'Bristol grime artist Andy Anokye, Solo 45, on trial for 22 rapes'
A Bristol grime artist is on trial accused of multiple rapes.
Andy Anokye, AKA Solo 45, 31, of Millennium Promenade in the city centre, denies a plethora of charges and is due to have a five-week hearing at Bristol Crown Court.
He faces 22 charges of rape; two charges of actual bodily harm (ABH), five false imprisonments and two assaults by penetration.
Solo 45 rose to fame in 2014 with the single Feed Em To The Lions.
The rapper’s electronic take on grime has seen him work with Stormzy, Skepta, Wiley and JME after starting his career as a member of Boy Better Know.
On day one (Thursday, January 10) the jury was told Andy Anokye, AKA Solo 45, raped women and filmed it, while a woman claimed that the Grime star said that "My sex is on the verge of rape".
After the trial was adjourned due to illness, it eventually continued several days later when the prosecution concluded their opening speech on Wednesday, January 16, saying that Anokye told police he had "rough, consensual sex games".
The following day, the defence lawyers told the jury that he is not a 'monster'. (continues with updates from case)
