Just in case anyone is interested, there's a book on women's education called 'Bluestockings' available on kindle at the moment for 99p. Just read the first couple of chapters as a taster. Seems really interesting!

I'm sorry the movers were so careless as to smash the table. I'm pleased the sofa and side table are OK.

Pure luxury....and the smashed table top. I was looking back at photos from a few years back. I was shocked in retrospect. Don't know how I survived.

Is it possible for someone to cut that marble down safely for you and bevel the edges to either create another table top or a very useful surface for the kitchen area?

I'm being published in a local newspaper that benefits the homeless, they sell it on the street and get a bit of money. Book should be out late this year, possibly early next year...and am involved in setting up a new culture mag with the publisher. I might actually be able to survive...

Why are we listening to Lammy? She's a dragon (off-shoot of snakes and the 'worm that never dies) and she's fiercely protecting the rights not hoarding them.

Hello (sneaks in shamefaced at being away so long). Sequential covid here, last one out of isolation tomorrow. So I’ll just be in that quiet comfortable corner with a pot of tea and absolutely no-one that I’m related to. I will be in for breakfast tomorrow too. I might have ordered a dinosaur pin. David Lammy achieved the impressive feat of re-peaking my dh without my even saying a word.
I hope you’re ok Detroit, sounds like you’ve had a tough time. I will be going back to that song once my voice is back.
