So much hand wringing and throwing under buses. She loves the books and the message of love, acceptance and self esteem and understanding, but the creator of this world has been denounced a witch so therefore none of it was real and we must all turn our backs from it.

Me, DH, the DC have always enjoyed HP, read the books, watched the films many times -I admire her very much - but I didn't realise the obsessional HP fan-base that existed online. I'm not sure some of them can even distinguish fantasy from reality.

I've noticed that too, its very disturbing. I imagine some are quite young so I'll give them a little leeway but some a grown adults who don't seem capable to fully mature. Maybe thats the root to cancel culture. I don't mean the really nasty ones like R Kelly who do real lasting harm but those who just have views they don't agree with, people can't see the artist as fully human.

I'm quite certain that J. K. Rowling knew all about them, though.

Frankly, it's must be a massive responsibility, if not a burden, to know that people are almost living their life through your fictional invention.

You would need your feet firmly on the ground, to not start believing your own PR, as the saying goes.

Which, in my opinion, makes her all the more brave. She must have known exactly whose balloons she was about to burst, but the legal future of women and girls was too important.

Dear me, this groveling self abasement of women like this writer does not bode well for their future does it. The world is a harsh place and if the violent abusive men involved in this cultural war can bow you down this much you are the vulnerable one. I do hope they wake up.

How after these decades of modern feminism and social change have we ended up with this generation of women with absolutely zero self worth? And zero solidarity with other women/girls? Fuck it. All they do is lie to themselves.
