Sorry for my fairly lame question to Emily for the webchat tomorrow. Hope you managed to get in better questions?

Woah, is she actually answering with real answers?

[cautiously looks out from under Blanket of Despair]

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 05/02/2020 12:59

I am actually now nervous for every reply from her that she doesn't fuck this up...

Alltheprettyseahorses · 05/02/2020 13:02

If MPs are frightened by civil questions about the preservation of women's legal rights as enshrined by law (don't forget, women have already been sexually abused directly due to state organisations such as the prison system seemingly anticipating possible changes in the distant future) then they should not be MPs. They represent are accountable to and claim wages from all of us, not just the less than half with willies. Women matter and there is nothing more important than women's rights. Enough with 'after the revolution, love'.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/02/2020 13:03

I've asked some qu's, but probably too late to get answers. It's a bloody shame that so far she's given what seem to be the most clear and thought-about answers, but everybody's so jaded after Starmer and Phillips that she's not got much traffic.

Come on, Emily. Still skirting round the self ID issue. Unless you answer that, all other answers on 'womens rights' are meaningless.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 05/02/2020 13:07

Oh God, I like her... I do. Every post she makes about women, I like her more.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/02/2020 13:08

Yeah, me too, Sonic.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 13:12

I'm not a Labour Party member so have no 'skin in the game' when it comes to the leadership, but I know my party member friends are desperate to have a candidate to vote for who understands what a woman is and is prepared to say so.

Emily seems to get it, but will she say it?

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 13:13

Good comment there from derxa
"I like you Emily. Of all the candidates you are the most formidable at the despatch box and on GMB grin. But what do I know, I'm a right leaning floating voter. I'm one of the people you need to attract and identity politics turns me right off."

Mner2000 · 05/02/2020 13:18

ChattyLion that is spot on.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 13:21

Ooh, very poor answer on the freedom of speech/no platforming question Angry

BovaryX · 05/02/2020 13:22

Yes. Very poor. And now she's been called out for blaming the leader for her own actions or lack of them

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/02/2020 13:22

Yes, dreadful answer.

Winecheesesleep · 05/02/2020 13:24

Yes disappointing answer on freedom of speech when I think she's been really strong and detailed on other answers.

BovaryX · 05/02/2020 13:24

You have given two examples where you have been cowed into submission by male leaders of the Labour Party one of which was a matter on which you felt very strongly, yet you gave way, and you were also unable to persuade the current male leadership of the Labour Party of the lack of wisdom regarding the recent general election and stance on the EU - and yet you state you will take on male leaders of the world and be strong, unwavering and forthright, how can we believe this when you cave to the demands of male leaders of your own party so cravenly?

Wonder if this excellent point will remain?

BovaryX · 05/02/2020 13:25

Her answer to the freedom of speech question is dire

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/02/2020 13:25

Well done, ScreamingBeans. I'm pretty pissed off that after all those long, interesting answers she shuts down the free speech one with a one liner. I've screenshotted your qu, as I expect it'll be deleted.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 13:26

I screenshotted it Bovary just in case!
Astonished it is still there, but it is indeed an excellent point.

Screaming beans has called her out on not answering the freedom of speech/no platforming question!

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 05/02/2020 13:28

Meh, the wheels are coming off. Damn.

The wheels are stunning, and brave, and we were all wrong about feminism. These days we can all be different and nice to each other and things will be lovely.

MrsSnippyPants · 05/02/2020 13:29

Aaaaaaand she falls at the final fence.

Great question midclegs and she completely failed to answer it Sad

BovaryX · 05/02/2020 13:31

Could you expand on this answer as it doesn’t seem to answer the question? Thanks

She has been called out again on her non answer!

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 05/02/2020 13:31
