Well done to JK Rowling. The tantrums on that twitter thread are epic. Some very disturbed and upset 'folx' who are now convinced that JK is basically a Nazi because she simply accepts that male and female sexes are a biological reality rather than a social construct that is 'performed' a la Judith Butler's theories.

What a world we live in. I never thought I'd see the day that someone's entire literary oeuvre would be seen to be devalued and worthless simply because they believe in biological sex. She's not saying everyone has to adhere to their biological sex or that trans people don't exist or that clothing is gendered or anything - only that biological sex is a reality. And they're calling her a Nazi. Nothing but total capitulation will do for these idiots.

Justin Webb is well on top of things - especially for BBC reporter. He took Jo Swinson apart on self ID too, before the election - although not nearly as thoroughly as Emma Barton of course.

The thing I like and admire most about the Potter books is that they are age appropriate without talking down to the reader.
