Just seen on the BBC Wales news that Helen Webberley has been found guilty of providing an unregistered online medical clinic. She'll be sentenced next month.

Didn't nicky Campbell literally retweet her advert? That's embarrassing

Sarahconnor1 · 05/10/2018 18:57

Isn't she friends with Dr Harrop?

Harrop had retweeted the services of Webberleys husband only a few weeks aho

HIW has today successfully prosecuted Online GP Services Ltd and Dr Helen Webberley for illegally providing online healthcare services which require registration under the Care Standards Act 2000

The prosecution follows a period in which Dr Webberley had refused to stop providing services to patients. As a result, HIW proceeded with criminal action against Online GP Services Ltd and Dr Webberley for operating a service without being registered under Section 11 of the Care Standards Act 2000.

Both Online GP Services Ltd and Dr Webberley were found guilty at Merthyr Magistrates court today. Sentencing will take place on 2 November 2018.

Anyone want to go down the court to watch the good Dr. get sent down?

PurpleCrowbar · 05/10/2018 18:58

Bloody good news. Hope she gets the book thrown at her.

Excellent result. Time this whole shit show was fully investigated.

"(5)A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable on summary conviction—
(a)if subsection (6) does not apply, to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale;
(b)if subsection (6) applies, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or to both."

Ooh please six months in the slammer with a translady for Dr Helen. Send them a free six month supply of her trans-smarties for company

OldCrone · 05/10/2018 18:59

I can't find anything about guilty verdict?

I can't see anything on the website yet, but there was about 30 seconds on the 6.30pm news on BBC Wales. Should be on iplayer shortly.

Has anyone tweeted Nicky Campbell and the BBC? Didn't he tweet her advert on the back of a BBC Trans propaganda broadcast.

NotANotMan · 05/10/2018 19:00

Amazing. Thanks for finding this!

WokerThanWoke · 05/10/2018 19:00

Good to see some actual action and people being held accountable for what they have done.

SophoclesTheFox · 05/10/2018 19:01

Well this is excellent news.

Why does Dr Webberly think she is above the law, ethics, and most of all the. common bloody sense that your first option should always be to steer children away from making life altering decisions?

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2018 19:01

This makes me very very happy!

Couldn't have come at a better time.

She and her husband will, of course, just move their practice to Spain (they said they were doing this). Hope the GMC degregisters her.

Yes, also a nasty shock for Harrop, I would imagine. What a shame.

placemats · 05/10/2018 19:02

Good. I'm glad some judges rely on common sense.

OldCrone · 05/10/2018 19:03

Thanks for the links RealGhouls. Google didn't find anything.

SophoclesTheFox · 05/10/2018 19:03

presumably this is what is behind her proposed move to Spain to elude the law/wait for the law to catch up with her (delete as applicable)?

Meet0nTheIedge · 05/10/2018 19:03

Good. I'd never heard of her until she appeared, unchallenged, on Nicky Campbell's show a couple of weeks ago to dismiss biology as irrelevant. I've been reading about her since.

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 19:04

They're still tweeting lobbying for votes on the Prick News awards site

Barracker · 05/10/2018 19:05

Now that IS a cheering piece of news.

Excellent.

RealGhouls · 05/10/2018 19:05

Anyone who wants to vote for Ed Miliband bigging up convicted criminal Dr Helen please do so. www.pinknews.co.uk/2018/10/05/pinknews-awards-2018-nominees-revealed-for-the-broadcast-award/

BlardyBlar · 05/10/2018 19:05

More good news. Even if she moves to Spain, it demonstrates such practices are not allowed in the U.K.

LangCleg · 05/10/2018 19:09

The dominos really are falling one after the other, aren't they?

Yes.

Prison sentence! Well, I’m not going to get too excited, as I suspect someone with more powerful contacts will have a wee word with the judge. I’d say it’ll be a fine, but I really want to be wrong on this. What are the gulag masters saying in twitter spear about one of their handmaidens being found guilty?

WokerThanWoke · 05/10/2018 19:11

Can you be struck off for this?
