The only thing I find unconvincing about Jean Luc Picard is that he'd prefer scientific tea. Bergamot oil is nice in bath products but gets right up my nose in tea.
Not quite as bad as lapsang souchon though.

Scented. Ffs autocorrect.

The only addition to tea I find acceptable is jasmine or genmatcha with the roasted rice pieces. I'm with you. Picard liking scented bathroom cleaner tea is improbable. I don't want to go out. I do want tea.

DetroitNeedsADog · 07/09/2021 20:34

How do we feel about pu'er? It tastes of charcoal to me...

That made me giggle , your auto correct is quite special

Ffs I've just discovered that I can no longer drink ordinary tea as it makes my heart race. So am changing over to decaff (Earl Grey real tea, obvs). When my order arrives I can brew up for you all to try suffer it with me.

And please can I put in a plea for ordinary crisps (walkers) as. Alice ones are shite?. Grin

Oh and so many things have been getting my goat recently that I'm still hogging it over here, Apols.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2021 15:54

I sometimes like vanilla tea or Indian chai, but generally stick to Yorkshire, regular in the day, decaf in the evening. DH (who does all our shopping since we went totally online) buys it in industrial quantities for me.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 08/09/2021 20:37

Jasmine and Darjeeling are both good.
Pu'er is over-rated.

Also, @ablutiions, what are Alice crisps?

I'm trying to keep up with the clever people on the Judith Butler thread and failing.

DetroitNeedsADog · 08/09/2021 21:12

I have teabags! Good old breakfast blend! I had some white tea from the Chinese teahouse a while back, it was so nice, unsweetened but kinda sweet.

Have I told you all how much I love mumsnet?

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2021 22:18

I cannot abide Earl Grey to drink, but it adds a certain something to a tea loaf. Lapsang souchon, though - mmmm. Used to love rose pouchong, too. Now, mainly drink builders, black, stewed until the mug starts to dissolve. With occasional days of jasmine.
There. How fascinating was that rundown of 3oW's tea habits?
Nightcaps all round?

Oh, Detroit: white tea is lovely. Not wild about pu'er.

ablutiions · 09/09/2021 18:31

@GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman it's meant to say naice. Grin

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 09/09/2021 18:52

Grin All is explained, thank you.

I've left a plate of Earl Grey cupcakes on the bar, complete with mauve icing. Dig in before Gertrude and Camilla snaffle the lot.

Some potentially good news - very clear statement from the US attorney general.

There is something so lovely about flirting and being flirted with when it is not some hulk of a dude that I've no interest in...but a really cool pretty grrrll. I am so out of practice that I am all awkward. Shit, I am too old for this, aren't I! Im still convincing myself that I am not being ridiculous. Shit...someone stuff a cupcake in my mouth and stop me!

Statutory Instruments (SIs) are a form of legislation which allow the provisions of an Act of Parliament to be subsequently brought into force or altered without Parliament having to pass a new Act. They are also referred to as secondary, delegated or subordinate legislation.

Pub-goers will be interested in SI 2021 No.1020.

www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi?page=1

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 10/09/2021 09:01

I can't find it, @Coffeeisnotthedrinkforme. It looks as if SIs go up to 1010 this year.

QuentinBunbury · 10/09/2021 09:02

Shit, I am too old for this, aren't I!
Er you what?? No you aren't! If she's happy all is good.....be careful of yourself tho cos sounds like you have lots going on which might make you a bit vulnerable

ErrolTheDragon · 10/09/2021 09:05

Sounds delightful, Detroit - take it nice and gentle, no rush.Smile

I found the link you meant, coffee but it gave an error.

OP posts:
DetroitNeedsADog · 10/09/2021 19:47

Absolutely nothing serious. I am not up for a relationship, just a little flirtation with someone I bump into a lot doing my daily errands!

Coffeeisnottheonlydrink · 15/09/2021 07:26

Link now mended.

www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2021/1020/article/2/made

“It is not an offence under section 22 of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 to disclose protected information if the disclosure is necessary for a purpose set out in paragraph (2).
(2) The purposes are—
(a)the probation purposes,

(b)the performance of functions relating to prisons or prisoners of—

(i)the Secretary of State, or

(ii)a relevant contractor, and

(c)any other purposes connected with the management of offenders (including the development or assessment of policies relating to matters connected with the management of offenders).”

Good news for those concerned about vulnerable women in prison.

Good news that the Ministry of Justice thinks that sex can matter.

SpringCrocus · 15/09/2021 23:33

Oh good god give me a bucket of gin
Woke child took exception to me responding to a comment from they, in exactly the same way they would have responded to the same comment from me.
Regarding random person relationship/sexuality/gender id.
Sauce for the goose is apparently NOT sauce for the gander!
Thank goddess Uni term starts in a week.
Need alcohol and snacks. And Camilla soothing dribble. And soothing blankie

ErrolTheDragon · 15/09/2021 23:56
