While the Pink News article initially looked like a smoking gun, as usual it appears that their "journalism" is terrible and they've attributed a general DOH statement directly to Hunt.

I'd be looking at the known homophobes very closely, as well as anyone with known ties to the Pritzker family.

OvaHere · 16/10/2018 22:34

I looked up JRM because I thought the same re his investment companies but he has been vocally critical of the GRA. Not hugely but enough to suggest it's not him (unless it's a double bluff thing Grin)

OvaHere · 16/10/2018 22:35

JRM is also a staunch freespeecher so unlikely to be a no debater.

LangCleg · 16/10/2018 22:41

Of the current cabinet, and assuming we're talking about a man, my money is on Liam Fox.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 16/10/2018 22:44

Of course it could be a woman.

poshme · 16/10/2018 22:45

JRM said something about people with Penises in women's changing rooms is worrying. Don't think it's him.

Liam Fox? Didn't he have an issue with a male staffer. Don't think he's homophobic.

ohello · 16/10/2018 22:48

Why would they be pushing this

There is an argument that if children are able to make huge life decisions like changing sex, they are also able to consent to sex.

I think it's more like... just generally confuse and groom the kids into accepting falsehoods such as up is down, rape is love, parents are the enemy, etc. It's all about preventing the kids from respecting or relying on their parents, which makes it easier for the pedos to sweep in.

Every once in a rare while I used to hear a gc person speculate about ties to pedophelia but it only very recently that I started taking that accusation seriously -- and now I can't unsee the connection!

I remember there was a group of trans who were going into schools in america last year, supposedly to talk about consent, and instead they discussed the benefits of anal sex and hiding info from the parents. At the time I assumed it was just another transperson being weird but now... well they DO keep gravitating towards pedophilia don't they?

This story was always very odd.

LangCleg · 16/10/2018 22:50

Adam Werritty.

If we're going the dodgy bastard angle, Fox sets off my creep radar no end.

dogdaysareover · 16/10/2018 22:53

I wrote to him about this a whole ago (he is my MP). I got a very non-committal reply. Hoping I peak-transed him.

heresyandwitchcraft · 16/10/2018 23:01

I am pretty sure Teresa May herself is in favour of self-ID.

Charliethefeminist · 16/10/2018 23:01

Please can someone who knows how, archive this thread. This is a nasty business. Justine deserves a medal.

Thank you so much everyone.

We really should all get burner phones and top up sim cards.

Charliethefeminist · 16/10/2018 23:03

Also, someone has given me a pop up amazon gift card bug. And I won't click on Pink News any more. I don't want their cookies thanks.

Pulltheotheroneitsgotbellson · 16/10/2018 23:06

Yes I realised too late JRM isn't a cabinet member Grin

I haven't time to verify all this - this Compilation of Parliamentary Financial Links to Private Healthcare however looks very comprehensive - Fox has links to Pfizer

19. Liam Fox – Conservative MP – became shadow health secretary in 1999 – employs Adam Werrity as a paid intern in 2004 – by this time Adam Werrity becomes a director of health consultancy firm ‘UK Health Ltd’ (now dissolved), while Liam Fox was shadow health secretary of which he and Liam Fox were shareholders. Werrity owned 11.5% of UK Health Group and Fox owned 2.3%. In 2005 a researcher based in Mr Fox’s office worked ‘exclusively’ for the now closed Atlantic Bridge ‘charity’, which Liam Fox was the founding member; Mr Werrity became director, and which had links to radical right-wing neocons in the U.S. The researcher received funding from Pfizer Inc. He claimed ‘she has no function in any health role.’The researcher was Gabby Bertin, who is now David Cameron’s press secretary. Received £5,000 to run his private office in October 2012 from investment company IPGL limited, who purchased healthcare pharma company Cyprotex. tapnewswire.com/2017/01/compilation-of-parliamentary-financial-links-to-private-healthcare/

parents are the enemy

People have said many times, me included, that the sense is more than totalitarianism, it's Cultural Revolution, Year Zero, Hitler Youth etc. Children bring turned against the parents, threats of removal, the authorities hiding information from families - we can't overestimate the seriousness of these moves.

This.

This Independent article form 2014 details how embedded Big Pharm is:

NHS bosses allowed a lobbying company working for some of the world’s biggest drugs and medical equipment firms to write a draft report which could help shape future health policy. NHS England commissioned a group called the Specialised Healthcare Alliance (SHCA) to consult with patients’ groups, charities and health organisations and produce a report feeding into its future five-year strategy for commissioning £12bn of services.

But the SHCA has confirmed to The Independent that it is entirely funded by commercial “members”. Its director, John Murray, is also a lobbyist whose company lists some of the world’s biggest drug and medical device firms as clients.

Secretariat services to SHCA are provided by a lobbying company called JMC Partners, whose senior partner is also Mr Murray.
JMC Partners’ clients include blue-chip drugs firms such as Novatis, Astro Zenica, Sanofi and Pfizer. It also represents a number of medical device manufacturers and biotech companies who sell their products to the NHS, including Roche Diagnostics, Cyberonics and Bausch & Lomb.

Pfizer does keep popping up....

•Charliethefeminist• it looks more and more like this to me. Also there is a bill proposed by David Lammy I think, making websites responsible for content, that is a real clamp down on free speech. You tube has taken down lots of stuff too.

GulagsMyArse · 16/10/2018 23:15

David Lammy, he who argued that prisoners should be housed in the estate of their gender ( not sex) GRA 2004. care to apologise to those women assaulted by KW Mr Lammy?

Charliethefeminist · 16/10/2018 23:15

I don't think the pressure on Mumsnet comes just from TRA complaining to advertisers.

My research tools are literally : Google. Trying, but it's rubbish. You lot are incredible.

I think this too.

Ditto

FermatsTheorem · 16/10/2018 23:19

David Lammy's bill is, quite frankly, terrifying.

Sajid Javid is also backing more all-encompassing laws against hate speech
www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/10/15/called-coconut-worse-know-important-stamp-hate-crime/

Now I can totally see why he would want to do so (as you might imagine, he's on the receiving end of particularly vile stuff himself), but there have to be checks and balances in there and the protection of free speech. (Hopefully something Javid should understand as he has spoken out about what a disgrace it was that cases of grooming were not followed up because people were frightened of being labelled as Islamophobic.)

ToeToToe · 16/10/2018 23:22

Yes, I agree Charlie and it's really bloody concerning.

Going back to David TC Davies, the LGBTLibDems are really throwing their toys out of the pram.

The meeting with DD today, and the campaigning success of FPFW (on a shoestring budget) has upset them, so they've decided to call it "inciting violence".

"Here’s “definitely not transphobic” Fair Play For Women telling “gangs of lads” that trans women are a threat to little girls. This kind of intimidation is disgusting. How DARE their tame journalists portray these transphobic thugs as victims? How dare they?"

Which is a little harsh, I think, considering this is the statement they were responding to:

Is that a Viagra joke?

There are definitely big business interests in this, but the activists on the ground are in it for personal reasons. We deal with the activists and go round in circles on Twitter, when actually we need to be more politically aware.
Previous posters are right, this won't fly with the public or with many Tory MPs. We need to keep shouting loudly in places where we are expected to be quiet until this issue becomes too toxic for the government to progress.
