Rohit you're a bellend. End of.

Also looking forward to Prick News's take on this!

Popchyk · 29/06/2019 00:42

Ha.

Rohit: "Transwomen are women. End of"

Joani Walsh: "Straight men are gay. End of".

titchy · 29/06/2019 00:42

This has to be the tweet of the day:

This person may be foamsexual or batteryromantic or kitchengender

I wanna be kitchengender GrinGrinGrin

Popchyk · 29/06/2019 00:47

I see myself more of a foamsexual kind of gal, personally.

In a maverique kind of way of course.

ZebrasAreBras · 29/06/2019 00:48

Oh Rohit.

"Straight men are gay. End of" - is just the funniest thing ever.

Adrian & Owen maintain studious silence.

The ground is literally shaking with the rank hypocrisy in LGBT Labour right now.

Come on boys. If men can take women's political places - then straight men can take gay men's political places. White people can take BAME political places. This is Self ID. We TOLD you this.

TheBigBallOfOil · 29/06/2019 06:38

Bicker is spot on. I was amazed by how many city law firms and banks leapt on the trans wagon until I realised - of course. From their POV these are the best kind of women - the kind that can’t have babies. And all their maternity discrimination which is utterly appalling can be swept under the carpet.

GCAcademic · 29/06/2019 06:50

I see Rohit is yet another if those intellectually-challenged queer studies academics. Doesn't he realise that what the successful candidate is doing is queering queer culture?

TriptychDebbie · 29/06/2019 06:58

Rohit's once again getting his arse handed to him with his recent 'transwomen are women' comment' and still doesn't get it. He is one of those responsible for what happened to him yet is still chasing his own tail and doubling down.

The arrogance and cognitive dissonance of Rohit and his ilk has pretty much destroyed the Labour Party and it'll be a cold day in Hell before I vote for them again.

YessicaHaircut · 29/06/2019 07:05

I want to meet the chap who was elected to the post and buy him a pint. That LGBT Labour Twitter feed is awesome 👏

TurboTeddy · 29/06/2019 07:09

Penis News article, studiously avoids the "straight white man" quote!

www.pinknews.co.uk/2019/06/28/lgbt-labour-homophobia-west-ham/

TurboTeddy · 29/06/2019 07:11

But did include a tweet with it.

GCAcademic · 29/06/2019 07:14

Rohit's once again getting his arse handed to him with his recent 'transwomen are women' comment' and still doesn't get it.

People like him are ideologues. There is no appeal to logic with people like that. I saw another tweet of his where he referred to people in the Labour party who are "moderate / far right". Yes, Rohit, they are exactly the same thing Hmm

TriptychDebbie · 29/06/2019 07:24

Could he be the new Lily Madigan @GCAcademic? Who in my humble opinion is an underrated comedy genius.

EweSurname · 29/06/2019 07:43

If the man who won did say homophobic things, then this is a sad situation. It still doesn’t take away from the fact that all the self id supporters can’t see the hypocrisy in being upset over this and then begrudging women not wanting men (often misogynistic men) representing them!

DuMondeB · 29/06/2019 08:07

Maybe the straight man’s female partner identifies as a man?

Threehoursfromhome · 29/06/2019 08:18

Reading the Pink News article and the earlier one from the Newham Reporter, the election of the apparently straight man to the LGBT post appears to be part of the broader campaign by Christian and Muslim parents against LGBT-inclusive teaching in schools, similar to the protests going on in Birmingham at the moment.

I am speculating, but this may be one reason why the name of the winning candidate has yet to be released. If he has a name which is identifiably Muslim, the whole issue becomes even more thorny for the Labour party: it’s not just about LGBT rights, and whether LGBT is a coherent category, but also about religious beliefs and racial politics.

Ultimately, the winning candidate was elected in what appears to have been a fair vote and won. If Labour want to overturn that vote they need a solid policy reason for doing so. I don't see that they can treat this as a one-off, because that looks like they are targetting a particular result/group they don't like. This is self-inflicted though, if trans falls under the LGBT umbrella and self id as trans is allowed, then there was always the possibility that people opposed to LGB rights would exploit that loophole.

1984in2019 · 29/06/2019 08:23

That twitter feed is comedy gold.
Labour LGBT eats itself.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 29/06/2019 08:28

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 29/06/2019 08:37

This situation does truly warrant the phrase invented by a postert on here

checkwoke motherfuckers

Grin

I've decided to just let the schadenfreude take me. we're all fucked anyway, I may as well get my laughs where I can

do we think Little Owen Jones is trapped under something heavy somewhere, desperately straining to reach his phone so he can tweet his insights on this situation?

MrsBertBibby · 29/06/2019 08:43

So they didn't vote in a vote they knew was scheduled, and then got cross the people opposing them won that vote?

ZebrasAreBras · 29/06/2019 08:44

I think I'll have a go at an academic paper. Or a Medium article (near enough the same thing these days Wink )

Working title:

"Queering the Straight White Male: Why he is oppressed by the LGBT community."

"In these days of Inclusivity, the LGBTQ+++ movement must be mindful not to exclude the small, marginalised group of Queer Straight White Males - who are in danger of becoming Britain's most oppressed ever..."

"Exclusion of the queer-straight community by LGBTQ groups, when it comes to employment opportunities, political positions and pointless award ceremonies, is unacceptable and unkind. LGBTQ groups must be kind and inclusive. Straight white males can be queer too, and by self-ID'ing as part of the Queer community, the straight white male does not have to make any material changes to his lifestyle - the mere act of identifying as Queer is quite enough. Who are we to tell the queer straight white male that he cannot be special too?"

Reckon I'm onto something! Grin

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 29/06/2019 08:54

People would absolutely believe that zebra

Its hard to tell what’s parody and whats not nowadays

Eaudear · 29/06/2019 08:54

Doesn't it feel shit Rohit when things meant for you are taken over by people those things arent meant for? A while back I would have been in solidarity with you, but not any more.

Never has the phrase, 'what goes around comes around' been more appropriate.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 29/06/2019 08:56

And i adore

checkwoke motherfuckers

I might try and squeeze that in my conversations today

Child.....Mum can i have a slice of cake?

Me....No

Me....CHECKWOKE MOTHERFUCKER

I just don't think it should be confined to ‘woke’ stuff

TheBullshitGoesOn · 29/06/2019 09:12

If you wrote that article carefully zebra, using established queer levels of clarity, then I'm sure you'll get some wokewankers agreeing with it without understanding what it is saying.
