians on chairs incident? They got chucked out for calmly sitting there and drinking wine.

I think I'll put together a resource thread of TRA aggression against GC people when I have some time. There are many examples.

sourdoughismyreligion · 24/03/2022 10:18

I love trends. Let's look at the trend of countries with appalling track records on gay rights and/or women's access to safe and legal abortion who are now being proclaimed as progressive utopia's because they've passed a couple of trans friendly laws.

Always reminds me somewhat of toddler group, where a kid freely bites and hits and throws at others, but sobs, distraught when someone so much as looks sideways at him.

Thing is, generally a toddler will grow out of it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 10:39

It's worth remembering that the large male aggressively screaming witch in a woman's face was autistic, and this was used as a reason by some TRAs to justify it, and the GC woman removed her video in sensitivity. Yet nothing like that seems to be happening here, and there is no sensitivity to this autistic man.

that's a) a bit patronising, assuming the perpetrator has no agency and b) shockingly ableist, using autism as a blanket excuse for this verbal assault
CatherinaJTV · 24/03/2022 10:50

autism is also often used as an "excuse" after men commit mass killings (in the US) and it just stigmatises a whole segment of the population.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 10:52

It has been said by many people that his ASD is a factor in his communication, you said earlier that if he couldn't control his rage he shouldn't go out in public. Is that a general opinion, applied to the Scottish witch TRA person too?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 10:52

Including his boyfriend.

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 24/03/2022 10:53

Oh no, someone didn't like the double standard pointed out did they.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 10:54

To be very clear, I don't think it is an "excuse " at all, but it requires more sensitivity to how a person with a learning disability (apologies if that's not the correct term) expressed strong feelings, I think. Can I assume we agree?

it is not the correct term, at least not when applied in a blanket fashion to autists.

I didn't know that the aggressor is autistic when I said he should not go out if he cannot contain his rage. Listening to his rant, which each (disgusting) CG insult/talking point placed, this appears planned and not a spontaneous outburst anyway.

Quaggars · 24/03/2022 11:22

Exactly, what does this have to do with women or feminism in terms of this board? This wasn't a specifically feminist event and no women were involved.

So... Trans issues are a concern and a conflict with woman's rights so absolutely a feminist issue....
until you get a situation like the harassment in this video and then it's an about turn and '' what has this got to do with feminism?! Nothing to do with us. '' 🙄
Erm... Why all the countless threads on people who are trans and where they should or shouldn't pee then?!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 11:23

In what sense does it appear planned?

Yeah but, no but, yeah but, no but, that's exactly what you sound like defending your double standards. Regarding the incident in Scotland the person who aggressively motored their mobility aid up shouting witch in the woman's face left a detailed record on their Social Media (since deleted) of exactly what they were planning to do that day.

Standards apply to both or neither but of course not in your world as the ones who share your view are exempt.
