Well it's all kicking off at the spa. An amazing woman behind the desk standing up for women and telling a man where to take his penis. I fear she will lose her job over this but it's a glorious way to go.

Embarrassing, I'm almost afraid to ask, what is a virtuous paedophile? Confused

ISaySteadyOn · 06/07/2021 09:38

I think it means someone who has those feelings but never ever acts on them, maybe.

EyesOpening · 06/07/2021 09:40

@Beefcurtains79

The Washington post also had the story the other day about how kids should be exposed to kinks at pride didn’t it?

What a nonce rag.

“Yes it was one of their writers. She has a trans partner (not sure about the details and don’t know if she has kids). Ho him. I dont think it went down all that well though.”

She does have children. In the kink article, she was saying how important it is that her toddler is exposed to people showing off their sexual kinks.

That is very disturbing

Embarrassing, I'm almost afraid to ask, what is a virtuous paedophile? Confused
From Wikipedia:

Virtuous Pedophiles is an Internet-based mutual support group for pedophiles who acknowledge having a sexual interest in children and do not act on their attraction.[1][2] Members support each other in trying to lead normal lives without committing child sexual abuse. Members share the belief that sexual activity between adults and children is wrong and always will be.[3] They also work against the stigma attached to pedophiles…

Virtuous Pedophiles is a forum which takes a firm stand against child sexual exploitation of any kind, including viewing child pornography. There are a number of pedophile organizations in the world, but most of them are either unclear about their attitude towards sexual contact with children or actively campaign to lower age-of-consent laws and to legalize sexual acts with children or child pornography. Virtuous Pedophiles instead accepts these laws and aims to help pedophiles "lead happy, productive and law-abiding lives"

---

However, there are overlaps with MAPs and others who are comfortable with the abuse/pornography as long as they don't act for variations on act - and there are those who transage so that it doesn't count as pedophilia, just a 'littlie' and a child interacting, IYSWIM.

alkanet · 06/07/2021 10:03

Thanks Embarrassing. Still makes my scalp creep though.

HecatesCatsInFancyHats · 06/07/2021 10:39

There was also Dutch psychologist Madeleine van der Bruggen's Ted Talk about why we must sympathise with paedophiles. Because empathy is reserved for males whatever their behaviour and not women and girls in say, female only spaces in spas, or in the female prison estate, or indeed child victims of abuse. THIS is patriarchy:

“I truly do believe that every person is longing for love at some point in their life.

“And what if this love that you really wish for will forever be impossible?
“That must be a really lonely situation to be in."

@Sophoclesthefox - thanks for your response, it’s appreciated. Glad I didn’t come across that way.

The more that’s added to this thread, the more hopeless/helpless I feel. Am almost wishing I hadn’t had my eyes opened - am hoping that’s a normal reaction for someone fairly new.

Am going to carry on lurking/reading and try to figure out what I can actually DO - too nervous to bring this up irl at the moment, so this space is important.

Completely normal. 💪

Yes it is normal. I find it quite exhausting at times. But it's better to know.

Furries

Buckle up Furries. It can be a bit bumpy.

But you have to remember that you actually have a group of inspiring women behind you too. Many post here on this board and I learn from them every single day.

And, you will find that despite what some groups like to tell us, the majority of people can see the issues clearly.

highame · 06/07/2021 11:30

Virtuous Paedophiles now when I saw that, my first thought was that these are people who will only have sex with a child if the child agrees. In plain sight is always a bit of a worry

@furries I've been on this board for around a year but I've been shocked at the amount of posters (on this thread and on the AIBU question) which seem absolutely determined to minimise indecent exposure. When I first heard about this incident, I honestly thought hopefully this is the spur for people who were determined this is all about transphobia to realise the slippery slope of self ID etc and it has been astounding to see the move from 'it'll never happen' to 'you shouldn't be looking anyway, you moral panicker'.

InspiralCoalescenceRingdown · 06/07/2021 12:24

I might've missed this being posted already, but Helen Steel has commented on the Wi Spa protests:

Comes kinda natural like doesn't it?

Furries · 06/07/2021 12:53

Thanks all, good to know it’s normal to feel like that. Will definitely buckle up. Won’t derail this thread further, am glad I’ve found this space.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 06/07/2021 13:05

@Helleofabore

I was horrified on another thread yesterday that people were discrediting the mother of the 6 year old because she spoke clumsily of her motivations for being there.

because ’she said she went nude with her daughter to be "culturally with it" because that's what Koreans do.

people felt ‘her’ experience was to be ignored.

Of course the first poster who posted that believed that there was no problems at all. Assuming the man was not doing anything wrong (other than being a man) I don't see the problem.

I get the feeling that penis apologists, here & elsewhere, are casting around desperately for something - anything - they can use to discredit a woman & invalidate her experiences & her words.

We've seen it for years: we're young, silly, old, bitter, shouty, quiet, over-emotional, upper class, middle class, 'lower class', working class, - you name it, it will be used as a 'reason' to ignore our concerns & try to shame us into silence.

With wokery there's whole new lexicon of shame & derision, a brand new box of dogwhistles to announce, "This woman here! She's wrong! Ignore what she says & attack her at will!".

I don't understand what was deemed to be wrong in that quote. What are we supposed to be horrified by? Cultural appropriation in going to a spa that's open to everybody, & using it as it's meant to be used? Use of the word 'culturally'? I see nothing there that would make me dismiss that woman as unworthy to be listened to.

I know. The stench of misogyny and racism is appalling.

Sonarl · 06/07/2021 13:14

That account by the CSA survivor is just so powerful. I am incredulous that there are adults out there now advocating the old cover it up, brush it under the carpet, avert your eyes approach - making themselves look like utter, utter monsters, in the name of woke points. It's baffling.

Absolutely bang on.
TheWeeDonkey · 06/07/2021 13:21

I'm amazed. I know I shouldn't be. Its like people's brains fell out. How can anyone justify this?

How do they think Larry Nassar, Jimmy Saville, Harvey Weinstein, the Catholic Church and any other number of predators got away with what they did for so long?

Because the people who were supposed to stop this happening would rather have an easy life and reap the benefits of what these people were offering them rather than stick up for their vulnerable victims.

It is so enraginging, whenever I hear lessons will be learned, the only people who learn are the predators learning how to get away with it better. Here we have it in plain sight and people are still accepting it!

OldCrone · 06/07/2021 13:23

I felt like this when I heard about Karen White, a male sex offender, who was placed in a women's prison. (I just checked the date, and this was nearly 3 years ago.)

I thought this would be a turning point, and people would see that TWAW was an absurd position to take, but all that happened was minimising and excuses from the government and others who were responsible for this 'error'.

I really can't imagine now what will have to happen to change this.

Rapists in women's prisons - apparently fine because TWAW.

Males in a women's spa with naked women and girls - apparently fine because TWAW so that's a 'woman's penis', and don't look if you don't want to see it (not sure how that stops the male from looking at the women and girls, though).

Siblingquandary · 06/07/2021 13:25

I've been told it s ok because 'men get raped in prison too'

Isn't it just. Even worse is the total disregard for children and their safety, privacy, dignity and comfort - children for ffs.
