Dr Adrian Harrop, who the funk does he think he is?

TrumpTrump · 09/05/2018 22:21

If you're not familiar with this supposed physician (yes, really), then you need to get over to Twitter and see this.

Harrop seems to spend most of his time harassing and insulting natal women whilst unquestionably supporting trans women. He is hiding behind his "medical expertise" and using it to shout women down.

It's both hilarious and terrifying! Shock

Adrian writes badly.
He is generally a bit B-team.

Hats off to Dawn Butler. Excellent response.

These bullying men on twitter are awful, but even more concerning if they have the weight of "Doctor" in their name.

The good doctor has just retweeted Dr C (great TV guru of our time, and general full time misogynist) bigging up giving children drugs for gender dysphoria. Putting children on a medicalised pathway that could lead to infertility - this really needs to be looked at. These doctors are hounding women from their political parties for expressing opinion - meanwhile gender clinics are putting children on drugs, that are largely untested for longterm use, and were developed for something else entirely (aren't they mainly cancer treatment??).

*Dawn Furness!

(Dawn Butler hahahahaha) No hats off to D Butler.

nauticant · 13/05/2018 22:51

Having looked at Harrop's recent tweets, I see that when he gets his arse handed to him in such a humiliating way he hides behind a load of retweeting. He's a bit of a cowardly bully isn't he?

Ereshkigal · 13/05/2018 23:00

Literally spat some wine

MonsoonMama · 13/05/2018 23:32

I see he hasn't replied to Dawn yet. Because he can't. She pitched it so perfectly he's not able to reply. She gave him nothing that he could latch onto and label transphobic, she was smart and reasoned with her response. He can't reply, he can't refute or belittle anything she said.

ToeToToe · 13/05/2018 23:43

No, why would he? He just wants her expelled from her political party. Because women shouldn't speak. Unless in support of men.

ToeToToe · 13/05/2018 23:48

This was a corker:

^Also, I noticed you just doxxed me on Twitter! Can you please clarify your stance regarding online bullying, intimidation and whether these line up with the @NHSEngland policies, outlined here www.england.nhs.uk/comment-policy/^

Terfing · 13/05/2018 23:50

He will probably just block her, but keep slagging her off.

Interestingly, from his Tweet location, he seems to be not far from Newcastle, which is where this meeting will be held... I wonder if he will protest? He seems to like the drama.

Koalablue · 14/05/2018 02:42

Id never heard of him till this thread. I cant see his tweets because i am blocked.

nfkl · 14/05/2018 08:08

Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier, but I was just looking at Jessen's website and the bio page says:

"Dr Christian graduated in 2000 from University College London, having trained in general medicine, infectious disease, travel medicine and sexual health/HIV. He has lived in Kenya and Uganda where he taught in schools and also researched malaria and HIV interactions in children"

This guy has lived in Africa, he has seen the situation firsthand.

His "question" seems even less disingenuous now... truly disgusted.

Tracy King:
"Okay, going to do a niche thread and hope the right people see it. I just blocked a doctor who has followed me for a long time because his public harassment of women has turned into privately attacking them via DM. So, this is for medical Twitter:
Women’s trust in medicine right now is very low, following the Ian Paterson case (which as you know I am highly qualified to comment on), the vaginal mesh controversy, and other issues. If you are a doctor with a public platform
hen I am begging you, PLEASE disengage from publicly piling on women whose views you disagree with. What I’m observing has gone way beyond just a tweet or two and now looks like a crusade. Please, stop it. It’s VERY upsetting to the casual observer like me who already has issues with arrogant male medicine. If you’re going to tweet as doctors then you have a public duty of trust to uphold. This bunfight is ugly and more importantly, is eroding trust. End of thread."

@Terfing "Interestingly, from his Tweet location, he seems to be not far from Newcastle"

His company is registered in Tyne & Wear.

Terfing · 15/05/2018 20:56

@JustABrokenDoll yes, that's right next to Newcastle... interesting.

Tinlegs · 15/05/2018 22:12

Saw these on Twitter. Womanface? Or trans?

Tinlegs · 15/05/2018 22:14

And he has admitted to them being him - both in the screenshot and in subsequent tweets.

thecraftyfox · 15/05/2018 23:07

I hope he has done self crit/penance foe daring to wear drag. Not because it is offensive to women but because drag might cause literally millions of TIMs to die of being confused for men in frocks.

AnotherQuoll · 15/05/2018 23:16

He's still in training, so not registered as a gp. But he's so enthusiastic about it all, I think he could well turn out to be a g p anyway.

JustABrokenDoll · 15/05/2018 23:25

@Tinlegs - he popped in to tell me it was ok because it was some mate's fancy dress party (because that's a great excuse to parody women).

It really doesn't help transwomen who are fighting against the 'just men in wigs and dresses' argument though. Not much of a trans ally when you dig beneath the surface.

Still, I'm proper honoured he showed up to pass comment, being a mere woman and all that Smile

Kyanite · 16/05/2018 10:07

Here's a link to that Twitter post with the photo.

sorry, I'll try again.

I think that time spent tweeting and the occasional distraction of actually having a full time job paid for by the tax payer is limiting Adrian's earnings at present.

NotTerfNorCis · 17/06/2018 08:51

Some people are just in it for the attention, aren't they.

Wasn't this guy a Tory five minutes ago?
