Men pushing in in queues and not social distancing.

I know in the scheme of things this is only small but its the bloody entitlement that gets to me.

When the new Coronavirus Bill came in last Thursday two men used the 2 m gap to try to push in front while i was queuing outside Tesco.

Re, social distancing , i try i really try to stay 2m from people at all times on the rare occasions but the amount of men who walk right next to me or towards me KNOWING that i will move.

This afternoon was the final straw Queuing outside Sainsburys observing the 2 m rule i had to wait until the queue moved to where the trolleys were . There was no way i could get to them BEFORE queuing and observe the 2m rule so i had to wait in the queue before i got to them. I leant across to put my pound in the slot and the FOUR men queuing behind me jumped the queue by moving along in front.

Im so fed up with the entitlement Every time its been a man EVERY TIME. Ive not seen this from women at all .

If you're adding to the crowds you are part of the problem.

Change the route, go at a different time. Don't just plough on and compound the problem.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 18:07

Can we please not get off the topic

Helena rightly or wrongly wanted to discuss men as a class

She didnt want to discuss covid 19 rules...there is a whole bloody board for that

No one has to defend what they are doing regarding leaving the house or exercising on this board

Pretty please with sugar on top

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/04/2020 18:07

Everyone please present your exercise plan to Hooves for approval before stepping outside again!

Peckity peck peck.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 04/04/2020 18:07

BeetrootRocks

The posters saying a group of two women on bikes plus children, plus the poster, plus another group of cyclists plus three men on bikes.

Then another poster moaning about a runner, plus the poster, plus a man and a woman walking

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 18:08

And i know I’m one of the worst for going off topic..im not unaware of the irony

Ikeasucks · 04/04/2020 18:08

God, i had one at Waitrose the other day. I joined the end of the queue, everyone (not many) waiting patiently and spread out. I was the shorter section of the L and some guy just walks up and stands randomly behind the guy in front of me. Didn’t want to snark so said nothing and politely mentioned the queue was behind me as he was blocking my way when i moved forward- he got really snarkey and bit at me. I’ve handled much more brazen queue jumpers than you mate.

Helena rightly or wrongly wanted to discuss men as a class

Based on the examples of two men? How is that a basis for a discussion of men as a class?

If I give examples of the behaviour of two women can we discuss women as a class then?

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 18:10

Lol

You have no idea where I live or how many people were there Grin

Ikeasucks · 04/04/2020 18:11

“Who is exercising in busy areas?!“

There was a group of 5 young men having a lovely group work out at my local country park. What was weird is they picked the mist busy snd visible area to do it when there are acres and acres of parkland no one uses

DJLippy · 04/04/2020 18:11

I was in Morrisons today and it was packed. We were all trying to obey social distancing it wasn't easy but guess which sex wasnt obeying the rules? At one point had to tell a dude to back off and he just laughed at me. Prick. I thought men has great spatial awareness it's almost like men have no regard for womens boundaries or safety!

Has anyone heard that Peru have instigated seperate days out for men and women? Sounds like heaven.

The first time I became aware of the way men disregard womens personal boundaries was when i went to a women only swim session. Everyone giving each other enough space and pacing themselves properly.

Its week 2 I swear its gonna get more and more tense as time goes by. The guy I reprimanded got so mad I think women holding their own or challenging men will face grief. Bring it on

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 18:15

Hearhooves if you are walking for an hour, encountering 6,8 or even 10 other sets of walkers is hardly 'picadilly circus'

Grin

This is a derail.

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 04/04/2020 18:15

Hooves Meeting a couple of runners isnt exactly busy though is it? Would be plenty of space if they didnt run in the middle of the bloody path. No one has said 'ive barged my way through 500 people' its mostly been anecdotes of supermarkets.

The whole point of this thread is there would plenty of space if the men (and some women) could try to contribute to the 2m rather than walking into you.

You cant drive anywhere to walk, so cant go somewhere completely secluded.

Im still working (NHS) so im going out daily plus have been out twice this week - once to sainsburies, once to butchers/bakers. Thats plenty of exposure to people that is absolutrly necessary

Datun · 04/04/2020 18:18

Not sure who you're talking to hooves? I was speculating

DJLippy · 04/04/2020 18:19

Can we stop having a go at Hooves and have a go at men instead.

HeIenaDove · 04/04/2020 18:27

No based on the examples of SIX men in two incidents as i have posted

Nice try though.

Yes i heard that!

We went to jordan once and the only day we stayed at one hotel it was men only in the swimming pool. Dh had to take two random boys in with him Grin

DJLippy · 04/04/2020 18:33

I want them to introduce the policy in the UK. I have many pairs of trousers and I know all the lingo. Cant wait to test a copper when u explain to him all about my gender identity and why I'm allowed out

Me too. I wouldn't mind giving that a go.

I feel very very sorry for the copper Grin

HeIenaDove · 04/04/2020 18:36

@Pentium85 Does my DH not like men then. After all he mentioned part of the reason he gave up his licence was because of having to second guess other blokes on the road.

Some discussions though are dominated by people who basically seem to want to make anecdotal claims about males with no disagreement, occasionally they can be weird like men sneeze in a way that is wrong/too loud, whatever.

I can't stop chuckling at the idea of a particular way of sneezing being 'wrong' Grin.
