Without MaryZ to fly the flag this is going unnoticed on Mumsnet.

Graham Linehan was invited by RTE to take part in a panel on Trans issues. There are now petitions to have him removed.

I hope that one day all these woke misogynists are exposed for what they are.

merrymouse · 23/01/2019 20:41

It's the woke bro version of not believing women.

Bluestitch · 23/01/2019 20:48

He seems to have lost the plot a bit now- deleting some of his worst tweets and randomly blocking anybody who tries to show him the evidence that he's asking for. Somebody says they also provided him evidence on FB so he deleted it and blocked them. And not a single like on his posts. Has he even gone too far for Harrop? Shock

What I don't get is why being supportive of self ID means you have to completely deny that any trans person might not behave well. I'm as GC as they come but wouldn't support a GC woman who was being abusive and threatening.

merrymouse · 23/01/2019 20:54

What I don't get is why being supportive of self ID means you have to completely deny that any trans person might not behave well.

It's not even necessarily about people who are trans. 'Creepy men who will use any excuse to abuse women' covers it. Does he not think those people exist?

papayasareyum · 23/01/2019 21:24

and lovely Linda Riley, who couldn’t answer a single question intelligibly on women’s hour with Julie Bindel (it was embarrassing for her, Julie had actual proper points to make, Linda parroted rhetoric) is gleefully tweeting about Glinner’s twitter followers decreasing. So childish.

InionEile · 23/01/2019 21:53

It's sad to see the hatred directed at Glinner for his decision to speak up for women. He's brave to speak out and what he is saying isn't even controversial. What is controversial about saying that young people should not be allowed to make permanent, irreversible decisions about their bodies before reaching the age of 18?

Taking hormones or delaying puberty is a big decision that has long-term consequences. And as the woke bros incessantly tell us - gender is fluid, identity is self-defined. If that's the case, then why put young people on a path to a permanent identity change that they cannot reverse later in life? Yes, you can medically detransition but if you have destroyed your fertility through puberty blockers, your options are limited.

This is all about woke virtue signaling. No-one seriously believes that a 16-year old should be allowed to permanently alter their body without parental input or psychological counseling.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 23/01/2019 23:01

bluestitch your last post re Comerford losing the run of himself has definitely cheered me up. I had a tweet run in with him myself a few months ago- the man has lost all perspective.

I think he forgets that a lot of his followers will be parents, some of whom started following him because of his openness when talking about his two girls with autism. They aren’t woke bros, and are more likely to be concerned about the issues raised on Prime Time than impressed by him harassing women on SM.

ludog · 24/01/2019 08:40

He blocked me in the wake of his frothing at Stella O Malley's documentary. I didn't even say anything particularly inflammatory but any disagreement was enough to warrant blocking. My dd was saying she wanted to read his book and I was telling her what he's like on twitter so she said she couldn't read it knowing that! She's my big GC ally. My youngest is bi and very in thrall to the TWAW brigade. I'm working on her gently Wink

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/01/2019 22:26

So much for my hope for Donal O'Shea... Irish Examiner

merrymouse · 25/01/2019 08:39

From the Irish examiner:

“arguments that this particular guest brings up are just not grounded in facts, in research or in experiences of trans people on the ground.”

Great! Now if you could just define trans...

‘Trans’ can’t both be a homogenous group and also an identity that is completely subjective, only defined in vague non specific terms.

Amazing!

Graham Linehan
@Glinner
Exciting news! I just landed a three-book deal for a series of young adult novels written from a gender-critical viewpoint. More details soon!

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 25/01/2019 12:17

Grin Pain

Let’s give it thirty seconds until the TRAs find the publisher and they start their twitter storm.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 25/01/2019 12:21

I’m sure they’re on it already! Perhaps we could sending them publishers Lionel shriver’s article on not ceding to twitter mobs that r0 posted on another thread

BettyDuMonde · 25/01/2019 13:17

I saw him attack Cale, the detransitioned woman from the Channel 4 Trans Kids programme

The Transagenda is clearest when you witness how detransitioners are treated.

You can’t have pre medical transition counselling because that would be ‘conversion therapy’
But if you end up detransitioning, regretting the outcome of surgeries or synthetic hormone use, tough shit, because you were clearly never truly trans in the first place.

Bluestitch · 25/01/2019 13:31

Christ Aidan Comerford is OBSESSED with Glinner. Professional jealousy maybe? Tim Minchin called him creepy and rude for policing what tweets he liked but then deleted the tweet. He doesn't however get alot of interaction from other TRAs compared to others, very few likes. Wonder why? Is he too creepy even for them?

Ampersandcolon · 25/01/2019 13:31

That's great news re the YA novel. I'm thrilled to hear that

Bluestitch · 25/01/2019 13:33

Tim Minchin's deleted tweet.

Bluestitch · 25/01/2019 13:34

He's also policing followers. Apparently TM has the nerve to follow both Gia and Glinner Shock

pachyderm · 25/01/2019 13:55

He's a fucking nonentity. Quite a few parents I know followed him through his writing on parenting but the bullying and harassing women thing isn't a good look. You're right, he's not getting much support.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 25/01/2019 14:28

I don't know what's going on - Glinner's tweeted this about the book deal

Graham Linehan
‏*@Glinner*
Sorry I just said stop lying to someone and this was a huge lie.

Ampersandcolon · 25/01/2019 14:42

I don't understand. Is there a book deal or isn't there?

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 25/01/2019 14:44

I've got no idea!

SunsetBeetch · 25/01/2019 16:01

He was trolling.

teawamutu · 25/01/2019 18:31

Great tweet from Tim Minchin, wish he hadn't deleted it. That was nearly a GC confession...
