I’ve hit peak trans!

Thanks, ‘Dr’ Rachel McKinnon.

What made you hit peak trans, and why? Apologies if this has been done to death - new to this topic.

Do you think Rachel realised her agenda has spectacularly backfired and peak transing thousands? For the first time in my life I, a staunch labour voter, feel I have to rethink my political leanings and can no longer support a party that are choosing to collide in misogyny and support self ID.

Hmmm, all those men I see dressing up as women to attack them. You can’t go anywhere without seeing one lurking. Really? Can you be serious?. Is this worth suspending freedoms of trans people for? If these cross- dressing rapists exist, the police need to get on to them. Don’t create a tinpot dictatorship that limits everyone’s freedoms because some violent criminals may take advantage. That way madness lies. It’s like Trump’s wall.

VerbeenaBeeks · 26/10/2018 00:19

Been here for years, completely new to the debate past year or soon discovering this board, and looked into both sides, even posted early days of learning it all gender critically.
I thought I hit peak trans after reading this board and going down the OMG route, one prolific poster with one post put me right though and made me hit peak rad fem instead.
Thank goodness.
As I'm for women and transwomen, just didn't know much about the latter to start with.

FadingMint · 26/10/2018 00:21

Laughs ucontrollably at that latest F4 post Smile

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 26/10/2018 00:21

We’re not arguing to suspend any freedoms. We want to protect the safety dignity & opportunities of biological women & girls.
Because those protections are justified and have been hard won and we won’t betray vulnerable women & our daughters who need them, just because a man thinks he knows what a woman is.

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 00:25

You won’t be betraying them. You just accept vulnerable trans women into the fold and stop defaming them.

DrizzledWombat · 26/10/2018 00:26

Who said anything about cross-dressing? I was a man yesterday, I'll be a man tomorrow, but right now I'm self-identifying as a woman. And if you object you're being transphobic, and I'll have you ejected from the changing room.

I honestly find it bizarre that anyone can judge this to be an unlikely scenario. There are, manifestly, men who will assault, rape and murder women and girls, and you honestly believe that there aren't men who will take temporary advantage of self-ID to have a perv in the changing room? If that's genuinely the case, you are utterly deranged.

Feminist4 · 26/10/2018 00:29

They can already go into a changing room dressed as a woman. I don’t seem to have heard any rumours of that happening though, ever!

FadingMint · 26/10/2018 00:30

But they're still men. How are we supposed to tell which ones are abusers? Because even when they're dressed as women, they can still be abusers.

I still say NO to men in women's spaces and I'm looking very closely at the child protection implications of trans, what with me being a mother.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 26/10/2018 00:30

Accepting males into a space reserved for females is a betrayal.
I believe trans rights are human rights, I just don’t believe people can change sex, and I think sex based protections are paramount.
No discrimination on the basis of people’s chosen gender identity, but no special treatment either.

When the IOC published their rules for trans competitors. A friend sent me an angry email about it and I honestly thought it was a joke. It was so utterly preposterous. Then I heard about Fallon Fox kicking the shit out of Tamika Brents and that was it...peaked.

NotZenEnough · 26/10/2018 00:39

My first #peaktrans was the delightful Challenors in August, but it happens most days where I read or hear something unbelievable or deeply worrying.
@Feminist4 trolling an mn feminism board is #peaktransing me right now.
I'm going to start doing pelvic floor exercises each time I am #peaktransed. pelvic floor will be in great shape very soon.

Danaquestionseverything · 26/10/2018 00:42

Ha. If questioning the trans narrative makes me a transphobic bigot. So be it. I really don't give a flying fuck. Women have been called all sorts of names for millennia. Sticks and bloody stones. It's all really water off a ducks back. Nobody is buying the "Words are literal violence" line anymore.

The true believers are so inebriated on the koolaid they cannot see the coming backlash. For some women it's been a long time coming. A slow drip, drip, drip becomes a light rain, then a downpour.

So go ahead chant the mantras, push the narrative, even change the laws. No one is obligated to obey an unjust law. No one should be compelled to believe an obvious lie. Truth will out.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/10/2018 00:46

Brilliant idea!

FadingMint · 26/10/2018 00:46

Women are women.
Men are men.

We take it from there!

DrizzledWombat · 26/10/2018 00:52

What's with your cross-dressing fixation? If self-ID happens, I can wander up to my local gym in jeans and a t-shirt and ogle to my heart's content. I don't need to wear a dress.

I've answered your questions. Your turn. Do you genuinely believe that some non-trans men won't take advantage of self-ID? And if so, given that some non-trans men are happy to rape women and girls, why?

VerbeenaBeeks · 26/10/2018 00:58

I don't think anyone is objecting to genuine self ID concerns. These boards can go waaaaaay beyond that though and it's not just about self ID.

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 26/10/2018 00:59

I peaked from one of them tweeting about his period pains...I still find it surprising how it isn't viewed as a mental health issue. If you dare suggest it is then suddenly you're a bigoted she-devil running the 'you can't sit with us' club.

StrangeLookingParasite · 26/10/2018 00:59

Peak trans for me was when I realised that women on here still believe in bogey men (in women’s clothing) in the locker room.

You are a misogynist who cannot see past the end of their own nose. I have serious doubts about your truthfulness, as well.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 26/10/2018 01:03

Peak trans for me was when I realised that women on here still believe in bogey men (in women’s clothing) in the locker room.

In Australia, this month, and it’s not even the end of the month, men have killed ELEVEN women. That makes 58 women killed this year and, tragically, we know the statistics and can anticipate that horrible number will rise.

Women are at risk from men. Allowing men even more access to women’s spaces is putting more women at risk. You may know your alleged daughter is not a risk to women; other women have no way of knowing.

The Paul Denyers and “Karen” Whites of this world should be enough to show you that transwomen can indeed be a threat to women.

I’m not even super-fussed about sharing public toilets with transwomen, but I won’t share a changing room, a hospital room or any other public space, where I am vulnerable, with unknown men, whether they’re wearing a dress and lippy or not.

Your complete lack of understanding about these concerns is indicative of the way in which TRAs have tried to run right over the top of women’s concerns.

DrizzledWombat · 26/10/2018 01:10

I don't think anyone is objecting to genuine self ID concerns. These boards can go waaaaaay beyond that though and it's not just about self ID.

I think that there are shitloads of people objecting to genuine self-ID concerns, because they haven't thought about it properly. Yes, I agree that there are Mumsnet forum members who will cheerfully go beyond that, but I don't think that most would have felt the urge to do so were it not for self-ID. This is a self-inflicted wound.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 26/10/2018 01:12

This article is a couple of years old and might not get published now, but it’s an instructive look at the way the left has channeled its misogyny, while pretending to be inclusive and supportive of women’s rights.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman

Hey there fellow Aussie.

Paul Denyer is claiming to be trans now? Holy shit. Mind blown. I listen to lots of true crime podcasts, yet somehow I missed that. I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised sadly. He is a truly evil specimen.

Coyoacan · 26/10/2018 01:27

I think I peak transed when I heard about a class of four-year-olds being shown a video explaining to them how easy it is to change sex if you don't fit in with some ridiculous stereotypes.

The feminist thing came later thanks to this page and won't go away.

Ereshkigal · 26/10/2018 01:38

Three examples. Crikey. Jess is alleged to have flashed. So what. You use individual examples to shame the majority. It isn’t ethical behaviour. I’m sure we can find similarly poor behaviour from some women. You just choose not to look for it.

Did you mean to say "some other women?
