Nice thread with lovely wishes for transpeople

Can we have a thread where we just say nice things we wish for transpeople by gender critical feminists? We are always framed as horrible bigots when actually a lot of concerns stem from a place of being caring maternal women.

So actually what do we think? Rather than what they (TRA's I mean, I know there are a few GC TW who understand our motives are not transphobia or bigotry) say we think because we are trying to keep our own rights

I'll start with a few of my own thoughts:

  • I wish for transpeople to be comfortable in their bodies, I feel gender dysphoria must be incredibly difficult to live with and I hope that they find support available to help them and aren't stuck with waiting lists that last years or fobbed off with ten mins when they do want support

  • I wish for transpeople to have safe access to drugs they may need that have a decent safety rate and have been tested for long enough that they aren't being human ginea pigs or suffering horrific side effects

  • I wish for transpeople to have safe spaces for transpeople in prisons, shelters etc

  • I wish for transpeople not to be unable to enjoy sex as a side effect of drugs or surgery

... I'm hoping that this will continue in a nice way... and perhaps the debates can stay on other threads so it is absolutely clear that we don't hate transpeople, we would just like to keep our own rights but we are actually pretty thoughtful and concerned in some of our arguments for fellow human beings

Great idea. The notion that those who think sometimes it is biological sex that is relevant rather than gender somehow have a problem with or hate trans people is mendacious and harmful.

I wish for every trans person telling their family their identity to have nothing but love and support from them.

It's a lovely idea op. I have no ill will towards trans people. I just don't agree with trans ideology.

I hope trans people can come to terms with their objective realities

I hope they are surrounded by support

I don't think any decent person could disagree with that statement, especially feminists who understand how important human rights are to vulnerable people.

I wish for transpeople to have access to safe spaces and appropriate support as I can't imagine what experiencing gender dysphoria would be like.

I wish for transpeople to end up in a place where their very real struggles aren't continuously being capitalised by a loud group of TRAs as I worry very real struggles and issues might be missed or hidden.

Trans rights are human rights. Doesn’t mean that mtf transsexuals are women and can access women’s prisons or that sex as a protected characteristic shouldn’t be defended.

I'd like everyone under the broad trans umbrella, from GNC to "full transition," to have safe and unimpeded access to employment, education, housing etc, free from harassment.

I think some services should retain a female-only option, but that doesn't mean I think there should be no equivalent services for trans people. Should go without saying, but apparently not.

Trans rights are human rights.
Women's rights are human rights.
Men's rights are human rights.
Children's rights are human rights.

I hope that everyone can live in peace and harmony, supporting and respecting each other, protecting and helping those who need help and protection.

Doesn't mean I think that men can magically become women or vice versa though.

Everyone should be able.to dress and express themselves how they wish (as long as no harm to others).
I have a close family member who is trans, and I hope that their medical care brings them the peace and wellbeing they think it will. We just want them to be happy in themselves.

Yes @CathyDyson but I think it's unfair to both transpeople and women who are GC that we have been pitted as enemies in the first place. We are not enemies. We won't give up our rights but that does not equate as is suggested often to not wanting them to have rights themselves. Trans rights are absolutely human rights!

I hope that trans people, trans kids especially, receive thorough and long term mental health support through their journey (whatever that may be and whatever direction it may take)

I have a “live and let live” philosophy as long as you’re not harming other people or animals etc. I wish for trans people to be happy and live freely as they see fit. I only draw the line when giving one group of people rights means infringing upon the rights of others. As a society we need to find the best solution to accommodate everyone.

I wish for trans people to be able to wear what they want when they want. i wish for trans people to just feel comfortable in their day today business.

I wish for trans people to have peace.

I wish the same for all people though....

@HestiaParthenos I'm not aware of one. I don't go on TRA forums. But we are defending our rights not demanding theirs and get labelled bigots and transphobic by TRA's. I don't think it's necessary for me to need a thread where TRA's are nice to me for me to start one which is about genuine concern and well wishes for transpeople, plenty of whom are not in fact TRA's. I don't hate them.

Women who are GC don't have to be, and can choose not to participate but can be honest in well wishes if they wish to on this thread.
