Thoughtful insights into how some women get drawn into the wrong side of the debate.

Either women have control of their own minds and bodies or they don't, you can't have it both ways for when it fits your viewpoint

Eh. What women? Jessica Yaniv? Karen White?

For the purpose of the define feminism question, your type of woman.
Biological ones. Either biological women have control of their own minds and bodies or they don't.
Why does that get a rolling around laughing emoticon?
It's a serious point.

Michelleoftheresistance · 31/07/2019 22:00

It's not us "banging on", it was one question, I don't even care if it's answered or not, but I got define feminism over and over and over in order to avoid answering. I mean, just in the time of posting this it's got another "define woman" in there.

Defining feminism and what a woman is is essential to the whole discussion we're trying to have here around what women's rights are and how they're damaged by changing the definition to include men. If you can't share a definition of that then the conversation has nowhere to go, it's walking round and round the elephant central to the issue, without ever engaging with it.

Whether saying cowbag bitches is really naughty and unsisterly and unfeminist and means women shouldn't have the right to talk any more is really not that crucial to this thread. And you know and I know and we all know has been misinterpreted from the original post anyway. As has been explained multiple times. So yes, banging on, appropriate there.

littlbrowndog · 31/07/2019 22:02

So rose what do you actually believe in.

You post and post yet say very little of any consequence where someone reading would stop and think yes maybe rose has a point there ?

Datun · 31/07/2019 22:03

Biological ones. Either biological women have control of their own minds and bodies or they don't.

That's not feminism.

Feminism is liberation from the patriarchy. Ie men.

You can't liberate yourself from men, if you're on board with men who are deciding to access your spaces, scholarships, sports, rape refugees, prisons and definition, on the basis of how they feel.

RosesAndRaindrops · 31/07/2019 22:03

Nobody said it was naughty or unsisterly, just how is it not misogynistic to say that about other women?
Is it not anymore? It's fine to say?

Doyoumind · 31/07/2019 22:03

I don't get your point Roses. Of course women have control of their minds but minds and views are defined by experience and what we are exposed to. I firmly believe those women believe what they believe in. That doesn't mean I can't disagree with those beliefs.

Exactly. I don't think they can see the irony. When they do it it's a legitimate question. When anyone else does it it's DARVO, straw man, de railing...

It's also the irony of slating women who.like make up, dressing nicely, shaving their legs as was happening on a thread a while back yet on this thread Posie is being held up as an icon (who absolutely fits the very picture that was being so derided on the thread about the silly women who wear make up and dresses).

NeurotrashWarrior · 31/07/2019 22:04

Either biological women have control of their own minds and bodies or they don't.

That's a good point and that's fine. I actually think that with freedom of speech they can say what they want. But don't expect everyone else to agree, believe it or change laws based on fantasy.

If a biological woman wants to think like that (obviously she's read things and met certain people who have moulded her view).

Don't expect the ideology (fantasy) to be law.

Michelleoftheresistance · 31/07/2019 22:05

And trying to make sense of the last page since this thread is fast moving, the point seems to be that gender critical women have a duty to be loving, accepting, non judgemental and unquestioningly and unconditionally supportive of all women, including those who are intentionally working on behalf of males to destroy their rights and further the oppression and exclusion of women. Cos otherwise they're uncaring and not properly feminist. Or something.

Am I getting close?

littlbrowndog · 31/07/2019 22:06

So rose has really nothing to say apart from a circular going round and round as ever

StopThePlanet · 31/07/2019 22:06

Gin Cheers

Where's the tequila bottle? ☹️ Nobody drink tequila in these parts?

RosesAndRaindrops · 31/07/2019 22:06

Biological ones. Either biological women have control of their own minds and bodies or they don't

That's not feminism

So you don't think that women can think for themselves?
Well, OK if so that's good to know at least.

Doyoumind · 31/07/2019 22:06

Agree Michelle. If the most important thing to debate is whether it's ok to call a woman a bitch and not how we define feminism and woman, it's a sorry state of affairs.

NeurotrashWarrior · 31/07/2019 22:06

And 42.

And ads.

DecomposingComposers · 31/07/2019 22:08

Has it? How was it meant to be interpreted then?

RosesAndRaindrops · 31/07/2019 22:08

Has it? How was it meant to be interpreted then?

I think it must be a switch and twist tactic again lol

Doyoumind · 31/07/2019 22:09

Yawn, honestly.

NeurotrashWarrior · 31/07/2019 22:09

Biological women can also think the earth is flat for all I care.

It doesn't mean I have to believe it nor governments change all the rules of international space travel just to appease the science fiction.

littlbrowndog · 31/07/2019 22:09

Well and rose won’t speak to me for some unknown reason 🤒
But I do like tequila. To much

Datun · 31/07/2019 22:09

Well, OK if so that's good to know at least.

They decomposing doesn't like me being amused, but this drivel is rather droll.

Datun · 31/07/2019 22:09

I know, not they.

RosesAndRaindrops · 31/07/2019 22:11

They decomposing doesn't like me being amused, but this drivel is rather droll

You literally said to
Either biological women have control of their own minds and bodies or they don't

That's not feminism

If you didn't mean that, what did you mean then? As that's how it comes across.
So you do think that women (biological women can think for themselves and have their own opinions without being brainswashed into them, then?

Michelleoftheresistance · 31/07/2019 22:12

Literality and rigidity of meaning seem to be an issue in successfully communicating here. Which is odd when one of the points of debate (other than whether anyone is allowed to say cowbag bitches) is that GC women wanting shared meaning and clarity based on reality and fact is oppressive and ungenerous.

littlbrowndog · 31/07/2019 22:13

am I Owen Jones 🤔

Datun · 31/07/2019 22:13

As that's how it comes across.

Again, all the lols. It's one thing to claim complete incomprehension, it's quite another thing to complain you can't read
