It appears she said at the BAFTAs 'I am here for all of the witches... bar one'

Disappointing but not unexpected.

She did.

One poster already has anyway, think I've got the right person

Hasselhoffsheadband · 17/03/2022 17:11
@Hasselhoffsheadband Because it's a shitty thing to say and who am I to question someones acting ability, perhaps? I'd probably say I dont like their acting.
You've never watched a film and thought 'god that person can't act for shit'!?

Saying someone 'is a shit actor' is a statement if opinion, its clearly not objective fact. So it's the same as saying 'I don't like their acting'.

By the way this thread is about to fill up so I am just playing you at your own game and arguing about absolutely fuck all now - enjoy! Grin

Has what? Provided evidence of what?
Helleofabore · 17/03/2022 17:13

What's wrong with saying someone is a shit actor?!

Particularly if movie studios are expecting people to pay to see that actor in a movie. It is not like they are providing a free service or doing a charity event. People are expected to pay to see this person's work.

LaTisaniere · 17/03/2022 17:18

I'll clarify - I, personally wouldn't say that someone is a shit actor. You obviously can. Do I get offended by people saying someone is a shit actor? No. Do I think its shitty to add it to a thread which started as a pile-on of shitty remarks insulting Emma Watson's everything? Yeah, duh. So I included it in the list of shitty things people said. Nice to see that that's the only comment you clung onto though, almost seems like you don't give a shit that people were writing many shitty things about another woman, almost. I also don't particularly care if you want to argue with me, I currently have nothing to do so am more than happy to continue my lovely 😏

Hasselhoffsheadband · 17/03/2022 17:21

Yes, that is abundantly clear.

LaTisaniere · 17/03/2022 17:26

Let me just say that you are on a roll , I mean I feel told.
@RufustheFloralmissingreindeer Thanks for answering, I wouldn't say someone is a shit actor but other than that my opinion lines up with yours.
No problem

And hopefully you know that i was being a bit tongue in cheek/silly with my ‘dont yell’ comment, i was a bit concerned that my ‘not all are insults’ might be taken as me trying to get out of answering

LaTisaniere · 17/03/2022 17:46

@RufustheFloralmissingreindeer Haha don't worry, I figured you weren't completely serious but didnt want you to think I was laughing at you in case you were.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 17/03/2022 17:48

Thank you 🙂

ladygindiva · 17/03/2022 17:50

She is a shit actor though.

autienotnaughty · 17/03/2022 18:33

@SamphiretheStickerist you realise your statistics earlier make no sense? You understand that women make up roughly 51% of uk population comparable to 1% of population for transgender men and women. Also taking the figures for men murdering women, (absolutely abhorrent by the way) trans women would not be included in those figures as by law they are women so if you want to consider how many trans women are murdering women you are looking at the wrong gender. But I did try to find evidence of any trans women murdering women in uk and I can not find any. Nor can I find evidence of women murdering trans women.

MargaritaPie · 17/03/2022 18:39

Almost 1,000 replies on something Emma allegedly said (we can't be certain what she said and meant and we're speculating).

Don't you think some here are a little hard on her? Her "crime" was just to speak up in support of trans-people a while back and she gets a pile-on.

No, I think 'hard' on someone is sending messages such as 'choke on my girl dick', 'you dried up old cunt', 'just die bitch' 'I wish you pipe bomb in the mail' or going to a march and holding up banners saying #killJKRowling and Rot in Hell Rowling.

Can you please point out which posters on this thread have been 'hard' on Emma Watson in an equivalent way?

For such a small percentage of the population, transwomen sure do commit a lot of violent sexual crimes

LaTisaniere · 17/03/2022 19:52

So some people have been subject to really bad insults, so it's ok to insult other people with just "bad" insults because others have it worse? Gotcha.

In an equivalant way?
It's not a competition Hmm

Exactly
If it's not as bad as this extremism example, then it doesn't count.
Or something.

No, I'm saying that what has been said about Emma Watson on this thread pales in comparison to what those on Emma's 'side' have said - the very people that she defends.
LaTisaniere · 17/03/2022 19:59

Alrighty, so because people who support Emma (of which she has no control, by the way) have said awful things to JKR, its therefore ok when people say bad things about Emma, because at least it's not as bad as things that have been said to JKR? That's your logic, really?

OldCrone · 17/03/2022 20:03

No. Read carefully (again).

It's the people who Emma supports who have said these things. She doesn't have to support people who say things like 'choke on my girl dick', she chooses to. She has control over who she chooses to support. It's her choice to support them.

Hasselhoffsheadband · 17/03/2022 20:07

Yes I am saying that. The things said about Emma Watson on this thread are not even comparable to what JK Rowling has been subjected to. They are not even 'bad things' - some people said she was a shit actress, so what? Are we not allowed to speak negatively of people in the public eye now?

Also, Emma Watson believes that the males who have been sending JK Rowling threats of sexual and physical violence are the same males who should be allowed into female spaces if they feel like it.

But yeah, spend an entire day berating posters on Mumsnet for saying that she is a Shock shit actor.

oh dear! I remember posters constantly posting about a woman who posted a picture of a ribbon on twitter! And those posters speculating what that woman meant with the special ribbon she posted on twitter.

Quite something to see you write this Pie.

LaTisaniere · 17/03/2022 20:14

Yeah, take the literal least problematic comment on this thread and run with it if it makes you happy.

But ok when the day comes that some bully calls my future 10 year old daughter a cunt, I'll tell her to stop being so ridiculous because JKR has been called worse, don't ya know.
