So another brand proves that they’re not keen on women having thoughts

Innocent drinks

Why do these brands think this is a good choice? These things stick in your head, long after the tractivists have moved on.

I still don't buy Flora products.

No Innocent smoothies here either from now on then.

Are smug, opionionated, beardy wokebros really their core market? Hmm

WarOnWomen · 29/01/2021 15:56

@OvaHere

Why on earth don't they just ignore those tweets? There's no law that says they have to respond to every random that @'s them. Most of these brands certainly have no issue ignoring women after all.

That was my thought exactly. It's mind boggling.

Glenthebattleostrich · 29/01/2021 16:01

innocent products removed from my shopping list!

nauticant · 29/01/2021 16:02

I'd always taken Innocent Drinks to be an outfit selling much the same product as many others are selling but using a progressive vibe. I wouldn't have expected anything else from them.

GivesNoFox · 29/01/2021 16:04

There seems to be a sudden up crop of these TRA sock accounts popping up recently with only a handful of followers with the sole intention of complaining or attacking anyone who questions the ideology.

LakeGeneva · 29/01/2021 16:05

Morrisons smoothies as mentioned by a pp are genuinely nice.

SirSamuelVimes · 29/01/2021 16:07

Oh dear, innocent, that's another brand in the trash pile. Like a pp said, we remember this shit.

andyoldlabour · 29/01/2021 16:10

Maggie is brilliant, getting lots more followers.
Innocent? Not so sure Hmm

What did Flora do? I just bought a tub this week.
WarOnWomen · 29/01/2021 16:24

Just complained!

That ratio is something to behold.

lazylinguist · 29/01/2021 16:26

What idiots. I'd boycott them, only I buy Aldi smoothies anyway. And I wouldn't touch that Flora stuff with a bargepole.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2021 16:27

What did Flora do? I just bought a tub this week.

Bent the knee to misogynistic twitter demands iirc. And also, unrelated but of interest to some, their spreads are made with palm oil.

PotholeParadies · 29/01/2021 16:28

Why did they respond to a ten follower account (I've got more than that!) that explicitly equates following someone on twitter with endorsing everything they tweet?

sleepyhead · 29/01/2021 16:35

What did Flora do? I just bought a tub this week.

Pulled their advertising from Mumsnet at the behest of some TRA.

They may not even have pulled it in the end, they may even have only said they were thinking about it. Doesn't matter - it was clear what they thought of women who dare to speak up for their sex-based rights. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth and a lack of desire for their products.

The company who thinks women should just shut up, or a company that's not given their opinion one way or the other, which to choose? So hard (not really).

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 29/01/2021 16:36

Bloody hell, another one to the boycott pile. Are we counting down to the half arsed non apology?

PotholeParadies · 29/01/2021 16:45

I think I'd just started buying Flora margarine at the time because they'd gone dairy-free. I promptly went back to Vitalite and Pure.

MichelleofzeResistance · 29/01/2021 16:56

Andrew and Innocent not coming out well from that Twitter thread....

Very happy not to spend money with companies that hate women. No issues there at all, thanks for the info.

MichelleofzeResistance · 29/01/2021 16:58

I never understand the mindset of a business whose answer isn't "We're just selling margarine. That's it. That's all. Politics nothing to do with us and our selling of margarine. (And we employ x thousands.... we don't interview on political purity to any one position, because that would be weird.)"

Thanks for the heads up. Today alone Innocent, Flora and Journal.ie have been added to my boycott list.
Edenember · 29/01/2021 17:12

I’m loving this, its glorious to behold. A truly spectacular own goal. I wonder if Andrew is going to buy enough smoothies to make up for all the lost custom? He did say on his own feed he’d buy ‘A few more.’ That should do it 😂👌

OvaHere · 29/01/2021 17:13

Innocent drinks follow 31.2k people. I wonder how long 'leftie rage' had to search to find someone amongst their followers who had committed this particular sort of wrongthink?

Who takes notice of who smoothie companies are following?

AbsintheFriends · 29/01/2021 17:13

Method and Ocado are on my boycott list too, if we're doing a round up.

NeedToKnow101 · 29/01/2021 17:13

Maybe the TRA are trying to starve us out.

HettieMills · 29/01/2021 17:15

Right I will add innocent to the boycott list.

JKRismyhero · 29/01/2021 17:15

Off the shopping list they go. Wtf is wrong with the world
