I think this will cause all decent Trans people shame rather than pride.

I agree with SweetPectrichor that it is only a very small minority who are full of hatred.

No it isn't a very small minority, if it was they would be firmly put in their place by the overwhelming majority whether that be for the reams of hatred, abuse and threats on SM or signs at marches, but they never are. The gun waving Brunel student who threatened Marion Millar had TRA's falling over themselves to excuse him and support him. Don't insult my intelligence by telling me it's a very small minority who hold these views, it isn't and you would have to be living in the Dark Ages not to know that.

I don’t understand why this kind of protest is allowed, when it is targeting a legally protected group of people? If people went on demonstrations with placards saying the equivalent about people who are Black and of other ethnic minorities it would be clamped down on. How can the police permit this kind of hatred to be openly expressed?

toffeebutterpopcorn · 26/06/2021 20:43

Saw a police video ‘call 999 if you feel threatened’ to the good people of the March (not the other marches of course) next to a ‘traumatic’ video of a row of rather bored looking motorcycle police parked in a line next to the rally...

Ever the victims...

Erikrie · 26/06/2021 20:45

They never answer...

No. Although it's always worth asking. But of course they can't actually answer can they.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 26/06/2021 20:49

I’ve seen a photo on twitter (could’ve been doctored of course) of the ‘kill’ card sitting on the military memorial at the end of green park. This was the same memorial that was attacked with paint by a trans person a while back - I believe they walked Scot free).

Hate women, no respect for war dead, lovely.

I don't live in the dark ages or on Twitter, I live in the real world where most people are good and well meaning. I don't believe it helps the GC case to demonise an entire group due to the behaviour of a few.

Do you think it helps the trans activist case to issue death threats and rape threats to women? There's plenty of it. It's not a minority. Because I can assure you, it does not help their case at all. And those abusive people who post these threats on twitter and other social media also live in the real world.

As has already been said, we have been told that we need to open up our female spaces to 'anyone who identifies as a woman'. How are we supposed to know who 'the few' are?

Also, in addition to whoever created these placards, these photos have already been shared on social media by several different people, one of whom had over 5000 followers on Instagram and has now deleted their account. They clearly felt it was appropriate to share this to their thousands of followers, so is it really just 'a few'?

We are talking about clear death threats here. I don't really give a fuck if it's just 'a few' - I don't want these people anywhere near female spaces.

Erikrie · 26/06/2021 21:10

Wanna buy a bridge?

Maybe they already own one 👍

Sorry I don't understand that comment
Thingybob · 26/06/2021 21:20

For those of you knocking me I refer you back to my original comment and invite you to look at some more photos/videos from today's march. I'm not defending those placards but saying they weren't representative of the vast majority of those marching.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 26/06/2021 21:22

There will be some equally terrible people on the other side of the fence

like?

or is that complete bollocks?

HowdenMinster · 26/06/2021 21:22

Yeah, that's horrible. Death threats are never acceptable. It's a shame, because most of the photos I have seen from today have been a wonderful, joyous celebration of support for the transcommunity.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 26/06/2021 21:23

in the same week Transwidows voices received death threats on twitter for giving women a platform to talk about the abuse they've suffered

both sides?

aye, right

Yeah, I mean, those ribbons..... Absolutely terrifying....

Waitwhat23 · 26/06/2021 21:41

Every time I hear someone say 'it's a tiny minority', I think of the hundreds of examples on www.terfisaslur.com.

There has always been a small minority of people who vocally despise women, with a silent demographic who hold the same views but weren't vocal about it. The demonisation of women by gender ideology has given those people a chance to acceptably air those views, knowing that the targets of their ire can be silenced by the cry of 'transphobe'.

RedDogsBeg · 26/06/2021 21:44

It is blatantly obvious it is not a few. Women are hounded, harassed and abused all over social media by TRAs and their allies, ask Jess de Wahls I am sure she will be delighted to share with you the many, many death threats and abusive messages she has received from this somewhat large small minority that have been targeting her non-stop since 2019 and then ask her how many of this mythical majority of well meaning people in the real world on the TRA side have stood up for her, supported her and/or condemned those sending the abuse, I'll give you a clue the figure is somewhere between zero and nil.

Jess is only one of a whole list of women who are subjected to this bullying you seriously think the level of co-ordinated and concerted attacks are being done by a very small minority of people, dream on.

'IT'S A TINY MINORITY'...

BlackeyedSusan · 26/06/2021 22:01

Gosh that is an awfully big minority there...

ArcheryAnnie · 26/06/2021 23:23

@EmergencyHydrangea

There are always extreme dumbasses at every protest
But these aren't "extreme" for this crowd - that kind of rhetoric is mainstream for the gender identity believers (most of whom have not read what JKR wrote, but revel in being allowed to hate her as a woman anyway).
Nellodee · 26/06/2021 23:37

You know what would help? Supporters of trans people telling those within their ranks who threaten rape and violence, “You do not represent us, we do not condone your actions.”
That would go down a lot better than , “Only a few of us threaten to rape and kill you, so I don’t know why you keep going on about it, really.”
