Gather LM is saying that they had to give up the previous post because they left the area (to go to Goldsmiths) but they're now standing for the women's officer post in Lewisham Deptford CLP. Voting is on Sunday, apparently.

They are not fit for office. They do not have the balls for the job nor the strength of character/nerve for debate. You want an office who you text would put up a fight for you - Lily?

Nah. Whine about themselves being darowkrse worse off than you or run away shouting 'no fair! Stop harassing me! I'm sick, leave me alone, it was my brother...'

placemats · 23/10/2018 19:28

I've gone beyond anger, dismay, shock at the antics to now feeling only pity.

How bad is that? Pity.

FekkoTheLawyer · 23/10/2018 19:35

I used to feel pity. But then - wrf? At that age no one has the excuse for the folly or stupidity of youth.

Someone with no empathy or self awareness and the common sense of a carpet slipper deserves no pity, and yes, I for one will say 'HAHA serves you bloody well right - you can't say you weren't warned!' when comeuppance arrives.

FekkoTheLawyer · 23/10/2018 19:36

And it will - I'm old enough to realist that 99% of the time it does.

CarolDanvers · 23/10/2018 19:38

"Brilliant young activist".

In what way? What has "Lily" actually done that's "brilliant"? All I ever see is Lily whining about how intimidated Lily felt at various events and feeling very proud that they still managed to bravely triumph.

As an aside I do wish Lily would wash their hair more often. I honestly feel a bit sick when I see photos of them with constant greasy bedraggled locks.

NotANotMan · 23/10/2018 19:39

I don't feel pity for Lily. Lily is owed nothing but contempt.

FekkoTheLawyer · 23/10/2018 19:42

Well an entire nation has been hoodwinked or gaslighted (depending your opinion) so I guess that's an achievement.

They also got themselves a girlfriend which is pretty amazing really. Shame it didn't happen a few years ago.

Smart little surrealist.

KatVonGulag · 23/10/2018 20:03

I can't believe the comments Madigan has made on Twitter. Surely this brings the party into disrepute?

They are idiots. It was clear from those comments people have had enough of the bullshit.

FekkoTheLawyer · 23/10/2018 20:05

But to admit it would be to admit that they were wrong - which is something they will never do. Besides, they don't want to upset the bairns.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 23/10/2018 21:31

all transwomen are women but not all women are trans. Therefore a transwoman can speak of the female experience, but a ciswoman cannot speak on the trans experience.

So by the logic of that load of bollocks, a transwoman cannot speak on the 'cis' woman experience either, since they aren't 'cis' women. And 'cis' women (I hate and despise that word, but yes, in this it is used to mean the actual, female, women ones) are what.... 99.9% of the 'woman' population? So transwomen have no business taking women's posts where they cannot speak on behalf of women. So separate trans posts and women's posts. Agreed. Lovely. Glad we straightened that out.

Ereshkigal · 23/10/2018 22:23

Good use of personal data.

Exactly, pretty sure that isn't legal. I am a Labour Party member but have never shared my FB with them, wonder if Compliance would have emailed me?

FesteringCarbuncle · 23/10/2018 22:29

I was kicked out of The Labour Party Forum FB group because I wouldn't say TWAW. I didn't even say they were men I just said they were TW and were not the same as women who have specific needs due to our biology
A TW told me they were both a woman and a TW and so could speak for both groups. I said I wouldn't be happy for them to represent me as a bio woman and that was the end of me

Ereshkigal · 23/10/2018 22:35

So by the logic of that load of bollocks, a transwoman cannot speak on the 'cis' woman experience either, since they aren't 'cis' women.

Sadly they don't do logic. From what I saw that was already tried. Apparently there are " very few issues that pertain directly to having a womb, vagina or ovaries, transwomen are effected by all things ciswomen are effected by" except you've just contradicted yourself, you fuckwit

I can't due to threat of Labour Compliance sending me to the gulag, but someone should go and point out to her the LITERAL VIOLENCE and ERASURE of not putting a space between "trans" and "women".

LassWiADelicateAir · 23/10/2018 22:44

By deciding not to back Lily and other comrades, delegate spaces were left open for the right-wing of the Party, with some on the left effectively choosing this over the alternative of a united left

I'm greatly amused by this.

reallybadidea · 23/10/2018 22:54

all transwomen are women but not all women are trans.

Or as George Orwell, with his freaky prescience, wrote: 'all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others'.

AngryAttackKittens · 23/10/2018 22:57

So going by the link Shots posted, Lily tried to stand but the local branch of the party in Lewisham has had enough of Momentum and Lily was not voted in?

That's democracy, mate. People aren't actually required to vote for whatever fool Momentum puts forward.

AngryAttackKittens · 23/10/2018 22:59

I have a friend who's from Lewisham. She's not happy about the way Goldsmiths students have been trying to speak for the people who were born and raised there. The impression I'm getting is that most of the locals wish the lot of them would piss off.

ScarletBegonias · 23/10/2018 23:06

Lily was not voted in

Yeah - but it seems clear that Lily is still in the ballot for Sunday's vote. And there are people like Labour Left LGBT on Twitter urging everyone to vote for Lily.

I've no idea how any of this works. I'm still intrigued by the sinister sounding 'Compliance'. Is it some sort of committee monitoring all Labour members for unacceptable expression of views?

OP posts:
AngryAttackKittens · 23/10/2018 23:09

Anyone who's ever been to Deptford will immediately realize why the idea of Lily representing the women there is so absurd. Silly posh white kid who has no hope of grasping the issues that women there actually struggle with even if you put aside the trans issue.

If the Momentum lot manage to push Lily through to the position then all that will happen is the party's ties with local women will get weaker, which may well result in lower voter turnout next general election.

GiantKitten · 23/10/2018 23:11

All the missing GC posts have been hidden, not deleted, because Momentum police want to check them all with COMPLIANCE for party membership.

Is Ellen a GF or what?

Ereshkigal · 23/10/2018 23:21

I was just coming to post that too.

Ereshkigal · 23/10/2018 23:23

The impression I'm getting is that most of the locals wish the lot of them would piss off.

Wouldn't anyone?

AngryAttackKittens · 23/10/2018 23:23

Every time I see someone threaten a fellow party member with COMPLIANCE my confidence that Labour have a hope in hell of winning an election any time soon fades just that bit more.

Do they not realize how Orwellian that sounds or do they just not care?

Ereshkigal · 23/10/2018 23:24

It should definitely always be written in all CAPs.

LangCleg · 23/10/2018 23:24

I'm still intrigued by the sinister sounding 'Compliance'.

Before they started chucking out women for wrongthink, compliance was all about the various leadership elections and purging the supporters who wanted to vote for Corbyn - but then Momentum won and now they're doing the compliance purging. Or something. It's not Labour if it's not purging, I think we can all gather. It was funny when they purged Jason of the Sleaford Mods.

You too, could be a star of the compliance unit

(Not, I didn't make that up.)
