Yes I get that.
Most lesbians don’t report having experiences of being told to accept penises. You can see that by reaction on twitter and at prides. A tiny number of males have said such things online.

It’s possible to disagree with them and make the point without trashing all TW.

MinnieTheSphinx · 06/08/2019 09:12

Julia long - That's one person. Not 100

Julia Long, Venice Allan (has she accused anyone else of lying about their cancer yet?), Anne Ruzylo etc etc etc... and then add in alleged allies like Posie. Yep charmers and shy retiring types all.

2BthatUnnoticed · 06/08/2019 09:13

So if those lesbians are such a insignificant, minuscule no, why not leave them to it then?

Why does only “the majority” (as you perceive it) matter... should not individuals be free to peacefully express themselves without being surrounded and yelled at? Confused

LangCleg · 06/08/2019 09:15

This Pride had a MAP float. This Pride celebrated age play fetish. This Pride had men shouting I'd rather be a pervert than a TERF at women.

Acceptance without exception, eh?

Nothing to see here. Silly lesbians protesting.

Earlywalker · 06/08/2019 09:15

Yes they could’ve made a different choice.

I would never suggest anyone stays silent at something they disagree with, ever.

Most of the chanting said ‘when trans rights are under attack, what do we do? Fight back!’

I could imagine lesbians using a similar chant.

FWR has made such a point over the years of free speech being so important. Yet when people dare to use it against you, they should’ve just shut up and walked away?

Insanity.

And I’ve watched the video, it’s been cut down massively so I’ve only seen what ReSisters want us to see, none the less it doesn’t look like mass intimidation on quiet scared individuals to me and when she felt uncomfortable, the police stepped in.

This new brand of feminism is so degrading. What happened to being proud of strong woman rather than painting them as victims?

Wishihad · 06/08/2019 09:17

I could imagine lesbians using a similar chant.

I can imagine all sorts. Doesnt make it factual though.

Ah so before you wanted every to watch the video because it showed the transphobic sentiment.

Now the video is edited and doesnt give a real representation.

Has that got anything to do with the fact that you cant continue the 'it was 6 of one half a dozen of the other' line anymore?

grenkyll · 06/08/2019 09:20

@Earlywalker completely agree with you.

And yes of course people can put what they want on their banners, but to express shock that others at Pride should not express their opposition is stupid. The banners themselves express opposition. You can't have it both ways.

Apols for the endless agreement!

MinnieTheSphinx · 06/08/2019 09:24

It's because so-called GC campaigners did the same as so many campaigners do these days (see Trump, Brexit etc etc), they found the tiny worst element of a group of people and used it for their negative propaganda purposes. You can do that with any group of people. Of course the fact that lesbians are now undermining that campaign by showing their contempt for it is proving awkward.

It's typical PR tactics that transphobes use over and over again. Even the most abusive bigot suddenly becomes a poor little bullied me when it suits her.

2BthatUnnoticed · 06/08/2019 09:27

They were shouting No trfs at Pride.”

The equivalent would have been No TRAs at Pride. Which was not said - nothing like it.

The 8 lesbians were not even on the Pride march as it was deemed unsafe, they stood by the side of the road. Even there, having stayed out of the Pride, they were not truly safe - the yelling, crowding, use of a slur - designed to intimidate.

Sickening. Solidarity to those women. You clearly have more power than you know, that people are so desperate to discredit you.

Wishihad · 06/08/2019 09:27

So far we have had,

The group of women was small and insignificant. The fact that there was more people opposing them, shows they dont represent the majority.

But also the fact that MAP and fetishes are becoming a big part of pride, went unnoticed by the majority because these women, stood in one spot caused that much of a distraction to everyone else they didnt realise the perverts were there. It's actually the group of womens fault for not noticing the perverts.

We have had 'well watch the video you will see it was anti trans' , followed by the video is edited to make the women look better.

We have had 'they only responded the protest in a similar way to the protestors', followed by 'if 100 women were intimidating trans allies it would be'. So TRAs accept that the group of women were intimidated?

The women were wrong for protesting at pride. But trans allies carry signs about trans rights and L with the T, signs are ok. Lesbians shouldnt protest at pride, but trans allies can.

There is so much back in further from TRAs it's not surprising they cant keep up with themseleves

JackyHolyoake · 06/08/2019 09:28

FWR has made such a point over the years of free speech being so important. Yet when people dare to use it against you, they should’ve just shut up and walked away?

Freedom of speech does not include a freedom to stage an aggressive confrontation to intimidate others.

Wishihad · 06/08/2019 09:36

Who tried to block free speech.

The protestors or the ones trying to phyiscally intimidate protestors, call them a hate group to the police, shout insults at the protestors?

Earlywalker · 06/08/2019 09:36

So you don’t think lesbians would fight for their rights? What are they doing then?

The video still shows quite clearly the basics of what happened but you’re naive if you think it’s not been edited to show what they want you to see.

Anyway, it’s clear now FWR is overrun with hypocrites.

Posie storms someone’s office to misgender and shout at them? Free speech
Pictures of trans woman held up to be laughed at about how they don’t pass? free speech
People have an issue with woman hating conservative Cristian’s becoming the GC face? Free speech
Woman hold up signs and megaphones to protest against trans ideology infront of thousands of trans people? free speech

Trans people and allies protest back? omg they are such woman haters, They should’ve ignored them and walked away. This is an attack on lesbians! Lesbians aren’t welcome at pride

Freedom of speech does not include a freedom to stage an aggressive confrontation to intimidate others

People watching could have easily found the woman intimidating? Coming with a megaphone and banners shouting at transpeople. And many people will see it as the woman who staged the attack. They are the ones there who began not by embracing who they are but by criticising others.

LangCleg · 06/08/2019 09:39

And many people will see it as the woman who staged the attack.

Keep going Early, keep going.
