Its hard to describe how angry this article made me. I am sick to the back teeth of the lies and slurs being told about women who want to protect absolutely basic rights and safeguarding.

Dinosaurs who want to 'hoard' rights. That's the contempt that the Labour party has for women in prisons who are assaulted and intimidated by the males they are now being housed with. Dinosaurs who want to hoard rights are traumatised women who are too scared to access refuges that males might be in. Dinosaurs who want to hoard rights are women athletes who reject being told to 'be kind' and hand over what they have worked their hold life for, to males who have an inbuilt biological advantage.

Women really aren't entitled to anything but insults when they try to speak up for themselves in the Labour party. Ironic really that we are called Dinosaurs when the Labour party is clearly reverting to its unionist roots when unions wanted to keep women in their place to protect male members advantage.

But most disgusting is the utterly unself-aware and hypocritical way Lammy advocates for positive discrimination for black men, a group of people he can understand face disadvantage (being one), so he wants to increase HIS social groups rights rights whilst gleefully not only removing women's basic rights but throwing insults at us for objecting to this.

That's it. Not only will I not vote for Labour again but I am going to become an active campaigner against them. They are beyond disgusting in their utter misogyny.

WH have obviously changed their editorial stance, about time, but I feel in the case of Murray there was some ageism as well as misogyny that Emma Barnett may not be up against

Great thinking! That would be a great PR trick. A group of women delivering a doorstep and inviting David to tell them why we are dinosaurs for wanting women to be safe in prison. (and males to be safe, but out priority is for females).

We need a wheelbarrow and some spray paint.

The irony is by answering the question in the way that he did he was implying that he believes trans women are not women.

It’s probably the case that only uh that transwomen don’t have ovaries, but a cervix, I understand, is something that you can have following various procedures and hormone treatments and all the rest of it.

Except that clitorises and cervixes cannot be 'grown' through cross-sex hormones, implanted or transplanted (as the surgeon is not substituting like for like but implant like silicon implants for breasts).

Clitorises are larger than what you see on the surface and have a complex nerve system. It's only been realised recently due to ignorance about women's bodies.

All that even the best surgeon can do is to create a pseudo-vagina made of tissue (taken from another part of the person's body) that needs to be dilated daily.

A pseudo-vagina lacks the qualities of a vagina: it is not self-cleaning, does not lead to the cervix, does not self-lubricate etc. The pseudo-vagina has the qualities of the transplanted tissue. For example, if tissue is taken from the forearm and that area still has hair follicles, the pseudo-vagina risk growing hair. If tissue from the pseudo-vagina is taken from the intestine, it is populated with intestinal bacteria.

Transwomen cannot develop the types of cancers - vulval, vaginal, cervical, uterine, ovarian etc - that women develop as they lack these organs.

This time, no apologies for the soapbox! It's important that people recognise the difference between male and female genitalia and reproductive organs.

And that means people that the inexcusably ignorant David Lammy and the majority of the Labour Party.

I'm wondering about elderly people, people with dementia in particular, who might need help with washing and personal care.

I assume it would heal up but given where it is in the body there would be a very high chance of infection and possibly issues of odour.

I have read before that there have been anecdotal cases of transwomen succumbing to dementia and amongst the things they've forgotten is the transition. I wonder if any academics are attempting to study this. I don't imagine there are many cases.

There is a reality television series about a teenager in the US who has gender reassignment surgery. One of the clips shows the person's mother threatening to do the dilation if the person does not do the dilation themselves. There is more to the clip but I prefer to gloss over it.
