Just wondering if anyone's seen this on Twitter. Quite a funny, interesting thread, eg

#AskDanielRadcliffe When was the last time you showed solidarity with trans activists by dating a trans woman, and what steps are you taking to unlearn your genital preferences?

Is the first one that showed up when I clicked. Sorry if it's old news.

That is what the writer is saying? It reads sopoorly written, waffling and handmaiden particularly with the grovelling 'i'm cis so shouldn't really have an opinion on this'....

Ugh. Then don't.

Wonder why?!... Will all the posts quoting smile have to go too?
Still there atm

Oh I've seen several twitter-twats saying similar stuff - 'let's re-claim HP as our own, it's not hers anymore" and even one saying "can we re-write HP please" - crazy stuff.

I would love to see them come up against international IP law 🍿

Marie Claire reportage used to be amazing when I was a teenager, about topics like femicide and women in prison. Now it's this self indulgent puerile drivel. WTF happened to them?

JemimaShore · 16/06/2020 21:42

Right Eresh. One cannot just "take" Harry Potter from JK Rowling, dontcha know! It's hers.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/06/2020 21:59

I suspect even if she didn't pursue it, commercial stakeholders would.

This awful piece was in American Marie Claire though, wasn’t it? A distinct publication from the UK edition, I guess.

Yes, but I think the whole brand has lost its way. Sad to see.

Marie Claire used to have some fantastic feminist articles, I learning about child brides in the US, FGM and womens prisons, it really opened my eyes to the reality of lives of other women and girls.

How can it have moved so far away from what it was about. It does a great diservice to its young female readership.

I'd like to ask the little traitors from Harry Potter what they think of Fallon Fox. A man that beats the shit out of women for sport. And rebels in smashing their skulls.

So was smile merely posting to get screenshots in order to, well I don't quite know what? Put refutations to their arguments in a bin, with wing of bat and eye of newt and set fire to it?

TyroSaysMeow · 17/06/2020 16:17

I'm not on twitter, but I've got a question for Daniel Radcliffe.

If twaw then logically tmam.

So if, hypothetically, we were to perfect the creation of embryos from two eggs (no sperm involved), and use sex-selective abortions to ensure henceforth only vagina-type babies are born, and then let those babies determine their own position on the super-complicated sex spectrum by a declaration of identity -

Would Daniel Radcliffe be okay with this? After all, there would still be men and women, they'd just all be what we used to call female back in the ignorant dark ages of binary sex. So that would be fine, right Daniel?

I mean, if it's fine for company boards and parliament to be comprised of male men and male women, then surely it works the other way too, right?

Not to mention that there are those among whom they support, some of which are well known in these boards, who would be needing a new pack of man-sized tissues when thinking about that.
