Please sign into CSP and look at the new iCSP discussion "Stonewall and the CSP"

A great thread beginning and agreement that stonewall are problematic and women's rights are being overlapped by male rights

Then a HUGE ESSAY by a TRA

Sad

She says it was vexatious, so, multiple, repeated, baseless complaints?

I wonder if any were in-house?

RadFizz · 03/03/2023 20:50

It appears that two members of the council have resigned. Not sure what's going on. https://twitter.com/ashmorephysio

Calyx72 · 03/03/2023 21:57

Gosh. Thanks for the heads up. No idea what it's about either. Two in quick succession makes me think something may have happened but neither have given anything away just saying no time to deliver the innovation and change required, also mentioned her values and standards of professionalism (Katherine Ashmore)

OP posts:
RadFizz · 03/03/2023 22:02

Katherine's tweets over the past few days are about leadership and true leaders putting others first and being able to admit when things are going wrong. Is she referring to anyone in particular?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 05/03/2023 00:01

why are my fees going up, then? Csp had loadsamoney icsp

im so annoyed - it looks like they just sit in their silo being pleased with themselves and not listening to the membership while charging us a fortune to be told that we are transphobic if we don’t bring our —fetish— whole self to work

im honestly thinking of doing something else . I liked it when we did science and it made sense.

now we’ve got a council by election? Has that even happened before?

RadFizz · 05/03/2023 13:25

Not sure @stealtheatingtunnocks. I looked on the website and they still have 10 council members so surely that's enough?

Agreed. I really am not happy with the increase.

I see Elaine wasn't successful at the by-election but given it was her first go at politics, I doubt she was expecting to be. Good on her though!

Calyx72 · 10/03/2023 22:53

4% of the first votes, I am impressed 😃

OP posts:
stealtheatingtunnocks · 14/03/2023 02:33

Yes, that’s not far off the list vote qualifier. Elaine for Holyrood? Probably not for Holroyde?

this made me raise an eyebrow. The CSP could do to reflect on the thing or two.Total lack of self awareness

Calyx72 · 15/03/2023 07:12

I know and yes I agree.

Does this mean Katherine’s Twitter was suspended? Did she tweet out of turn and the CSP report her? Im beginning to see conspiracy theories

New thread on institutional capture of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists:

Speech Therapy RCSLT WPATH EDI Institutional Capture

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4770258-speech-therapy-rcslt-wpath-edi-institutional-capture

Apart from the impact on individual professional bodies this does not bode well for the HCPC, which is already staggering about under the influence of Gender Identity Ideology.

RadFizz · 24/03/2023 17:11

Funnily enough I saw on Twitter earlier that the RCSLT CEO has just retired.

I think you're correct. It's part of a pattern of capture of subgroups, then professional groups, then the legal regulator.
Very very concerning.
Or, a pathway for women to fight back.
Instead of rolling your eyes when your professional body is looking for volunteers to organise special interest groups etc., stop letting men take ownership.
Particularly in female dominated professions.

RadFizz · 25/03/2023 12:45

Exactly, although I doubt CSP's LGBT+ network would've accepted a GC lesbian as chair.

FionaMacCool · 25/03/2023 13:16

But, @RadFizz , the question is, why?
Because the group is now populated by one viewpoint, which is driving policy...right up to national level.
I absolutely understand women's reluctance to get involved in the unpaid work of joint these groups. There's enough on our plates, with minding children running to after school clubs, prepping meals, running homes, caring for older relatives, volunteering on the parents council in schools, running the u7's sports groups.
To then have to turn around and join these groups also?
Ooof.

But this is where it has got us.
The gay men, or straight men with supportive wives, have the time to get involved in these lower level groups, and use them to hop to the next level. CV's littered with references to having been involved in running the special interest group in ACL-Rehab/stroke-rehab/ swallow research/ hand-injuries etc etc etc.

I've seen it happen.... women pulling together information from the ground, to develop a presentation to a Dail committee (Irish parliament). Guess who was on TV in the Dail? Male.

I just wish all these diversity initiatives would address the real problems of racism, disablism and sexism within the NHS.

But now it seems like the moment you mention the words diversity and inclusion, the trans/gender ideology lobby jump on it to the exclusion of other problems.

Calyx72 · 27/03/2023 15:17

I agree @RadFizz

HCPC are updating their EDI standards. There is a webinar coming up - I hope there is a guide to basic greetings in Polish/Arabic/Urdu so I can welcome my patients who have ESL, or Makaton for those with LD, or understanding menopause impacts for middle aged women, or faith requirements for Orthodox Jews, etc Shall we all sign up and drink every time they say “trans”?
