Channel 4 appoints a new advisor on inclusion

www.channel4.com/info/press/news/channel-4-appoints-sue-pascoe-as-advisor-on-inclusion-x

Sue Pascoe, who 4 years ago was Graham, and who said "that while a man, he was the embodiment of the all-action, red-bloodied alpha male."
Of course, by 2015, this evolved to "'It's funny, I'm 55, I am very hormonal, I am going through puberty again which means that I am just getting to my teenage girl years - so watch out world."

Perhaps those teenage girl years have been outgrown now that Pascoe is 58. Here's hoping.

I'm not convinced this will result in a better proportion of those of us who are female being represented though.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of the recent 'inclusivity' appointments actually included women? By which I mean, the old fashioned ACTUALLY underrepresented, female type human.

Still, good to see that Channel 4's new inclusivitiy advisor has no time whatsoever for pesky feminists.

Datun · 09/08/2018 15:27

I understand why AGP individuals wait until middle-age to come out. What I don't understand, so much, is this huge prevalence of being so very macho/alpha when they were men.

It's almost guaranteed.

Is it denial? Or does it go hand-in-hand with seeing women as subservient?

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 09/08/2018 15:28

Pythagonal perhaps Mrs Pascoe has found the trans widows thread here and is hopefully receiving help and support there.

placemats · 09/08/2018 15:29

Yes we all know friends who have met their soul mates in middle age and now feel like a teenager again. And we all smile and wave.

Except feeling like a teenage girl, when you are well into middle age, has safeguarding issues tied up with it in my opinion. There are loads of teenage girls who do horse riding.

hackmum · 09/08/2018 15:29

Probably shouldn't be a surprise that Sue is a member of the Conservative Party:

www.lgbtconservatives.org.uk/news/idahotb-my-story-sue-pascoe

Where the Channel 4 press release says "She is also a trustee of the largest LGBT+ and sexual health charity in the North East of England" does anyone know which charity this is referring to?

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 09/08/2018 15:30

Datun, I don't think they see women as people all, not really, and that plays out in different ways during their lives.

Bowlofbabelfish · 09/08/2018 15:33

From the moral hysteria article posted byROwan above:

Let me bust some myths promulgated by so-called "radical feminists" with extreme fringe views:...Trans children are not a "contagion" on the world. They are just children who need our love and understanding.

Sue here has twisted what has been said. I wonder why Sue has done that? Sue has ignored the idea that is promulgated by some experts in the field that the concept of young girls being attracted to saying they are trans has elements of socially contagious behaviour and twisted this to say that feminists think that children expression such thoughts are a contagion themselves.

Now Sue, I have two options available to me here. Either your level of critical appraisal of such experts is dismal, or you’re deliberately twisting words to make feminists look as though they are inciting hatred. I wonder what sue would say if I asked them that?

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 09/08/2018 15:33

does anyone know which charity this is referring to

Pascoe's twitter page has Yorkshire Mesmac as one of the key names in its first pinned tweet, so perhaps them?

R0wantrees · 09/08/2018 15:34

"Channel 4 has appointed Sue Pascoe of Soaring Spirit Limited"
(this was registered at Companies House in June 2018)

"She is also a trustee of the largest LGBT+ and sexual health charity in the North East of England." ( Mesmac? )

She is also the Conservative Women’s Organisation representative and an executive member of her local parliamentary constituency party.

Sue Pascoe
(extracts)
"But in my 50s, once my children had grown up, I felt I had to explore my feminine side again. I finally told my wife I needed to seek professional help without guilt, and I needed to be honest with our children. She felt our relationship couldn’t continue and filed for divorce. Unfortunately it was very acrimonious, and included bitter disputes and the freezing of assets.

At my lowest point I was homeless, penniless, without my family and living with health problems and gender identity issues. I had lost everything. It was only then that I started living as Sue full time.

Eventually I spoke to my doctor and saved up for surgery. I went to India for my gender surgeries. The NHS could not support me without many years of waiting.

This has been a period of understanding and love from most people but extreme hate and discrimination from others for no other reason than I am transgender. It was therefore brilliant to recently hear the Prime Minister state that “being transgender is not an illness”.

Now I’m mentally strong again, I’m complete as a woman and my divorce is behind me. I am Sue now, as I was always meant to be. My gender identity and my body now fully match. I’m at peace with myself.

The challenge now is to combat the moral hysteria which has been thrown up through fear and propaganda against transgender people, and see legislative changes which support everyone’s gender identity and expression. We only wish to live our lives like any other person and be shown respect and dignity."

MESMAC? Again??

Good lord. What the hell is going on with that organisation.

This Sue Pascoe is just textbook.

Given what's happened with Jess Bradley, the terf stomping chap, etc, I do think it's just a question of time before people wake up to the motives of some transwomen (not 'all', HQ, it's not a generalisation).

SlothSlothSloth · 09/08/2018 15:39

Apart from anything else it appears this person led a life of extreme privilege before transition. What experience can they possibly bring to the table? I googled her and she described herself as an “alpha male” before. Alpha males are exactly the kind of person we need LESS of at the top. Never mind them acting as some kind of equality buffs.

SlothSlothSloth · 09/08/2018 15:40

She complains that her wife divorced her due to her transition and it was extremely bitter and acrimonious. Who would have thought!

MESMAC? Again??

Uncanny, isn't it.

Pythagonal · 09/08/2018 15:43

Beautiful Dog even if she hasn't found her way here, I really hope that she has plenty of support.

SlothSlothSloth · 09/08/2018 15:44

"But in my 50s, once my children had grown up, I felt I had to explore my feminine side again“

It’s so obviously a classic mid-life crisis in these older transbian cases. On an individual level that’s fine, do what you need to do to be happy, provided harm to others is minimised. But we should not as a society be celebrating totally bog-standard male mid-life crises.

placemats · 09/08/2018 15:45

This from the Times.

I don't have a share token but the introduction is fairly explanatory.

Melamin · 09/08/2018 15:47

Is there a thread anywhere about MESMAC - it keeps coming up in the conversation.

LangCleg · 09/08/2018 15:49

Why is this thread turning to Swiss cheese?

TheMostBeautifulDogInTheWorld · 09/08/2018 15:52

Melamin there's a short thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3184557-UK-childrens-charity-investigated-for-child-abuse but with quite a lot of information about the scandals.

IDontEatFriedTurtle · 09/08/2018 15:52

'It's funny, I'm 55, I am very hormonal, I am going through puberty again which means that I am just getting to my teenage girl years - so watch out world."

Eww it's always about acting like a teen girl isnt

placemats · 09/08/2018 15:53

Trans women are by definition male then, according to this.

It can't be denied that this person was by their own definition, an alpha male. Now this person has transitioned into a trans woman.
