Glinner is an utter, utter genius, and it's a tragedy that he has all but been abandoned by his industry. I worry a lot about him. His marriage, health and career have taken a huge hit for the GC cause, and he said on a recent Mess We're In that he is worried about money. I don't know what, if anything, came of the proposed Father Ted stage show, but I imagine trying to get producers behind him in that industry has been all but impossible. He said recently he is working on another project, I really hope he gets the backing for it. If you can crowd fund a comedy, I'll happily chip in.
Pleased to watch his shows, and help remind the industry that we still want more Glinner comedies. I've been re-watching Count Arthur Strong on Netflix (it's so good, much more consistently funny than the R4 version), and will be watching Black Books next.
I'm also a grateful subscriber to Glinner's Substack, he's a good source of info on the batshittery going on on twitter and elsewhere, he sifts through that shit so I don't have to.
BTW, best thing on IT Crowd: Street Countdown, and Jen and Jorg in the smokers' gulag: "I hear the ballet in Prague is excellent this season."
