Just watched it, it featured Benjamin Butterworth, George Galloway and Rose of Dawn. BB got his arse handed to him by Piers and Rose was brilliant! Well worth a watch! It was on at 8.15 so you can watch it in an hours time if you're at home. Also Twitter reactions were v positive, with pp wanting to buy the book as a result!

Do they have a mould somewhere that they cast these odd little woke-scolding men out of? See Ben, little O.J., Dr Haddock etc.

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/09/2020 09:44

Piers saying I'm not cis ! Grin

NotBadConsidering · 16/09/2020 09:46

I also don’t get how any of these people are elevated to opinion-worthy. As far as I can tell Butterworth is a mediocre journalist who writes middle of the road articles for a mediocre online news service, prominently advertises the fact he’s written for the Washington Post and Guardian, even though he’s only written three articles total for those publications (and the Guardian two were years ago) and likes to gloss over the fact he identified as black to get a position once. How does someone like that even get to a position of prominence that they’d invited to embarrass themselves on national television?

TorkTorkBam · 16/09/2020 09:49

Is the whole segment available? I can't find it.

ArabellaScott · 16/09/2020 10:12

I love Benjamin Butterworth, I think they should get him on all the time.

NotBadConsidering · 16/09/2020 10:19

🤣🤣

You can imagine it can’t you, Stonewall on the phone to him now “mate, please, do us a favour, just don’t say anything else. I’ll re-send you the Dentons report.”

Yes, he's like a court jester.
Shepherdspyreads · 16/09/2020 10:23

I'm sure you can get the full GMB show on itvhub - it's usually available later that day.

merrymouse · 16/09/2020 10:34

By staying close to their phone and being constantly available.

Siablue · 16/09/2020 10:35

I liked Rose she came across well. I have never seen her before but I will watch some of her videos.

I can’t believe that Ben identified as black. He should cancel himself!

TableFlowerss · 16/09/2020 10:35

I loved Piers Morgan this morning. Genius. He absolutely nailed it! Tick tick tick!!!

TableFlowerss · 16/09/2020 10:36

Rose came across really well too.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 16/09/2020 10:53

The phrase 'spittle-flecked invective' was invented for that Button man

MyDogSmells · 16/09/2020 11:01

I've seen a clip of RoseofDawn now, which was sensible. But I wish they hadn't labelled her as "trans activist" as it rather gives the impression that this is the "trans activist" position and therefore sensible and what are the feminists fussing about.

Not RoseofDawns fault presumably.

Vinosaurus · 16/09/2020 11:08

up now on ITV hub - 2:02:30

Datun · 16/09/2020 11:14

They get Butterworth on because no one else will do it. Particularly over this specific issue. It's so risible, no one would allow themselves to be questioned on it.

I wish Butterworth's assertion that Rowling writes transphobic comments had been challenged more, though.

Anyone could have asked him to cite examples, and it would have exposed the nonsense further.

As someone else said (whose brilliant quote I can't find unfortunately), they are complaining about one fictional line spoken about a fictitious character, by another fictitious character, in a fictitious story, written by a woman who writes fiction.

It's all grist to the mill tho. Enough people will be reading the book to know it's nonsense.

TheShoesa · 16/09/2020 11:14

I saw RoseofDawn pull a face at being labelled as a trans activist and I imagine she took a split second decision to go straight into making the points she wanted to make rather than cutting short the time available to refute that label. A straight to the point statement of her position might have been wise, though, to distance herself from the rabid TRA types.

sabinaapplecross · 16/09/2020 11:17

another clip

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 16/09/2020 11:18

Doesn’t Benny look just like the son of Haddock? There’s a shiny intensity to them both like they care from the same mould.

And they both got pwned.

zanahoria · 16/09/2020 11:22

Good to see him whipped but why even ask someone on to complain about a book they have not read?

zanahoria · 16/09/2020 11:28

I am convinced that Morgan asks for Butterworth as he knows he is easy meat

NotBadConsidering · 16/09/2020 11:29

Ahahahaa🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a great clip!!

And it’s true JEDWARD were calling for it to be burned!!

Too funny!

BaronessWrongCrowd · 16/09/2020 11:31

The full segment. It's very good. I laughed at Benjamin Button.

Looking forwards to watching this later.

Winesalot · 16/09/2020 11:32

This interview must go into the classic's vault with KJK and Haddock. What was a shame was that RoseofDawn was given so little time! Rose is very articulate and frankly, more of that is needed in these discussions. I enjoy listening to Rose's videos, even if I don't agree wholly with some, the videos are usually informative. Much more calm and logical on subjects than the IW. So, I hope Piers will have more Rose less IW in the future.

But then I think Piers is keen to pique the interest of the world on this subject and the best way to do it is to rip apart the inane rhetoric pushed by these groups. And well done Pier's on not accepting the label 'c*s'!

I do understand that there would be few women who would want to appear, I wonder if any were actually approached.
