So, trans woman infiltrates conference, row ensues. Who'd have though it?

On that thread, @Rhannion, a mumsnetter in attendance, reported

my friend got hit on the head with a board by one of their crowd!

Another poster asked if it had been an accident and @Rhannion confirmed not.

Oh it was definitely deliberate, she tried to bash her again, but one of the other woman grabbed the board and we got my friend away from it, she was upset and angry.

Did you miss that too, Catherina?

JellySaurus · 23/03/2022 22:49

@CatherinaJTV

and of course the behaviour of the taller person in that picture doesn't excuse the behaviour of the man in the video that this thread discusses. What a weird idea.
But the behaviour of the shorter man in wearing an LGBA hat justified his treatment by TRAs.

We see you.

Good question!

SparklingConsequences · 24/03/2022 07:38

@WinterTrees

Does anyone know who the bloke doing the filming/talking is?

I'm not sure if there's context, but his aggression is unpleasant and it's a huge shame that he behaved like this at an LGBA event as it brings their name into disrepute. Bev Jackson and Allison Bailey have been so calm, articulate and respectful in the way they engage with debate so this is really unfortunate.

"Our hate wasn't polite enough"

It's the same hideous abuse anti-trans activists lay upon trans ppl all the time, but this time on video and with shouting - the same recycled homophobia, the same debunked nonsense, the same misgendering, the same hate.

Even in this thread, you're (pl) trying to claim there's something nefarious about a trans person going to a anti-trans conference recording her experiences is something perverted, disgusting. She was recording the whole silly day because the she went into an area surrounded by people who despise her for existing. She got harassed for going to the toilet that she's legally and morally allowed to go into (feel free to claim that the venue had mad a SSE cos that would be one hell of a discrimination case)

The video was posted by the perp.

The perp's boyfriend (who previously tried to disrupt a pride march) then did a 'poor me' post claiming that it was all about the ASD (no ASD does not make you a hateful anrgy POS) and that he had been 'outed'..by his own actions and video. Then it turned out that this was a lie and that he had been outing himself publicly for a long while (including to his parents).

Y'all are mad about this because your hate got shown for what it is..but just not in quiet words, like you prefer.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 07:53

As pp said, it has nothing to do with the women on this thread, and further it's stunning hypocrisy to make such an overblown issue of two males having a nasty argument at an LGB conference, when TRAs have behaved in such utterly disgusting abusive ways towards gender critical women, including physical violence, and some of this has been captured on camera but what do you know, no one gives a fuck because we are women. Hope that helps.

He was recording women in the toilet right?

Who knows, but this person thought it would be funny to hint with another misogynist that they were. Because that's how they treat women.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 08:02

Necessary posted an account below from a woman who was there, I think it bears repeating:

o- back in the toilets at the LGBa conference, I pulled myself together and thought 'Don't worry, you're in a safe place, you're among women who will respect your experiences concerning homophobia and misogyny'

For the first time in my fcking life I felt secure and able to speak out freely.

And now I know that there was a male, wearing a 'wire', boasting about visiting those toilets, specifically looking for things to record and publish online.

It's disgusting. This boundary-breaking rape-culture behaviour couldn't be a bigger sign of male socialisation. But nobody sees it. Observers are so okay with it that they don't even stop to think about what effect that person being in there in the first place could have on women especially women experiencing some kind of vulnerability- women with stories of abuse, newly-come out lesbian women, differently-abled women, or absolutely any woman at all. Because all women have the right to say NO!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 08:06

The perp's boyfriend (who previously tried to disrupt a pride march)

That's an interesting way to write, "a gay man got surrounded by a threatening mob led by a straight woman and had to ask the police for safe passage, just for wearing an LGB Alliance hat, at a festival which he should have every right to be centred at"

Jen’s opener is “I’m a transwoman. Do you know what that is? I’m just like any other woman in this room, except I don’t have empathy.”

Shock Hiding in plain sight or what?

Hasselhoffsheadband · 24/03/2022 08:07

@SparklingConsequences do you have any comment at all on the many examples of hatred towards women that have been referenced on this thread? Or is it only women who are to be responsible for the actions of everyone?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 08:11

What we should be concerned about is, was he recording women in the toilet or not? He certainly infers he has so should this be investigated as a specific crime?

I believe someone did actually report it to the police via Twitter, I don't know what happened so I'm sure they were as helpful to women as ever.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/03/2022 08:17

I do find it mildly amusing that after years of the way women have been treated by TRAs, two men have a row and we are all supposed to wail and rant about how this is such a hate crime and how we are all wrong and on and on.

I find it quite typical. It's the TRA MO. They're good at persuading people that women just saying no to them are awful and their needs are unspeakable and that misogynistic, abusive behaviour is "activism".

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 24/03/2022 08:17

I do lol at the TW coming on here clambering over the mile high pile of evidence of physical & emotional of women by TW which they completely ignore to wag their fingers at us as if we’re responsible for twoblokesarguinggate cos reasons whilst simultaneously saying that the shitty behaviour of TRA is just evidence of shitty behaviour by that one person and anyway it’s ok cos women deserve it

Maybe just maybe you could stop & thibk about your anger about this and then understand that’s how women are feeling all the time….

I really doubt any of the poppers on MN are genuinely trans. The trans people I know hate this shit and get annoyed by those who claim to speak for 'the trans community'.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 24/03/2022 08:50

Me too Don but if they say are…..

Aside from anything else, I can't see how this incident in any way undermines the sterling work that the LGB Alliance are doing.

Given that their conference was attended by some individuals who were there in less than good faith, shall we say, I think they were and have remained remarkably dignified and focused.

Not to mention on the right side of history.

CatherinaJTV · 24/03/2022 09:14

The tide is turning. Tick tock.

be careful what you wish for - just look at the "trend" in the US, where women's reproductive rights are being removed by the same types that are anti-LGBT (with the T).

sanluca · 24/03/2022 09:16

Womens reproductive rights? You mean 'people with wombs' reproductive rights, don't you?
