I already own everything JK's ever written - I love her so much, and I love her even more now. I think she is such a fantastic role model for women and girls.

JKRs stance shouldn't surprise anyone - Hogwarts dormitories had stairs that turned into slides if males tried to enter the female bedrooms.
Also when a male entered a female toilet a female died as a result!

Oh I just asked DH (who is GC but a bit fed up of hearing about it) if he had seen JK’s tweet - he said he watched it happen so I asked if he had actually seen Maya’s judgement. He’s read it ShockGrin

I was going to do useful, boring, grown up shit tonight but I'm so happy about this I'm going to drink red wine, eat malteasers and watch a Harry Potter dvd instead.

JK has been supportive of Jess Phillips. I wonder if the way the TRAs went for Jess (who actually did her best not to appear gc at all) and then the Maya ruling, made JK think 'fuck it, they can't be appeased and they're ruining women's careers'.

I'm starting to think it's no coincidence that 'courage calls' was the suffragette's slogan because the men with similar high profiles to JK are still staying silent on this.

(I don't blame Amanda Abbington for deleting at all. She seems to have had a tough time recently Flowers )

Someone posted this about Maya’s funding on elleandback. How absolutely bloody wonderful. It shows the strength of feeling against that judgment.

Well she had another crowd funding for an appeal, it seems her target was 80k, she shared the link for the crowd funding yesterday morning and at night it had reached 82k so there's some hope! I think

I've been lurking on MN for bloody years but a combination of the result of this court case, this tweet from JK Rowling and this thread have finally made me sign up.

I don't have anything to add except I think this quote from Tim Minchin is apt:
"Burning a book is like burning a bra. After the adrenalin rush of the symbolic moment wears off, all you're left with is a pile of ashes and unsupported boobs."
