How very disingenuous of you to mislead anyone reading your post who isn't aware of the case that the case was dropped against Marion Miller. Because it was nonsense. And the complainant did not use his right to a review of the Procurator Fiscal's decision not to continue the case. Because it was nonsense.

If they owe JKR everything and shouldn't speak out against her then the same could be said for Weinstein and that's something I will never agree with. Yes the situations are different and you can't compare JKR and Weinstein, but the context of "wouldn't be anything without them"/boss VS employee/if she hadn't written the books they wouldn't have had the job/if he hadn't produced (or whatever it is he did) the film they wouldn't have had a job is still there.

Ok. So finally, it was shown to be a bedsheet with 'Respect our existence or expect our resistance' which is a chant about voting. Like 'respect our sex or you don't get our 'x' '. It certainly didn't have anyone's name written on the sign. It was a political slogan and not a threat.

I'm not a big fan of the whole 'they owe everything to JKR' (I just think that saying nothing while you've seen a person you apparently saw as a mentor and friend be bombarded with rape and death threats and saying nothing to condemn such threats is deeply unpleasant) but your statement above is untrue. It's common knowledge that JKR had a enormous amount of input into the films - to the extent that she insisted that all the main (possibly all?) actors be British.
