What are they debating if they won't include somebody who disagrees with them?

Can’t listen to Cooper atm- how was the show?

Am I naive in hoping it was balanced?

I thought it was OK. They had on Kate Shanahan, journalism prof from DIT, who discussed why it's such a heated issue and editorial decisions when making a show like Prime Time; Ellen Murray from TENI, who gave the line you would expect (pro-affirmation, critics don't know what they're talking about) plus Stella O'Malley and her own personal story of wanting to be a boy when she was a child. All quite calm and reasonable to my mind.

Interestingly, few if any of the protesters appear to be obviously trans. Obligatory woke beardy blokes and a bluehair are in attendance, of course.

A comment on Twitter is confusing me.

There’s a difference between gender dysphoria and being Transgender. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness that shouldn’t be treated by transitioning. Not every trans person will experience gender dysphoria and many non trans people can experience it too.

Thing is I've heard this before.

If people with dysphoria shouldn't transition, who should? Why have the surgery if you don't have dysphoria?
