Dr Adrian Harrop, who the funk does he think he is?

If you're not familiar with this supposed physician (yes, really), then you need to get over to Twitter and see this.

Harrop seems to spend most of his time harassing and insulting natal women whilst unquestionably supporting trans women. He is hiding behind his "medical expertise" and using it to shout women down.

It's both hilarious and terrifying! Shock

Sorry for the lame attempt - I'm not a poet!!😂

nauticant · 17/06/2018 20:50

PIP assessor is one of those "too good to be true" facts. I'll wait till it's confirmed before I believe it.

pombear · 17/06/2018 21:09

There was a young man called Adrian Harrop
One of his patients had a right stroo'oh' op
She said she wanted a female clinician
with their bits intact, 'aahhaact'

Adrian Harrop said she was a transphobe
She said she just wanted someone without a penis...oh
He told her 'get out of this clinic, oh'
'you're just a classic transpho..oooohhbe'.

She left the clinic feeling sad
She didn't understand what made him mad
She just wanted safety as she'd known it
He told her she had to accept a 'boner' don't you know it.

(Ade- you gotta sing it in the spirit it's been written in, otherwise you'll be able to post it as 'this doesn't make sense'!)

pombear · 17/06/2018 21:11

*Lastgirl^ as long as we sing it in the style we know it needs to be, it works. Good poetry! :-)

trumptrump · 17/06/2018 23:54

I can't believe someone compared him to Katie Hopkins! At least Katie can laugh at herself, and she does at least attempt a debate!

(Not defending KH, but I'd pick her over Dr Adrain)

I compared him to KH for the simple reason he uses the same MO.

Spout some controversial shite to get clicks/publicity. Nothing more nothing less.

He's a narcissist who doesn't have the self awareness to be a doctor. Thankfully it sounds like he doesn't want to work in the NHS anyway which is good as it keeps him out of the way of ordinary folk with real illnesses.
Media doctors are a strange breed, some seem sensible docs who are good at speaking calmly, others are attention seeking mavericks who enjoy the power and meeting "celebrities".
I don't know why he's picked on trans issues as his "thing" but there seems to be a lot of money and influence there.
I think he's too good at pissing people off to get where he wants to go though. The media don't like their spokespeople and celebrity docs to be too controversial. A bit yes, a lot no.

R0wantrees · 19/06/2018 15:09

I understand that Dr Harrop and Dr Webberley are good friends. Perhaps private practice beckons?

Pratchet · 24/06/2018 10:29

Ew

SunsetBeetch · 24/06/2018 10:34

Here he is cheering on the doxxing of another woman.

Dr Adrian Harrop, who the funk does he think he is?
Datun · 24/06/2018 10:39

Ugh.

Do you think you knows? Do you think he realises that every time he speaks, women everywhere involuntarily cross their legs.

Pratchet · 24/06/2018 10:46

He's gay though I thought

Datun · 24/06/2018 11:01

Yes, I think he is. Still leg crossingly creepy.

Pratchet · 24/06/2018 11:20

But.. really odd. Seems to be angling for some media gig? But hates women so bad.

Sarahconnor1 · 24/06/2018 14:58

I find it astonishing that a men feels he can dictate to women the words we used to describe ourselves. He has zero self awareness zero understanding. Just awful. Cheering on the doxxing of a women tells you everything you need to know.

leontheprofessional · 24/06/2018 15:03

Having read through his tweets and spoken to him he is a lovely man who cares about the trans community so do other doctors on Twitter who I won't name because I don't want them to become known to other certain Twitter users who send abuse

Bowlofbabelfish · 24/06/2018 15:05

A lovely man? He just used the word cretinous...

If I used that in a patient facing context I’d be fired. It’s an entirely inappropriate way to speak if you’re a health professional.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 24/06/2018 15:07

Cool story Leon.

Sarahconnor1 · 24/06/2018 15:07

He doesn't care much about women though. That is very clear.

I read his tweets and he comes across and a bully. Media hungry, but still a bully.

Ereshkigal · 24/06/2018 15:08

He really isn't a lovely man. He told a woman who got a death threat for mild heckling in a TV debate that he hoped she had learnt her lesson.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 24/06/2018 15:14

He isnt a lovely man he's a vile misogynist.

(He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!)

Sarahconnor1 · 24/06/2018 15:29

Heads up. Leon has another thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3287307-a-Twitter-battle

Let's just say it's interesting.

FermatsTheorem · 24/06/2018 15:35

Hmm.

You say tomahto and I say tomayto,
You say lovely and I say misogynistic shit smears wake stain..
Let's call the whole thing off.

(Another one whose pronouns are Dr, Dr and Dr. I like that, Bowl. )

FermatsTheorem · 24/06/2018 15:36

Fucking autocorrect won't let me fucking swear properly.

Misogynistic shit smeared wank stain, obviously
