Men pushing in in queues and not social distancing.

I know in the scheme of things this is only small but its the bloody entitlement that gets to me.

When the new Coronavirus Bill came in last Thursday two men used the 2 m gap to try to push in front while i was queuing outside Tesco.

Re, social distancing , i try i really try to stay 2m from people at all times on the rare occasions but the amount of men who walk right next to me or towards me KNOWING that i will move.

This afternoon was the final straw Queuing outside Sainsburys observing the 2 m rule i had to wait until the queue moved to where the trolleys were . There was no way i could get to them BEFORE queuing and observe the 2m rule so i had to wait in the queue before i got to them. I leant across to put my pound in the slot and the FOUR men queuing behind me jumped the queue by moving along in front.

Im so fed up with the entitlement Every time its been a man EVERY TIME. Ive not seen this from women at all .

Oh have we got to the bit where everyone has to comment on every single comment on the thread?

That's not how it works. I can't be arsed to engage with your bickering.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/04/2020 11:40

But then they'll be sad, Beetroot, and it will be your fault that they no longer support feminism.

(Even in the middle of a pandemic, human nature doesn't change.)

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:43

Thank you @SwerfandTurf for explaining it to me. It wasn't me who said NAMALT, I was just trying to understand why it's acceptable to call people fucking stupid if they have a different point of view. Genuinely I want to understand, and when various posters think it's acceptable to be condescending it very much makes me wonder why I bother, and why those posters seem to think they're better than men when they appear to be doing what men have a habit of doing.

SwerfandTurf · 04/04/2020 11:43

Did anyone start a bingo card yet? I've got "you've put me off feminism but not being nice enough, you have"

Well said. Someone in an animal rights group on FB said something nasty to me recently, I’m not going to start kicking puppies and squirting shampoo at bunnies as a result.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:44

Is it wrong to be sad? Are women not allowed to feel sad?

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:45

Why? Why is it necessary to gang up on me when I just want to understand?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/04/2020 11:48

I must admit that if there was a way to do the "stop trying to eat the electrical cord/the blinds!" squirt bottle trick on people on the internet I'd occasionally be tempted.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:48

You're demanding that all posters in the thread individually denounce another one. I'm not really interested in that part of the convo. I'm more interested in what others are saying.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:49

What? Where have I done that? I asked one poster to explain their comment. I've not asked anyone else to do anything.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 11:50

because you've just lost someone who was trying to learn and understand the cause

Really, it just took one poster?

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:50

Ok I just had a look at your posts so I could see what this is about.

You seem to have only commented on that one post. Do you have any views on the topic of the thread?

Personally I don't tend to say people are fucking stupid unless they've really pissed me off. Does that help.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:51

And I tend to say an action is fucking stupid rather than the person.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:51

Or an opinion.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:52

I posted my thoughts at 10.50.

Which of my actions has been fucking stupid?

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:52

Which of my opinions?

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 11:53

Couldnt figure out what the titanic had to do with anything

Ive got it now 🚢

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/04/2020 11:53

If we could at some point get back to the topic of the thread that would be grand.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/04/2020 11:54

Not you, Rufus, your random interjections are one of the best parts of FWR.

SarahTancredi · 04/04/2020 11:55

It's ironic how any talk of things men do, one example of one man brings about cries of NAMALT and accusations of man hating.

Yet one feminist can apparently turn someone off all feminism altogether?

So you are saying All feminists are like that..

Erm..

Personally I think if a person wants to learn they will. Most if the time they have no intention they just want an.excuse to run back to fa e book or reddit or wherever and condemn all feminists

Well they never seem to have a problem using it taking what they would never have had if these pesky feminist women hadn't kicked up a fuss decades ago.

Gets old. Seen it all before.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:55

WTF

I haven't called anyone fucking stupid on this thread.

An example might be, I think people who believe everything trump says is fact, are.. well fucking stupid isn't a phrase I use much at all tbh. Doesn't feel natural to type it.

I don't think you understand what I said. At no point have I said that to anyone on the thread.

You asked for comments about that, I've commented, now you have decided I've said something I haven't???

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:56

You haven't expressed any opinions about the actual topic so I can't say what I thing of them, for a start.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 11:56

I'll say it again, in my experience this isn't a sex issue, it's an issue that some people are just selfish, ignorant and oblivious to others. Last time I went to the supermarket everyone seemed to be trying their best to get their shopping and leave. I was lucky enough to go one evening when it was very quite and I didn't experience any pushing in or entitled attitude from anyone.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:57

In my experience it has been mainly men and once I pointed it out to DH he started noticing as well.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:58

Once again, it wasn't me who brought up NAMALT, I was just trying to understand a posters reaction to it.
