Just wondering if anyone's seen this on Twitter. Quite a funny, interesting thread, eg

#AskDanielRadcliffe When was the last time you showed solidarity with trans activists by dating a trans woman, and what steps are you taking to unlearn your genital preferences?

Is the first one that showed up when I clicked. Sorry if it's old news.

Nobody could really miss the point that much could they?

Once again - DrDavid was making the point that Radcliffe was NOT being told to "choke on a dick" - that abuse was sent to JK Rowling by men and TRAS.

Feminists, who started using that hashtag at the weekend are NOT saying that to Radcliffe.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 21:30

I couldn't care less whether any individual woman agrees.

Plenty of people who are considered "international human rights fighters" don't seem to want to stand up for women and girls as a political class.

Which woman pissed you off today?

TyroSaysMeow · 15/06/2020 21:35

I don't particularly care who DR sleeps with (so long as it's not me).

But I'd love for someone to present him with a photo of a feminine-presenting transman (so, a female whose incongruous gender identity isn't remotely apparent) and ask him if, as a heterosexual man, he'd be theoretically open to dating them.

Would he be open to it, on the grounds of female biology? Or would he turn out to be able to see gendered souls, and instinctively know this female-bodied female-presenting person is actually a man?

I'm very surprised that I've not heard any mention of JKR on Woman's Hour. I could've missed it. Anyone else hear anything? They are going to do a bit tomorrow about the GRA so it might come up then possibly..

JemimaShore · 15/06/2020 21:36

I don't know who to break it to you Smile - but I" don't know, has anyone told him to suck a dick until he chokes to death or speculated as to the health of his genitals yet?" Is a question, not an instruction to Radcliffe himself - and is referring directly to the sort of abusive language directed to JK Rowling.

If you don't understand this by now, I don't think anyone can help you.

I didn't say she wasn't a feminist. I just don't agree on this, nor do I think she has the last word on it.

BaronessBrighterThanYou · 15/06/2020 21:38

Mr angry ain't interested.

JemimaShore · 15/06/2020 21:38

She is a childrens book writer. Nothing much more

Oh dear Grin

FantaOra · 15/06/2020 21:39

So we've had
Far right
Wrong time for a woman to speak
Educate yourself
Hate crime and
TRY Harder... I think that was the funniest.

What an absolute patronising load of libfem cliches.

Wrong board smile.

Having spent time on twitter, I’m afraid I now know more about this celebrity than I expected to ever needed to know. He is in a relationship, he does have a girlfriend, so it would be bad form to offer him dates with other hypothetical persons. But he also isn’t on Twitter, so the hashtag is reaching his fans (employers?) rather than him.

BaronessBrighterThanYou · 15/06/2020 21:43

It'll be everything that harms you is a choice next.

Are we doing a bingo card?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 21:44

Oh ffs someone losing their job compared to the rest if the shit going down and you use the 'woman using her voice ' statement

That's not what I was saying. I was saying, (and thought I made it clear, but never mind) that after that tweet and especially in the week leading up to her most recent Twitterstorm, JK Rowling had faced a relentless barrage of misogynistic abuse. So yes, she is perfectly entitled to use her voice to speak out.

Thanks for the heads up on woman's hour, if it's GRA they are bound to mention JKR. I dread to think which pro abolition of single sex exemptions will be on, not sure I can listen to anymore JFae

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 21:47

Of course it's bound to be Fae.

They are still coming ....

BaronessBrighterThanYou · 15/06/2020 21:49

Pretty sure living on twitter and reporting on MN is a choice.

No. It's mandatory.

BaronessBrighterThanYou · 15/06/2020 21:51

That you can choice not to hurt you. Yes

I can't argue with that.
