I’ve hit peak trans!

Thanks, ‘Dr’ Rachel McKinnon.

What made you hit peak trans, and why? Apologies if this has been done to death - new to this topic.

Do you think Rachel realised her agenda has spectacularly backfired and peak transing thousands? For the first time in my life I, a staunch labour voter, feel I have to rethink my political leanings and can no longer support a party that are choosing to collide in misogyny and support self ID.

Well, F4 is clearly purposely ignoring blissfully unaware of the widened trans umbrella then.

And that the gender dysphoric individuals who hate their penises are no longer necessarily the majority of those call themselves trans .

I'm sure if F4 isn't just a troll (and I'm not convinced, not sure anyone could be that ignorant of reality and that focused on making women's needs secondary at all times) F4 is old enough to remember when a distinction used to be made between transsexuals (gender dysphoric) and transvestites (cross-dressers, often fetishists) These are two completely different groups with different motivations and needs.

Now the Stonewall trans umbrella includes both, blurred together - "acceptance without exception". To the annoyance of a lot of transsexual people themselves. It completely uses them and co-opts and appropriates their needs.

Cross-dressing is a common paraphilia among sex offenders. According to MOJ figures, nearly half of all trans people in prison are sex offenders (as opposed to around 19% of the non-trans male prison population). And the govt was warned by gender specialists who deal with trans people in prisons that there were indeed some who would try to transition in order to get access to the female estate. Which funnily enough keeps proving to be the case.

F4 - you need to wake up to reality. You won't though, even when more and more stories keep coming out that challenge it. Too involved in your own ego and need to be right. I think if you are as righteous as you appear to think you are, you're going to be very ashamed of yourself in a few years time, when everything that's been going on has come out.

BlackShutters · 26/10/2018 02:37

The whole lady brain bullshit annoyed me from the beginning so I peaked the first time I heard it years ago.

That was an epic rant posted on the first page. I live in Massachusetts and we have a ballot question coming up in November that would repeal our public accommodation law which lets men go wherever the hell they want.

Do I share that on Facebook? Am I brave enough? I think maybe I am.

ItsalmostSummer · 26/10/2018 03:12

Transwomen are men. Nothing has changed since the beginning of time.
Men are boys born with a penis.
Women are girls born with a vagina.
If there is any confusion at any time it can be fixed with a blood test - that will tell you the truth. Always.

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 08:14

A majority of women on these boards are trying to infiltrate Mumsnet and spread a horrid anti-trans message. You set up a multitude of threads - several on a tv programme, Butterfly to condemn the struggles of trans people and their families. You even condemn a trans Remembrance Day. Many of you are revisionists. It is disgraceful and makes me sick

gendercritter · 26/10/2018 08:36

Infiltrate Mumsnet? Many of us have been here for years.

Did you read the thread 'Tell MNHQ why you're here' F4? It's 36 pages of MNers saying they value these posts and our position.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3377940-Tell-MNHQ-why-you-use-Mumsnet

It's worth a read.

And stop with the anti-trans please. We aren't. We are pro-women. There is a huge difference

I’m talking about the women who are obsessed with spreading anti trans propaganda. It is here on these boards every day.

FermatsTheorem · 26/10/2018 08:47

I still think the most useful analogy for trans issues is religious tolerance. Believe what you want - it's a free country. Dress how your beliefs dictate - again it's a free country. No-one should be allowed to discriminate against you in terms of employment (though the issue of whether you are a suitable person to carry out the duties your job will require, given your belief-set, is a relevant one). No-one should be allowed to discriminate against you for renting a flat, or buying your weekly shopping.

But you don't get to impose your beliefs on others (require them to recite the catechism, tweet that "transwomen are women", deny them information about where to obtain contraception or abortion services if you are a HCP, shower next to women if you are a penis-holder).

You know, the most common thing men say about feminists, is that feminists are man-haters. It’s because men are opposed to any form of woman-centred discourse which excludes considerations of men.

There is a significant difference between considering the impact of self ID and the colonisation of women’s existence by men, and transphobia. No women on here wish harm to any individual, trans or otherwise. But the consideration of the impact of men, as a class, on women, as a class, is not hate-speech, no matter how hard you spin it.

It probably didn’t help your cause that your chosen spokes-people are willing to put their misogyny, aggression and perversion front and centre.

LangCleg · 26/10/2018 08:57

trying to infiltrate Mumsnet

Irony is dead.

Gncq · 26/10/2018 09:01

97% of Times readers agree with us.
88% of Leeds-Live readers agree with us.
Only 28% of politicians agree with them.
We are not a minority.
People consistently "peak trans" after hearing just a few facts about what is actually happening.

I am not "anti-trans".

I support trans rights. I support transgender identities to be recognised for what they are, trans identities, and for them to live life free from abuse and discrimination.
I do not believe humans can change sex and I will fight for same-sex provision to remain but will fight alongside transpeople in finding space for them in most likely "unisex" environments to include transpeople and not-trans people who are fine with unisex.
I will support finding clearer words to describe transpeople wrt sexual orientation. It is beyond me how Stonewall, the biggest and most influential LGBT org, has not questioned the frequent (mis)use of the word "lesbian" by males.
Why aren't they coming up with and promoting a new word? Translesbian would suffice. I support and will fight for transpeople's right to be recognised in their own right. Any changes to birth certificates should proudly recognise a trans identity by adding the words "transwoman" or "transman" as birth certificate options.

I will always fight for same sex provision as it is hugely important.

I will not support upholding harmful stereotypes in the guise of "trans-equality" or the eradication of recognising our sex based differences.

Gosh feminist4 women have been fighting & opposing male violence since the dawn of time.
You remind me of that journalist who didn’t think Julie Bindel cared about women in prison because she had a null return twitter search for one case.

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 09:19

But I these boards the women only report trans violence. An agenda? Of course.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 26/10/2018 09:23

if you think there's something of interest that deserves a thread on here Feminist4, start one

whining that other people aren't doing what you think they should just makes you look a bit odd

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 09:24

I fight transphobia whoever it pops up.

You're not doing a very good job at fighting transphobia.

If it's the majority of women on these boards who think a certain way, then it's not a case of infiltrating, is it?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/10/2018 09:31

Newsflash: Mumsnet posters infiltrate Mumsnet.
Shocking revelation that 100% of posters on Mumsnet use the site.

Deathgrip · 26/10/2018 09:31

Yesterday I saw a feminist tell another feminist that self-ID brings no danger because “cis women sexually assault cis women” too.

Seeing a feminist deny that men are the biggest danger to women is mind boggling to me. It also subtly implies that the only people who aren’t a threat to women are trans women.

So which is it? If trans women are women, and women assault other women, trans women are a threat too.

Certain women with an anti trans agenda are spreading horrid anti trans views on here to try to persuade Mumsnetters that trans women are dangerous. It is hideous.

It's a radicalisation portal!!!!!

Because women aren't intelligent enough to read up and form their own opinion on this stuff.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/10/2018 09:35

It is hideous

Yep, and untrue.
