Just seen on the BBC Wales news that Helen Webberley has been found guilty of providing an unregistered online medical clinic. She'll be sentenced next month.

I'm shocked that a doctor would blatantly go against guidelines because she - and she alone - knows better than the medical governing boards and actually had the balls to shout about it in public in the belief that she would get away with it.

It beggars belief.

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 19:12

It seems prison is only possible if you had a registration cancelled, not if you never had one to start with. So maybe no prison.

She did complain about vicious murderer Jenny Swift being in male prison.

So if she does go to prison then it would only be fair if she was in with some similar charming transladies.

Redkeyboard · 05/10/2018 19:15

Is this the dr lauded as the expert of all experts on gender on BBC five live recently by any chance? The one where they didn’t even mention on air she was under investigation by the GMC?

OrchidInTheSun · 05/10/2018 19:15

You are the weakest link, goodbye. Don't let the door hit your arse on the way Helen.

Dr Faye Kirkland @ FayekirklandGP
Online GP Services Ltd and ⁦**@MyWebDoctorUK**⁩ prosecuted for illegally providing online healthcare services. First prosecution of its kind in Wales

Dr Helen Webberley ⁦**@MyWebDoctorUK**
During the hearing when I explained I couldn’t stop providing services to my transgender patients as it would result in death and harm, HIW responded that ‘the safety of patients was not their concern. Well, the safety of my patients is MY greatest concern.

Hmmmmm they seem to leave out the fact that they refused registration as a clinic and then alleged OLGPS was running a medical agency. Discrimination against trans people extends to those who support them.

The problem is that Helen put her patients in a situation where they were dependent on her, and she acted in a way was illegal and never thought from the outset what happened if she was, for example, died unexpectedly.

That's not ethical behaviour. To say she was acting with her patients best interests first is a nonsense.

This is a woman with a disregard for medical ethics and registration - which is all about safeguarding.

It's not discriminating against trans people to require practitioners to be correctly registered with the relevant way. That's about protecting her patients.

If the authorities let doctors have the excuse that patients wouldn't have a doctor if a doctor wasn't allowed to keep practicing outside the frameworks of safeguarding, there would be no deterrent to stop every quack going or people dodging expensive registration. Which would put patients at risk.

This is emotional blackmail from a woman who has power over patients and does not understand why the system exists in the way it does and how it's designed to protect.

That it itself speaks volumes.

Yet this woman is being wheeled out as an "expert" by media companies. I think the last time she was, was last week - when surely this case was in progress and ongoing.

Given her previous history the failure of media companies to check up on her current status is a dereliction of their own duty as truth seekers and highlights the point so many have been making about how the 'trans' debate isn't subject to the same scrutiny you'd get in any other area.

It's a reoccurring theme. Scandals of all sorts - relating to bullying, lack of understanding of safeguarding principles and males exploiting the ideology - keep cropping up.

And even now I still think we needed 6 more months, and we'll be stitched up in a spectacular way.

Oh dear, what a pity, how sad etc. etc. They really do think they are above the Law, safeguarding and due process.
What’s the betting she will be painted as some kind of Joan of Arc by the TRAs ?

SophoclesTheFox · 05/10/2018 19:17

What are the gulag masters saying in twitter spear about one of their handmaidens being found guilty?

My money is on absolutely nothing!

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 19:17

She was on Reddit as a 'science' expert. A 'transman' said they had been diagnosed with autism & were wondering they were really trans. Her reply 'you have to treat the symptoms' [i.e. get dosed up on testosterone[. www.reddit.com/r/science/comments/5z4et8/science_ama_series_im_dr_helen_webberley_i_am_a/

gendercritter · 05/10/2018 19:18

Good! Thank goodness common sense has prevailed

RepealtheGRA · 05/10/2018 19:19

She is delusional and dangerous. What’s the betting this didn’t get the press attention it deserves and total radio silence from the BBC and Transian.

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 19:19

The gulaggers are still encouraging each other to vote for Helen & Bacon Miliband's episodes, so no they won't be commenting.

Mimmymum might, in her usual batshit way, come out with something about TERFs and Mumsnet being behind all of this

'I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you meddling TERFs'.

BBC news from April 2017. Easily googlable by fact-hungry BBC radio producers.

Good

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 05/10/2018 19:23

Good. I hope she goes to jail and is struck off.

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/10/2018 19:23

Good. This is one in the eye to mermaids!

RedToothBrush · 05/10/2018 19:23

presumably this is what is behind her proposed move to Spain to elude the law/wait for the law to catch up with her

I wonder how that works with Brexit?

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 05/10/2018 19:23

I can't find anything about guilty verdict?

If the David Challenor conviction is anything to go by, the mainstream media will be curiously reticent in reporting this.

Melamin · 05/10/2018 19:25

ooo this is trending. nice on Grin

RedToothBrush · 05/10/2018 19:25

'I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you meddling TERFs'.

I love scooby doo. Even though every episode was the exact same story.

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 19:25

Yes, we don't like criminals who harm children on Mumsnet. Wink

This one is a particularly embarrassing for the BBC...

A lot of egg on a lot of BBC faces, between this and the Challenor case.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 05/10/2018 19:31

It's indicative of the narcissism and arrogance that seems to infect this issue through and through.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 05/10/2018 19:31

Oh dear, what a terrible shame.
Sorry, just giving my sarcasm muscles a good work out.

Thank goodness sense has been seen. I suspect she will be handed a hefty fine rather than a custodial sentence. I'm not expecting all the woke activists to be of any help to her.

placemats · 05/10/2018 19:33

And Stonewall.
