That's it really.

I'm not sure why people are arguing against Posie returning anyway, I don't think she has expressed a desire to do so and MNHQ have been asked many times and the answer remains no. I doubt KJ has time for MN on top of SFW and her media calls and YouTube channel.

ThickCutSteakChips · 26/06/2022 11:26

Yes, I imagine MN is pretty small fry for PP these days. And she probably said all she needed to say whilst she was here anyway.

Apologies usually happen if someone throws a milkshake or piss filled water ballon in your face.

Did the TRA thugs apologise to Belstaffie, a well known feminist activist, when they threw a milkshake at the back of her neck at an unrelated protest, just because she is a gender critical feminist?

Exactly, that is the kind of behaviour that should be apologised for. If the TRAs haven’t, they should do so.

But usual screaming insults and a bit of pushing/shoving when in a tight packed protest and the two sides are facing up…apologies usually not required from either side imho.

The women weren't protesting. They were having a speaking event. The men were protesting.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 11:33

Should women not be able to speak about women's issues in public without a gaggle of misogynistic men threatening them? Gender critical beliefs are WORIADS. Not great optics, which is why it made the press.

Which specific event are you referring to? I thought you were taking about the GC protest in Manchester where there was a TRA counter protest.

Discovereads · 26/06/2022 11:35

Sorry Bristol. What was the Manchester event? Is that what you’re talking about?

ThickCutSteakChips · 26/06/2022 11:35

Of course women can't be expected to speak in public without a load of balaclavaed men coming in and pushing and shoving them and shouting abuse at them.

What do you think this is, 2022 or something?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 11:36

It wasn't a protest. It was a speaking event, that's what KJ does.

Discovereads · 26/06/2022 11:36

Was it this Manchester event?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 11:37

Speakers Corner. There is one today at the original speakers corner, and she also does them in locations around the country. It's an open mic thing. Women sometimes bring their children, a 12 year old girl spoke at the Bristol one.

Cuck00soup · 26/06/2022 11:38

I agree that PP, LangCleg and others are probably too busy for MN these days.

Nonetheless I would like to see an open invitation from Justine making it clear that they are welcome to discuss GC feminism.

Where appropriate, I'd also like to see an apology to anyone who was banned after intervention by monitors. Especially where they identified to the mods what was happening at the time.

And I'd like to see the return of other posters who have removed themselves to avoid a ban or because they couldn't post truthfully.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 11:38

It wasn't an "anti trans protest", but nice twisting from PN.

Pink News is hilarious!

Also, they had originally planned to speak next to the suffragette statue, but a load of blokes dressed in black surrounded it, hence why they ended up speaking next to the art installment.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 11:48

Pink News is reliably hilarious. Anyone who quotes it as a source without fact checking is not someone I'm going to pay much attention to.

We may miss them their thoughtfulness, humour, expertise, and camaraderie. I should think some have moved on past the need for MN and are devoting their considerable energies elsewhere.

@Bowlofbabelfish is probably still busy with the little petri dish and her research portfolio. I've no idea where 'Cat from Japan' is these days.

The landscape is changing. There will always be a turnover in people here and others who remain.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/06/2022 11:56

YY. They have all contributed, MN has been such a big part of the pushback against gender identity ideology in this country. I listened to some ridiculous TRA podcast yesterday and they acknowledged this.

picklemewalnuts · 26/06/2022 11:58

"But again, calling these TRAs “Black Pampers” after the Black Panthers and then donning blackface to be a “Black Pamper” is something the GC activists should apologise for. They were the ones who brought race into it. They were the ones who came up with an offensive and racist term for the TRAs in black clothing. And they were the ones who cheered on a blackface parody mocking both TRAs and the Black Panthers. That’s not normal protest activity."

I don't think the Black Pampers reference was in anyway intended as racism. Not all uses of the word black are about race. They were head to toe in black, and acting like spoiled babies. Black panther has nothing to with race, as far as I'm aware. It's a feline, and possibly a famous burglar (?).

Mr Menno aimed for a specific look- head to toe in black and wearing a nappy. He should have realised it had potential for offence and done it differently. The fact he didn't speaks volumes about privilege. I don't think it makes it a racist act.

They were not the ones that brought race into it. Surely?

AlisonDonut · 26/06/2022 12:00

The thing that these planks at the likes of Pink News and Baby Shipman still haven't got their tiny minds round, is that Posie Parker AKA Kellie Jay Keen-Minshall only opens her mouth to see who has hissy fits to try and shut her up .

She doesn't give two shits what anyone thinks of her.

And if the Leftist press hadn't hidden away, petrified of a metaphorical milkshake being thrown at them, regarding the threat to women's rights, she wouldn't have needed to speak to anyone who is remotely on the 'right' of centre.

She didn't leave the left, the left left all of us who still believe in women's rights well behind.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 26/06/2022 12:02

As Ross Douthat said in response to this about the UK:

I am continually perplexed by the Anglophone divergence on transphobia. Why is there so much more TERF representation in the UK elite than in their US and Canadian peers?

Douthat's response: The answer is Mumsnet, I believe.

It has everything to do with this thread, Hellycakes. It's relevant to why the misogynistic men were being mocked in the first place. Either it's all relevant to the thread or none of it is.

Anyway, if anyone is in London and wants to have their day or see what the Speakers Corner events are about, there is one today. Any women can speak, and some men, KJ has said that she doesn't mind women coming up to tell her why they think she is wrong. Maybe there's your opportunity.
