Sorry for my fairly lame question to Emily for the webchat tomorrow. Hope you managed to get in better questions?

Can you imagine if say a forum for people from the BAME community were told that questions for a web chat with a politician should not have everyone asking about institutional racism?

Yes. Describing any concerns re a structural power imbalance as "single issue" when they permeate almost all areas of life is ignorant at the best.

Gosh that thread is eye opening. People seem to agree with the Mumsnet posters! Whodathunkit?
Lots of people on Twitter have tagged ET, wonder if she will reflect on her performance?

Brilliant thread from the resistors - sums it up perfectly

Given this utter shower: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3820161-Angela-Rayner-says-you-can-only-be-a-Labour-member-if-you-believe-TWAW?pg=1&order=

All the labour leader candidates being asked to pledge to fuck women over, including kicking them out of their political party and many of these candidates signing up to this, would MNHQ now see their policy of limiting gender- related questions for potential leaders and other elected politicians as having at least been taken over by events? This is an election issue that politicians should not be able to continue to dodge any more if they want to ask for women’s votes.

ScapaFlo · 12/02/2020 12:24

Good point ChattyLion

LangClegsOpinionIsNoted · 12/02/2020 12:40

I think if anything it'll go the other way. They'll refuse to come on, or MNHQ will make a deal to only allow on or two gender critical questions which they will ignore. The whole point of that pledge is to take the trans discussion off the table in the labour party.
