Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Antifeminist movement...

Spinflight · 21/08/2018 13:52

Seems to be gathering pace, faster than any other movement that I can recall..

Red Pill, MRAs, blogs and youtube channels seem to be springing up aplenty.

Can we put all of this down to misogyny or admit some failings of feminist thought?

Chocolate covered peanuts. I think they are salted.

terryleather · 22/08/2018 00:18

And may everyone's nuts be salted!!!

Yambabe · 22/08/2018 00:31

I'm not a proper feminist, I don't do breakfast.

But I do make enticing alcoholic drinks by combining cupboard stuff with vodka or rum.

I'm off to a festival this weekend and I'm now thinking I may experiment tomorrow evening and take some nutella vodka with me. Hmm

FloralBunting · 22/08/2018 00:46

I'm very fond of dipping Macdonald's chips in Macdonald's milkshakes with gay abandon. The salt carb/cold dairy combination is sublime.

Ucantarguewistupid · 22/08/2018 01:00

Ooo I do that with McDs fries and mikshakes. Also lovely with their ice cream.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/08/2018 01:05

But I imagine that it would be the sort of thing that people who like that sort of thing like.
Impeccable logic, as we would hope from BertrandRussellGrin

It's like the salted caramel thing, the sweet-salt combo.
(My DM was putting a bit of salt in her bonfire night treacle toffee aeons ago)

LightofaSilveryMoon · 22/08/2018 01:06

Yambabe:
nutella vodka

Suggest you keep a bucket close by, or a convenient tree or shrub.... Grin

Buttered Shredded Wheat (dry) was a Thing when I was growing up. Weetabix has always been dreadful.

thebewilderness · 22/08/2018 01:18

When I was a teen, Frisco Freeze french fries dipped in soft ice cream. My favorite.

thebewilderness · 22/08/2018 01:18

I do not eat breakfast either. I did not know that was grounds to lose my Feminist membership.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/08/2018 01:27

Everyone eats breakfast ... it's the first meal of the day, no matter what it consists of or when you eat it.

thebewilderness · 22/08/2018 01:34

I drink my breakfast. Coffee, strong with cream and sugar.

GirlDownUnder · 22/08/2018 02:21

Torn you are very funny, particularly liked this one:

“I thought an anti-feminest movement was when TRA's ate too many prunes”

But also lol’d at “...popped his Kellogg’s”

"Spinflight", an apt name for a seagull. More of a splatter pattern I guess.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/08/2018 11:21

@Yambabe - a few years ago, at a reunion of the set I did my nurse training with, one of the other women brought home made chocolate vodka liqueur. She made chocolate ganache, and added enough vodka to make it liquid. It was delicious to drink and equally good poured over ice-cream.

She is a genius, and I am proud to call her my friend!

Yambabe · 22/08/2018 12:16

SDT my personal speciality is rolo rum. You slowly melt and stir the rolos in a bain marie (or the microwave!) then slowly add rum until the desired consistency/strength is reached. For special occasions I add double cream once it's cooled. It's a heart attack in a shot glass!

Best-received vodka recipe is either mint or orange matchmakers.

LangCleg · 22/08/2018 12:22

I like caramel chocolate vodka - Cadbury or Galaxy, take your pick.

Yambabe - did you know that you can do this in the dishwasher? Screw the bottle up tight and just run it through a cycle with everything else.

Yambabe · 22/08/2018 12:30

Dishwasher works better with "hard" sweets, so werthers, mintoes, sherbert lemons and chocolate limes are all good.

Skittles can be done in the dishwasher too but tastes better if you do it in the freezer instead!

Most chocolate-based varieties are easier and quicker if you use the melt-and-stir method though.

Haribo cola bottles and goldbears can be soaked in spirit and they retain their shape but absorb all the liquid and swell to about 3-4 times their original size. Delish! Don't make them in summer though as too much heat makes them turn into slippy jelly!

Dried fruit, cherry tomatoes, dried chillis and peppercorns all work but need to be kept airtight and dark for at least a couple of weeks.

I've been perfecting my recipes for years. I get a lot of party invites lol.

LangCleg · 22/08/2018 12:36

OMG. Cola bottles! I bow to your expertise!

LangCleg · 22/08/2018 12:37

(DH will shit himself if he sees this. I get loudly drunk on about 0.5 units!)

sociopathsunited · 22/08/2018 12:49

Werthers Originals dissolved in vodka. Amazing.

I can also recommend the cola bottles soaked in rum.

hic

I also have a recipe for mince pie vodka that needs to be started around now to reach maximum festive spice levels. If you hate christmassy flavours, this is one to be avoided, but otherwise.........mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

VickyEadie · 22/08/2018 12:51

These sweetie alcoholic drinks don't float my boat at all. Just sayin'.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/08/2018 15:51

We’ll drink them for you@VickyEadie - in a spirit of pure self-sacrifice, of course.

@Yambabe - rolo rum sounds amazing!

Ereshkigal · 22/08/2018 16:02

Wow need to screenshot some of the posts before the thread goes!

Kingkiller · 22/08/2018 16:12

Wrt the OP Hmm.

Breakfast:
Weetabix is either like sawdust or disgusting wallpaper paste, depending on wetness.
Granola and porridge are good. Not with whisky though.
Greek yoghurt is best mixed with raspberries, honey and peanut butter.
No breakfast for me though - am on 16:8 diet bandwagon Sad.
