I've never wished I could be as wrong as I hope to be, given that my gut is telling me what the outcome will be. But I really hope I can come here tomorrow & say I absolutely called it wrong. I'll happily say I know feck all if FPFW get a result.

Well I'm having a shit day and this has made it worse. Honestly could cry - Scotland is such a rotten place to be a woman.

Scotland are on a very slippery slope, this isn’t unexpected although incredibly upsetting for Scottish women. they are revelling in their rainbows but I think this will all come tumbling down. I noted many many voices raised in anger about the Scott’s being in the top 100 stonewall list. Just shit really for women and kids.

A census based on lies. Pointless.

Self identification of sex is not legal. I sincerely hope every woman in Scotland self identifies as a different sex, race, religion, income bracket, the lot.

Odd to think that this was the land of the Enlightenment and reason.

MBM statement sums up the ramifications of this decision.

"... The ramifications of this judgement extend beyond Scotland’s census. It will cement Scottish Government guidance that advises public authorities to collect data that conflates sex and self-defined gender identity. It will impact on the ability of public authorities to meet their Public Sector Equality Duty requirements to monitor and assess policies in line with the protected characteristics.
And as we explained to the Cabinet Minister and Scottish Government officials, it means that the impact of gender recognition reform cannot be assessed. The Scottish Government was unable to respond to this point."

This is shocking news, it splits Scotland from the rest of the U.K. for one - the data will no longer be unified and reliable but if this is what the SNP want to go down in history for then let it bite them in the arse at the voting booth.

It's depressing and worrying but we will keep going. I'm thinking of all the women in Scotland today and thanks to FPFW and FWS and all those fighting. We carry on, always.

I think she's saying it's a very narrow decision and has no application or influence beyond the census. Expect she sees it as the wrong decision.

This is what I am wondering - we need to come up with some sort of coordinated response to this.

"Sex matters" for Religion?
Men to self-ID as women?
Refuse to fill in the census as it can no longer meet its purpose?

If you can self identity then I guess it is up to the men in Scotland to identify as female. How many will do this when it's not their fight. What can women do? It is a legal requirement to fill in the form do it is difficult to protest.

Though this only applies to the census does this mean it will be seen as the gold standard for self ID?

Scotland is a joke under the so called progressive leadership of the SNP - high on the smell of its own farts, without a strong opposition, a supine media and judiciary and everything else ideologically captured.

I refuse to bow down to this ideologically driven pseudo reality they want to force on us and I absolutely will not wheesht.
