Not posted much on this but been following the debate. Just heard interview with the Guide Leader at the centre of the GG issues (Helen I think) and announcement that they will be debating the whole trans issue after 9am with Nicky Campbell.

How many times was the word 'sex' used by anyone in that discussion? I don't recall hearing it once.

The doctor said this was a bit tricky!

NothingOnTellyAgain · 24/09/2018 10:06

"gender non conforming boys being forced to be in the boys group when they don't want to be - thats how Helen wants people to see this. Instead of seeing it as girls being forced to accept boys into the girls group I mean."

The other thing that NEVER happens is a suggestion that maybe boys and men should stop being such dicks to other boys and men who do not adhere to gender role.

heresyandwitchcraft · 24/09/2018 10:09

Fuck the fuck right off. This is not a debate, because nobody who is critical about the ideology or talking basic facts.
This was propaganda.

JoanSummers · 24/09/2018 10:09

"This morning has been so refreshing because we're not here with some people who are always standing up saying (mocking voice) 'transgender people shouldn't exist'. We've got a group of people whose lives are affected by transgender issues, we've got professionals, we've got some advocates, and also we are not debating whether transgender exists or not - that debate is finished. What we're debating is how to welcome these people into our society and the hatred some people are facing, how to educate those who don't understand, and that's what this morning has been about and it's been extremely refreshing to be part of that, this group, today's debate"

SwearyG · 24/09/2018 10:09

Datun you need to download the app otherwise you have to pay for it.

heresyandwitchcraft · 24/09/2018 10:09

Helen, are you still under sanctions by the GMC?

JoanSummers · 24/09/2018 10:10

Debate is another word Helen Webberley doesn't know the meaning of.

heresyandwitchcraft · 24/09/2018 10:12

That was dire. Absolutely dire.

TefalTester123 · 24/09/2018 10:12

I have phoned in complaint and suggested a programme next Monday full of trans critical opinion and no opposing voices, just like the one today which was so biased in the other direction.

OP posts:
NothingOnTellyAgain · 24/09/2018 10:12

"He says 'we' - I missed who else he refers to, is it his wife?"

Probably like the "royal we"

Sometimes bloke is "dave" sometimes "bertha" or whatever
Two different people
You can tell because one likes to wear women's underwear and the other doesn't

Therefore, refers to themselves as "we".

Easy, see.

Should that person and pips / phil bunce be entitled to 2 votes in elections, 2 sets of state pension etc? I say YES YES YES we should "Do what they want" see easy peasy.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 24/09/2018 10:14

" and also we are not debating whether transgender exists or not - that debate is finished"

No-one in the history of ever has denied the evidence of their own eyes and said THAT PERSON DOES NOT EXIST! CAN'T SEE YOU! YOU'RE NOT THERE!

I have literally no idea what they mean when they claim that people have said they don't exist.

Do they not know what "doesn't exist" means? Have they changed the meanings of those words too without consulting anyone?

Datun · 24/09/2018 10:15

Thanks SwearyG. I did download the app. But the programme is unavailable.

I'm hoping it's because it's too soon.

With any amount of luck, Helen will be able to get the actual issues across. Not the mythical, pretend issues the trans-activists deem transphobic.

JoanSummers · 24/09/2018 10:16

More summing up from Helen W:

"Whose hurting anybody, noone being hurt by this, only those people who are trying to stand up and have their own place in society. It's not doing any harm at all so let's all live together"

TefalTester123 · 24/09/2018 10:20

Whole programme is already available in downloads section of BBC iPlayer Radio App. Search Your Call or 5 live Breakfast.

Yes it’s too soon Datun - it normally takes a couple of hours.

Redkeyboard · 24/09/2018 10:23

Did the BBC at any point make clear that Helen Webberly is still under investigation?

heresyandwitchcraft · 24/09/2018 10:23

If you EVER wanted to see evidence that this is an ESTABLISHMENT PROJECT with full backing of the powers-that-be (not a grass-roots bottom-up endeavour), then this piece is it.
They couldn't even put ONE actual gender-critical voice on.

FloralBunting · 24/09/2018 10:24

To an AWA who uses transprop, 'claiming trans doesn't exist' means 'refusing to accept that gender is more significant than sex and can actually override it'.

If you do not believe that a man can feel so strongly inside that he is a woman, that he actually is a woman, then you are claiming that 'trans doesn't exist'. It's their version of the cry 'Heretic!'

It's essentially the flat earth society sneering at the rest of us for pointing out that the earth is a slightly squished globe and doesn't actually have corners.

heresyandwitchcraft · 24/09/2018 10:24

Red I don't think so. They presented her as the pinnacle of expertise on this subject.

Melamin · 24/09/2018 10:27

I'm glad I missed that!

What has all this nonsense got to do with changing the Gender Recognition Act anyway. It is all spoon feeding 'acceptance' (with the threat of the Gulags in the background)

These programmes never even touch upon what the Gender Recognition Act contains, why that is so terrible and what rights transgender people are so much lacking that requires the expense of yet another consultation and report and a new Gender Recognition Act at a time when Austerity reigns.

All you ever hear is Same Sex Marriage and Section 28 which have nothing to do with it, are irrelevant to this argument and are designed to put the frighteners on anyone who questions what the fuck this is all about.

The BBC have been churning out fluff pieces on how difficult it is to be accepted as a non binary person with a beard who likes teddies, or how nasty people are to this lovely family who wants to bring their child up without a gender and gets angry that they have a sex on a birth certificate, but no information on the legalities seen apart from the odd brief, weary summary glossed over on the end of Newsnight

R0wantrees · 24/09/2018 10:28

Fascinating that the BBC have decided to platform and advertise the private services of a doctor who has had a number of complaints made against her, is not covered by the CQC, about whom Health Inspectorate Wales (from GenderGP website)

"Recently they have told me that I should no longer provide services and that they are mindful to not approve my application"

& as she describes,
"My LHB (local health board) have been advised of the large number of complaints that have been made to the GMC about me by the consultants at Charing Cross and the GIDS. They have temporarily suspended my ability to work as an NHS GP in Wales"

So they are intending to leave UK:
"I am going to transfer the hub of my service to my other residence in Malaga, Spain so that I can continue providing care while the regulatory processes are being sorted out."

Redkeyboard · 24/09/2018 10:28

Thanks Heresy

^^
This. I think the term used these days is Astroturf, ie a manufactured grass roots movement.
