Oh Detroit, I’m so sorry about your wrecked clothes. Does the laundry service have any kind of social media presence? Because if so, going public anonymously (iyswim - so using images showing clearly shrunken clothes + receipt with any identifying info removed; & warning everyone everywhere not to use the service). I realise it sounds facetious, but it’s genuinely a shame “Judge Judy” isn’t an option in your personal circumstances because you’d recoup [some of] the loss (albeit not the sentimental value) & that dreadful woman would be exposed. You might not realise you’d shrunk someone’s clothing slightly, but it’s impossible to miss your having taken the clothes of an adult human to wash & somehow returned clean those of a doll. If anyone ever deserved full-body contact dermatitis & an allergy to all laundry products it’s her

I don't dare complain on social media because of my unique situation. It would not be safe, as they might link me with my situation and the know my name and address. I have to eat the loss. It's ok. I'm used to not having clothing options/ dirty clothes, and one pair of jeans and three wearable tees is not the end of the world. It's just sad. Thankfully I was wearing my velvet underground tee.

Just more confirmation that people can basically do what the fuck they like to me and I have to take it

In other news my dv worker laughed very inappropriately at me in our monthly meet. Really shook me up. She's very unsympathetic. Not helpful at all. It's so hard when everyone expects - including me - that there is help and there is none. It's so hard to explain how little help there is for me. I'm constantly explaining how fucked I am to her. She just doesn't understand.
