Well it's all kicking off at the spa. An amazing woman behind the desk standing up for women and telling a man where to take his penis. I fear she will lose her job over this but it's a glorious way to go.

To my mind, creating an environment where males can view female genitalia without consent is a sexual offence

And children.

RedDogsBeg · 05/07/2021 14:02

@umbel

I’m inclined to agree with your appraisal RedDodsBeg but I do with Quaggars would have the courage of their conviction and just come out and say it, rather than leading us all round the houses. It’s so tiresome.
I too wish Quaggars had the courage of her convictions umbel, that is her view, she stands by it, is comfortable with it, proud of it and surely can defend it, so why the reluctance to stand up and be counted for it?

GC women, on the other hand do have the courage of their convictions and are prepared to stand up and be counted and take the inevitable threats and abuse for doing so.

I'm very troubled about this case. It's not just about indecent exposure or lewd conduct, but also about a male who has demanded the right to be in an environment where they can view the naked bodies of little girls.

Exactly. The fact he got his penis out is additional.

He, and the spa, absolutely think he's got the right to pay to look at naked children on their premises.

This all day long, the whole thing is just so unbelievably chilling as is the mindset of those who support this.

Zinnia Jones is quite a prominent TRA *and has said equally sickening things in the past).

This isn't ever going to happen, and I suggest the best thing is to ignore.

TheWeeDonkey · 05/07/2021 16:09

That last tweet sounds a lot like the narcissists prayer which shouldn't really surprise me.

We can expect another name change now I should think.
OldTurtleNewShell · 05/07/2021 16:21

Zinnia's made comments about wanting to make changing room 'cis'/trans porn so its pretty clear how Zinnia views women's spaces.

Helleofabore · 05/07/2021 16:30

It is interesting how the fall back always seems to be about why parents allow their children into same sex spaces to get changed or whatever the space is for.

Like, instinctively they know that it is so very, very wrong for children to be exposed like this, so for the sake of inclusion they will deride the parenting for decisions based on generations of communal same sex activity. We see it all the time people deflect when they cannot answer the Staniland question.

SpindleWhorl · 05/07/2021 16:34

@PandorasMailbox

Yeah. The context is skewed. It'll be interesting to see if the commentators underneath the article are more informed.
The comment, 'soon women will have no rights at all' has over 10,000 upvotes. The comments are majority pro-safeguarding for children in the UK.

I think the US reporters slanted this story, too.

Indeed. Never mentioning the fact that the female women and children are only crucial part. It's not the space it's the women and girls in it.

Weird isn't it. Single sex spaces for women and children are their spaces but all of a sudden if women and girls don't want to see fully intact males who say they are women in their spaces the onus is on the women and girls not to use them - so stay at home then? Access denied to the spaces that are theirs by right? Or the other one - don't look, no exhortation to the males who say they are women not to look though.

It's one step away from the argument used against rape victims, if you hadn't walked alone down that street/worn that dress/got drunk, etc., etc.

Misogyny and victim blaming in one and the people who use this argument are supposedly on the right side of history, proper feminists, the be kind ones, the progressive ones, the liberal all inclusive ones. It's the worst kind of pandering and submission to males and their desires and wants I've ever seen.

'It's one step away from the argument used against rape victims, if you hadn't walked alone down that street/worn that dress/got drunk, etc., etc.' RedDogsBeg

It worries me that the argument will surely emerge, if a woman or child gets attacked in a toilet/changing room, 'Well, you KNEW there would be penises in there, so you accepted the risk of rape when you went in to the women's toilet/changing room'.

I haven't seen this one yet, but I don't doubt that we will.

NiceGerbil · 05/07/2021 18:14

This incident I think will be eye opening for a lot of people.

The woman who reported is deemed to be a liar
If you don't want to see dicks in a female only area don't use female don't use female only areas
Thinking that having naked penis people in spaces for female people including naked girls is not good is a hangup that needs to be got over
Teach girls that if a man has his penis exposed in your vicinity that's not a problem and she should be polite and not worry
Teach girls that being naked around naked adults with penises is s normal part of life

And more I'm sure

NiceGerbil · 05/07/2021 18:17

Quaggers posts have also been very interesting.

I've worried about this too as it just seems so obvious that will happen. I don't understand how anyone could not see that.
SheldonesqueTheBstard · 05/07/2021 18:30

gerbil and android Sad

I hope that we are all proved wrong.

I’m not sure hope is going to be enough.

EsmaCannonball · 05/07/2021 18:40

It's not that long ago that people were incensed that the police didn't bother to investigate Sarah Everard's alleged murderer exposing himself in a fast food restaurant. If he'd chosen his venue more astutely, would people feel conflicted over whether he had committed a crime? Would the headlines be about a woman being arrested over the murder? Because it seems that being in a woman-only place is now enough evidence for a man to be called a woman.

NiceGerbil · 05/07/2021 18:51

The general public don't buy this for a second though.

Is the thing.

It's crazy, but this is genuinely the kind of thing some people are running with. People are brazenly saying things like "shouldn't have looked", and insisting 'penis-Havers' preference to strip overrides everyone else's comfort and safety

FWIW I personally wouldn't mind someone who looks visibly female using the changing room with me. However, I get that other people would not want that. Some people are genuinely so entitled they lose any semblance of reality and critical thinking to the point they'd rather allow actual flashers, than admit they're wrong.

OldTurtleNewShell · 05/07/2021 19:05

I see that the person who had their penis out has pinned a tweet of a photo of them with damaged knuckles after the protests. They claim to have been maced and sucker punched and "paid it back with interest".

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/07/2021 19:07

Because it seems that being in a woman-only place is now enough evidence for a man to be called a woman.

It's terrifying.

SnoopyLights · 05/07/2021 19:07

I saw this on an Instagram discussion about the Wi Spa incident, and it's true. Not so long ago, people were saying this wouldn't happen and children wouldn't have adults exposing their penis's to them.

Now the same people are saying "It's happening, get over it, kids shouldn't be so rude as to look."

We truly are just a step or two away from this:

It worries me that the argument will surely emerge, if a woman or child gets attacked in a toilet/changing room, 'Well, you KNEW there would be penises in there, so you accepted the risk of rape when you went in to the women's toilet/changing room'.

It reminds me of when a woman wearing a short skirt was thought to be "asking for it".
